The Receptionist who booked us in was fantastic - she looked the part (not only smart but most welcoming) she was super- effecient, and put herself out for us when we had an initial request; we cannot praise her enough - and what a representative she is for the hotel. Sorry we didn't see her again on duty while we stayed at the hotel - she quite 'coloured' our stay at the hotel. I speak as an ex- Hotel Receptionist (in London's West End). I do not even know her name but she had a very attractive short hair style with blond streaks in. Thank you very much.

Combined hotel and breakfast area within hotel, this with good quality breakfast. WI FI was not free yet all adverts clearly show 'Free Wi Fi' . Day's Inn is usually more expensive than other 'Travel Inn' type hotels and so wi fi should be included. If it can be free even in pubs and coffee shops then Day's Inn is not up with the leaders. I was told that certain rooms had the facility and that was even more galling.

The location and the price suits us perfectly for our love of horse racing. It is clean and practical. Nothing! It is utilitarian in approach and that is evident from the price

Staff were excellent checking in and were only good on checking out therfore my overall mark on question 2 would have been excellent had the receptionist had been more courteous when checking out.

Very close and convenient to visit my aunt in hospital and at home. The harvester next door was so close but they had run out of all meat except chicken and fish on Wed.30/1/13 And only promised along wait for a table on Thurs31/1/13. Very unsatisfactory as we had had a long and tiring day and did not want to drive further but we had to.

Rooms are fairly comfortable - nice shower but no bath but not a problem for me. TV nice and easy to use with a good range of channels and decent position and size. Double beds are two single beds together creating a gap in the middle.

Pleasant surroundings. Room was comfortable and decorated to good standard for the budget. Bed was very uncomfortable to lay on. It was much too firm and pillows very small. Bed was only great to sit on.... :-( Had a bad back since staying there on New Years Eve.

Stayed for 1 night as came to Essex for my nephews wedding . Found the hotel to be modern , clean , very friendly & excellent value for money. Located next to a Harvester Restuarant was an added bonus . Breakfast adequate and overall we were very impressed with our short , but nevertheless excellent stay. Would highly recommend. Could not fault for price paid

The staff were excellent and the room was comfortable and pleasant. The area arround the sink in the accessible room felt cluttered with everything so close together. The accessible toilet in the bar area had the sink too close to the toilet which makes transfers from a wheelchair awkward and the sink stops people from sitting down squarely to the toilet.

Friendly staff ideally located for the purpose of our visit We travelled with 2 small border terrier dogs I think the extra cost of this was rather high. It added £40 to the cost of our stay. This is much higher than other hotels we have stayed in

Good selection at the breakfast buffet. Friendly welcome at the reception upon arrival. We liked the shelf space in the room, had loads of room to put our bags on them so they were not in the way on the floor. We had a family room and found the bed a bit uncomfortable and both me and wife had sore back in the morning. Also the duvet is not big enough for the bed size, we therefore took the duvet from the spare bed(we had travel cot for son) so that we both had enough cover in the night.

The room first allocated had a stained matress cover under the sheet. When I complained, we were upgraded, which was fine. What has happened to the quality biscuits? We were given a bottle of water and children's cheap sweets -the 'Rewards'!!!. Please reconsider !
