Close to Durham centre (about 15mins). Good standard and know what to expect from Days Inn.
I liked the fact that the room was quite, very little traffic noise.
Room and furnishings are getting a bit shabby.
Price, comfy bed, quiet location but very close to A1M
Tired bathroom, very poor shower, only Costas and McDonald's for food & drink
Staff were very welcoming & helpful with children. Able to sleep 5 of us in one room.
Room wrongly booked for 3 even though my copy said 5. staff were so helpful but after arriving at 22.30 with 3 sleeping children we'd hoped to just put them straight to bed not wait until 2 more beds were made up!
Good location and very cheap.
Basic room and beds not that comfortable.
I was not told I was booked into a "disabled" room. The shower was set very low on the wall. The wall heater was placed opposite the extractor fan, so any heat disappeared. The soap dispensers were empty. A refill bottle of antibacterial handwash was supplied, but no pump. There was nowhere to get a good hot meal in the evening or at breakfast. Only sachets of coffee or tea were supplied. There was no decaffeinated coffee or herb tea.
The receptionist did his best to help when I asked if we could swap rooms; unfortunately the alternative room was no better.
The bathroom had mouldy grout and needed retiling. The mattress was so soft that it was impossible for two people to sleep on it without rolling together. We improvised by spreading the duvet across the bed and the sofabed. I particularly didn't like being heckled by a pair of prostitutes while talking to the receptionist.
Good value and conveniently located beside A1(M)
Clean, reasonable price, good motorway access and next to a sevices.
Free-wifi wasn't really free. Cannot use if you did not have a uk phone. Staff not trained to handle customers
good facilities for price. near 24 hrs store. attentive and helpful staff. free internet
Easy to get to
Room was damp asked to be moved told full, went on to booking site more then 5 rooms available finally got room changed ! Member of staff had been left on her own, she had only been there a week, 1st room was booked for 3 only double bed & couch bed, no bedding to make bed up & 1 toes between 3 of us, will not stay here again !
nothing to report
Good value and had everything we needed.
Bathroom and furnishings a bit worn and dated. Mattress a bit too soft.
Location and price.
The absence of in-house breakfast. I did not want to have breakfast at a Macdonalds or Costa Coffee.
Clean, close to Newcastle and Durham, pleasant staff.
Room did have a slight musty smell but that is a minor complaint.
friendly helpful staff on reception
Booked a double room hpwever when I got there it was a twin. Travelling solo but it would of been nice to have been able to make more than 1 cup of tea.
The surprising quietness and the large size of our room.
Only mcdonalds and costa coffee close by
Facilities as expected. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Limited water / pressure in the shower, which also ran from warm to cold and dripping to slow.
The reception wasn't open and no-one to let us know we're we could leave our bags, all the taxi contracts in their book were invalid numbers and one taxi company was in Essex. No one to contact if you needed help before 12 lunch time
There was a supply of extra milk and tea and coffee in the foyer to help yourself. Bedding was clean.
Bed was uncomfortable. The mattress rolled you into the middle. The bed wasn't set up for our child. The bathroom smelled badly of stale nicotine. Everything a little shabby which made it all look a little dirty.
Premises are tired and shabby. Cleanliness was poor.
A great place to base ourselves We found a gem of a restaurant 5miutes away
Location was ideal and the freedom to come and go as pleased. Suited our plans as a place to stay overnight to support the Great North Run.
Needs a bit of an overhaul, looking a bit passed its best. Would expect a bit better for the price.
