Location, cleanliness and price
Mattress on bed seen better days.
lack of plces to eat other than overpriced services next door with very little to choose for evening meal, staff said there were 2 pubs fairly local but didn't serve food on sundays so no joy there
considering we were in the services there was no motor noise at all the staff were cheerful happy and helpful
didnt like getting up in the morning
Free wifi and TV Price
Luckily we had a family room although there was only 2 of us as the mattress was so soft on the double bed that it was impossible for both to sleep in it so 1 had the sofa bed.
a young lady called starr was extremely helpful at book-in, she accompanied me to my room carrying my luggage,as I use crutches, I found the room clean, adequately equipped, good coffee facilities(decent coffee!). I would use again
I had asked for early check-in but the days Inn had no knowledge of my request so there was no one on the desk for 2hours bed was adequate but I prefer a firmer base
I like how conveniently placed the hotel is for Newport and Cardiff and the fact that despite being at the services it's reasonably quiet. The staff are always lovely and friendly, the rooms are of a good standard and there's free wifi, which is crucial for me.
Despite giving my car registration number on arrival, a couple of weeks after my stay I received a notice informing me that I'd overstayed in the car park and demanded I pay a £40 fine. Although it was sorted pretty quickly, I was disappointed that the communications between the hotel and the parking company appear to have broken down.
Coffee makings and hair dryer
Sink plug missing--staff sorted it out--Towel rail heater not working
Convenient location just off M4. Parking was close to the hotel, (some locations you have to walk a down a long path from the car park to the hotel.) Dogs are accepted too.
We stayed 2 nights, the room wasn't cleaned on the first night, the beds weren't made up ready for the 2nd night and the tea/coffee were not replenished. Not much choice of "eatery", OK if you like burgers etc. which we don't.
Prompt and friendly service from the receptionist
This is the 4th time I've stayed here and the first time I have been in a ground floor room. Never again. There was an awful smell of drains in the corridor. The window looked out straight onto the service station car park with people walking very close so had to keep curtains closed for privacy and the mattress was terrible really old and sank in the middle. Finally there was a constant noise of running water from the bathroom so had to keep the door closed all the time.
Originally the convenience of location en-route to North Wales.
Booked two double bedrooms, ended up with one twin and one double! Shower was broken in our friends room! The adjacent services foodfare very basic and expensive due to captive audiences/motorway location. Unfortunately due to the G8 summit in Newport the the car-park was in constant use throughout the night so sleeping proved impossible for me!
- attitude of staff members - value for money
- a shower's head - a mattress in the bed - noise from the car park
Bed was soft and because next to busy services car park it was noisy until late. Hadn't got us booked in for 1st night of 2 night stay. So room not fully ready no toilet paper...
Friendly staff Great location Value for money
Given a disabled room - neither of us are disabled. Hairdryer didn't work. Lights situated too close above bed - for someone with disability probably ok but we smacked our heads on them just sitting up.
I don't like being issued with a parking summons from CPPlus nearly every time I stay at Days Inn For that reason I wouldn't recommend staying there
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was very warm with no air conditioning. As I had a room at the front of the hotel, it was extremely noisy all night. As this is a 24 hour services, there was vehicle and people going past my window all night. The bathroom taps need repairing as they constantly drip.
The car park and services area was litter strewn and tatty
Ideal location for competing at David Broome Equestrian Centre. Loved the fact that we could have our dog with us deffo a 200% bonus.!!!
Very noisy generator under window.
Wireless internet Hotel us credited for 2 of our 3 night stay to compensate for such an unpleasant stay
No telephones in rooms Coffee maker broken Shower head leaking and stuck together with sealant so water pressure almost non-existent Had to move to another room Abrupt treatment from manager on duty
It was clean and comfortable. Basic but good value. Friendly staff.
The young lady on reception was very helpful polite we could not have asked for more, the room was very peaceful which was a surprise as is very close to the motorway, would use again without question if in the area.
would have been nice to have a choice of food, we arrived late so only choice was mcdonalds, or a sandwich at the petrol station.
Facilities poor and what is available is expensive. Noisy at night. Wi-Fi poor and difficult to use.
Friendly staff and location just off the motorway
Noise from carpark during the night. People shouting to each other and talking
All round acceptable standard in the hotel. Rooms generous proportions and plenty of hot water. Enjoyed my brief stay.
TV a bit too small but not a vital requirement. Noisy - nato summit
Room, was good, clean and comfortable.
Lack of draw space and was very warm which made sleeping difficult.
A bit noisy at dawn but then I did have my window opem
