Good value, with friendly staff and basic but clean facilities. Good buffet breakfast. Ample parking. Our stay was to attend Derby County football, but difficult to walk to the ground, requiring a taxi both ways costing £5.
Difficult to find, during the evening rush hour, in the dark, on a wet December evening. Entrance is dominated by an illuminated sign for a club. A similar Days Hotel sign would be much more effective.
There are two older ladies who work there and they are lovely. Very friendly and understanding if you have a problem and they do try and sort it out for you. Thank you ladies.
I moved room due to the dirtiness of the supposed clean shower. The second rooms shower was cleaner than the first room but still not clean. Asked for it to be cleaned but they say it was. I couldnt see how.
Room and amenities were excellent as were staff. Great view from room
1st bathroom had a really damp ceiling and around bath was black with damp , no bedside lamp bulb and noise from Asian restaurant bins below rooms, moved rooms - bathroom better, less noise but still no bedside lamp as broken.
location and parking was good only 10-15 min walk to centre added bonus was a smoking room.
room needed updating marks on carpet, torn wallpaper . room was below our usual expectations
For the price it's not a bad hotel if everything works as it should
The kettle didn't work, the heating didn't work. Was given an electric plug in heater which was fair enough but was told by the receptionist there was nothing they could with regards to the kettle. The least I expected was an offer of a hot beverage from reception but received no such thing. I wouldn't stop there again
location is good. Breakfast tasted better than it looked. The hotel itself is neither good nor bad. It is adequate for one night.
carpets are badly in need of a good clean. There were more stains than carpet in the room. Also, I pulled the net curtain aside to find the wall underneath was absolutely black with dirt. No chef on a sunday so no food.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.room clean and spacious.would definitely go again.
We wanted a meal in the evening but had to drive out. Restaurant next door was quite expensive.
The staff were very polite and helpful.
The full English breakfast was not very good at all. evening menu was very limited, had to walk15 minutes into town in the freezing cold to get a decent meal. Won't be going there again.
Near city centre
Tired furnishings, mould in the bathroom, and stuff on the floor.
Recpetion staff very friendly & helpful. Comfortable beds, clean linen & towels Free Parking Free WiFi
Black mould on shower walls/corners Grubby carpets, at the edges near wall
Excellant front of office staff, printed my boarding pass out for me. Very well turned out and friendly
Not free WiFi
Not much apart from the location. I would not go back even if paid
The booming bass reverberating around my room at 2.00am and the attitude of the manageress Shirley when I complained the next morning. I specifically requested a quiet room and I was placed in a room directly above the club!
Attention by staff to requests was excellent.
Poor value breakfast, some had bacon others didn't. Only scrambled eggs when fried were preferred. Poor room heating.
The heating didn't work. I went down to reception to see if there was a portable heater we could use. There was none. We had to resort to using the hairdryer for heat. In December!! Also, we went for dinner at 6.30, only to be told that we wouldn't eat until after 8.00pm due to a coach party being booked in and them only having one chef.
The efficency of the manageress in dealing with the non booked situation, and if it were not for her efforts, i would have walked out. The complimentary breakfast was very good, along with the friendly and efficent waitress. Finally, there was no " Hope you enjoyed your stay with us, despite the Booking issue,or hope to see you again soon, or Cheerio, or thanks for your custom, not even a goodbye" on check out...
location Further from town centre than advertised, too far to walk, and for safety reasons, personal protection best to get taxi back to hotel..6 pounds sterling. Entrance very untidy and urgently needed sweeping and cleaning up. Bedroom, tea and coffee making system very good,..excellent bathroom and power shower, however, the amount of bed clothes on the king size bed were minimalistic, plus pillows were very poor. the electric bedroom heater was was adequet, but would probably not be sufficent on a colder evening in the minus one category...
It was near where we were visiting Bed very comfortable Let dog stay in the end
On arrival said did not take dogs but web site said they did. Several things in room needed fixing window would not shut properly and was stuck up with masking tape, heater did not work, fuse had trippedcand therefore kettle would not work and hair dryer was overheating ,probably the cause of the tripped switch.
Friendly staff, comfortable and clean, well worth the rate for the night.
Not the easiest hotel to walk to the town centre from.
Nothing in particular.
1. It is far from city center or university. 2. We asked for non-smoking rooms and we received heavy-smelling smoker rooms (in first instance). 3. We could not pay in euro, so a trip to a bank in city center was compulsory after a travel with two planes and trains. 4. Friday night was sleepless because of drunken guests who shouted and slammed doors all night long (a social event was organised).
Room was a bit cold and bar had run out of draught beer.
Hotel was cold and I'm not a cold person normally.
Simple check in and good location at a fair price.
The soap dispenser didn't work properly in the shower and the water didn't drain away for an hour after I finished shower.
The room was big, clean, comfy after a long day it was a welcome relief and the food for the money was very welcome.
To far from the motorway and no Internet in the room.
Good access by car to centre of town. Powerful shower. Good sized room. Speedy lift.
Window wouldn't open. Mould in shower. No drawer space to unpack ( I was there for a week). No facilities within walking distance unless you wanted the gym or cricket pitch. Unable to access TV channels without going through tedious menu process each time.
Very clean and tidy. Excellent value. Really friendly staff
