Staff on Reception friendly, welcoming and helpful. Close to my business venue and good value Very basic - tv remote not very good, selection of tv channels not very great, picture not very great. Channels numbers not matching well to actual channels.

THis hotel is like being on the Marie Celeste - you never see anyone. The receptionist is all things barman and any other duties req'd. The hotel is purpose built very tired around the edges. Bar has next to no drink on offer. One lager,Cider run out otherwise cans and spirits,no english breakfast as chef on holiday!. BUT room execellent very well equipped, clean reasonable size. All en suite. Road noise bad if window left open. Good car parking. For no nonsense accomm at a reasonable rate I would use it again. I will in fact. Does need refurb though but then prices would increase. Can't have it both ways. Staff very cheerful. Where was restaurant. Why no replacement chef? No ambience, seemed deserted. Bit tatty Understoked bar

Nothing, everything was worser than we expected. Very bad choice. Need refreshment. Non smoking rooms, smelled badly as smoking. My wife is pregnant and she could not bear the smell of smokiness. Carpet was so dirty and guests from another rooms were so drunk and loud that could not sleep. The drunk guests knocked our door so loudly.

Car park outside hotel Stagnant smell in the room. Heating didn't work. Lack of a lift....quite a distance to walk with heavy bags with a room at the very back of the hotel.

I was dubious about staying here after reading previous reviews but I want to put things into perspective. There is nothing wrong with this hotel for the price you are paying. True its a little tired and dated but it was clean fairly comfortable with some of the most helpful and friendly hotel staff I have come across. I guess I would liken it to staying with An elderly aunt. Nothings changed for a while, but its homely. Maybe its because I went with very low expectations and ended up being surprised. All this said I also wouldnt want to pay more than basic rate for this hotel. No lift. Room was a little chilly but hotel had added a portable heater to room without asking that fixed that problem

The guys at reception were friendly and helpful. As soon as the taxi turned the corner in towards the hotel you were thinking I hope this is not it. Driveway in coveren in overgrown weeds and looked desolate. The guy at reception was really nitce but the hotel is old looking and worn out looking and the carpet is there for years. The room was basic but old and the bed had seen better days and again the carpet!! There was hair in the bathroom from previous occupants. It was supposed to have 3 bars and restaurant - but the door was locked into these areas and not once for my 2 nights did I see the bar open. do not recommend this hotel to anyone dirty and old - reception guys which were the only people I saw for the whole time there were really nice but apart from that never never again would i venture near the place and in the end it was not close to the nec or to the bull ring it really was in the middle of nowhere. very very disappointed.

Had to go to Birmingham for one night so the price was the attraction. Very pleasant and clean and free parking. The room and beds were very good. I noticed the cleaners in the room opposite moving beds to clean, which was impressive. When we asked for help with the heating system it was dealt with immediately.I Would stay there again at £39. Perfectly acceptable. A little tired and in need of maintenance, our shower although working was in need of repair, The tv was in need of upgrading. Couldn't find a lift so lots of stairs. I guess disabled people get ground floor rooms. Around 4 miles to Centre so £6 for taxi into town but double that to get back.

It is convenient to Birmingham City Centre and the Shops. It seems to be used by people a lot to go into the city clubbing and not having much respect for other guests stopping at the hotel. I would not recommend the Birmingham Hotel to others whilst the above is happening. It would be unfair to expect them to pay the price and have little sleep.

It's location was good Cleanliness. I arrived to a room that let's just say smelled like a sewer. When I went to use bathroom the toilet was disgusting and clearly the room had not been cleaned since last guest left. I felt uncomfortable and disgusted by hotel. I ended up checking out and going elsewhere to stay. Absolutely disgusting, unhygienic hotel.

Postives were the friendly reception staff and the well cooked breakfast. On a main road - very noisey. Communal areas untidy and grubby. Broken glass in one of the stairways. In desperate need of a refurnishment and a general clean up. Would not choose again for this reason.

Breakfast & service was good. It's been a long time since I've shared a bathroom with silverfish and that just about sets the tone for this hotel. Room was large but quite noisy and really cold so the heating not working was an issue.

The helpfulness and sheer pleasantness of all the staff encountered. The location is great - on the a45 motorway and also just over the road from a station that takes one directly into the city. The rooms are large and good value for money. The car parking is excellent.

Large room Road noise was all night. No catering facilities on my visit, kitchens being refurbished and nothing said on website. Not sure if they evening meals at all. Had to buy in take away. Was not happy with that. Hotel is dated in the early 1980s with garish colours need light colours to bring warth back in stairs and rooms. My room could do with some repairs. No mention on website only a shower en-suite.
