The staff were charming and very helpful. The hotel offered good value for money. The location meant it was a little noisy at times but this was understandable owing to the lively location. Very pleased and would come again.

I did not like anything except the location! The hotel and staff were apauling. They gave menthe wrong room, which had a hole in the floor. I then requested they moved me. The man at reception gave nothing but attitude, stating that not all rooms come With etc... Then he looked at what i had paid for then he realised. They wouldn't turn on the heating until the 3rd attempt of asking, we just got told it's the middle of July and the heating is automatic. He then came up with a portable heater to plug in. The room was falling apart, no fire alarm... Health and safety?? Holes in the floor that you have to climb out! No phone in a top suite...? Bathroom in pieces! I have pics to prove! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I have never been so insulted as a human! Comfort inn... Never again!

The only thing I liked was the location. The hotel was very tired and in need of refurbishment. The T.v reception was virtually non existant and the breakfast was cold.

Nothing really, the staff were helpful that's about all. Breakfast served too late for business people. Chef too busy smoking outside to bother with providing food any earlier. Needs a refurb, especially the carpets and TV. My room view was of piles of rubbish in a yard belonging to the hotel, it was never cleared up.

Was close to the pier and brilliant views The room above us played music very loud from 9-12pm, me and my partner asked reception to get this turned down more than once as we had a 7 month old baby trying to sleep and you didnt manage to do this, you rung the room and knocked but no answer so you then left the music playing, it took a 3rd attempt for me to ask reception and i then had to shout to the balcony of the people staying and get them to turn it off myself, i dont expect to pay 80.00 a night and be kept awake and have a very unhappy sad baby as she couldnt sleep, they were staying in your hotel and therefore you should of been able to deal with it better than you did

The room was good and I did get a free upgrade as they had sold out on the single rooms that I booked on here. All the small print says that wifi was free all over the hotel, on booking.com and in the small print on comfort inns literature in the room but very annoyingly it is only free in the lobby and you have to pay for the wifi in the rooms. Despite all the literature the receptionist didn't offer anything. Not a full menu to choose from so went for the steak but the meat must have been of very bad quality. In your room make sure you put a towel down on the bathroom floor as the tiles are very slippery when wet Hot breakfast may start at 7:30am but do not expect it to be with you for a further 20mins. Might make you late if your in a hurry. I wasn't the only resident not happy about this but he was allot more vocal and the lady workig there just looked at him blankly with no apology.

Hotel public areas and rooms well maintained, clean and welcoming. Comfortable bed, adequate sized rooms. Staff polite and helpful. Excellent value for money. Beyond hotels control. so merely a comment not a complaint. Seemed to be a wedding group (or other gathering) who were very noisy when moving about the building, late at night/early morning.

Very helpful desk clerk.. Friendly quick service in the evening.. Shame it wasn't the same in the morning. They didn't stick to what they said when you get 20% eating the blue lagoon restiarant as a guest.. Breakfast was over done and the juices were warm and obviously from a cheap carton.. They could have at least chilled it.

No mattress cover, mattress was badly stained and filthy. Was shown two other rooms that were as bad. Too late to find another hotel so doubled up sheets & another duvet before sleeping. Hairdryer which was connected had four lots of insulating tape on the tangled lead, pat-test sticker said failed September! Stale beer smelled of dirty pipes & was rejected as undrinkable. Evening meal was poorly cooked. As we sat down to breakfast another guest who was leaving behind a full plate said of our breakfast "best of luck with that". Guy on reception was very good and did his best to help, but I suggest you avoid this hotel like the plague

We were very disappointed. The Hotel gave an air of emptiness, and lack of care, although we were told they had had a 'very busy week-end'. I have marked our room 'poor' for clean, which is not altogether fair, the corridors leading to the room were unclean. Similarly for comfort. Our stay could have been so much more enjoyable. Before I left (we were there for an overnight - Sunday/Monday - stay only, I mentioned 4 points to management. The door to the en suite had a huge hole in the veneer - I was told someone had put their fist through it. I assume fire escape notices had been torn from both the inside of the room entry door and the room side of the en suite door. There was no bulb in the light on one side of the bed, and one of the lights in the bathroom cabinet was not working. See above. The hotel generally felt unkempt.

“I loved the idea of continental breakfast in my room. Microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, fresh loaf of bread every day. Plus ther was butter, marg, cheese, yoghurts, cereal, fresh milk, orange juice, fresh fruit, tea coffee, sugar, all in endless amounts. wonderful for people who do not eat cooked breakfast and want a long lie in each morning. Plus it was great to have toast and jam before bedtime. Yum yum. There were in the process of having the whole place redecorated and am looking forward to seeing it finished when I go back, yes I will definitly be going to stay there again. Great for singles, couples and families. Good size bathroom as well . Thankyou Brunton House.” Carole, Chippenham |
