On the outskirts of Newbury, overlooked by the historic Donnington Castle, this beautifully renovated 18th-century Gothic house is set in 550 acres of grounds with its own championship golf course.

This charming family-run inn has an attractive and tranquil setting in the middle of the rolling Marlborough Downs, with great access to the region’s major road network.

on the motor way
trying to find it! all other companies have lit signs, but at night struggled to find days in and almost ended up back on the motorway! Sign lighting please!
We wanted a slow start so the 11am check out was a bonus. Very clean an will stay again.
Very pleasant stay and friendly staff
Couldn't stay longer
staff welcome, extra pillows brought to room. Comfort and cleanliness. Good outlook over lawn and trees. Space to walk the dog. Drinks available including water.
As I was in transit from one place to another it was very easy to find and involved no detours
Friendly helpful staff
Facilities tired especially bathrooms. Basin cracked and in need of refurbishment
Everything was great clean great double bed plenty of space no problems
Clean Friendly staff Comfortable Free wi-fi Good location Free parking
As the hotel is located near a service point it is easy to get to several choices of (fast) food
The hotel is quite far located from the parking place. So not so convenient if you have a lot of luggage. Plus there is no elevator, so if you can't take the stairs be sure that you get a room at the ground floor.
Staff are very happy and helpful.very informative.never had any problems whilst we stayed here.would highly recommend it.
The fact that we had a nice, overnight rest during a long journey. The bed was extremely comfortable even though I had to move it nearer to an electric point for my overnight respirator as my extension cord was not long enough and the hotel did not have a supply available.
No disabled parking close to the hotel. Had to park in services car park and walk through to hotel. Difficulty in finding access to hotel as it's sited only on westbound side of M4 and we were travelling eastbound. We had to stop several people to ask directions as one had to travel down a no-entry road, across the motorway bridge and take several right-hand turns to find westbound side for hotel. I hadn't noticed this fact when I booked the hotel but then I didn't book direct, I booked through booking.com and the website didn't provide this information. I would suggest that it is made clear by booking.com that the hotel is on the westbound side only and that finding it from the eastbound side is not easy.
Price was ok
My daughter duvet wasn't clean as you expect and bed sheet wasn't up to standatrds.
It has an auto park nearby in the services area free for guests, you just mark your plate nr in the reception. KFC and Burger King and a market nearby.friendly personnel clean hotel. Good hotel for that price.
a smell that i don't understand,
We've stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions over the past few months and have always been greeted in a friendly and informative manner. Rooms are spacious and clean, the hotel is quiet - everything we needed for an overnight stay.
Clean, comfortable, quiet and at an excellent price. Would definitely stay again.
Not a lot!
(1) The attitude of the reception staff on arrival was not at all good. I believe we were being judged. For a reason I don't understand. (2) The basin in the room was badly cracked, I didn't want to use it. This needs changing quickly as it is a health hazard. (3) There were no pillows for the sofa bed we had to go to reception for some. Receptionist then blamed agency staff. (4) Curtains were hanging off the window rails. (5) The fan in the toilet was very noisy. (6) To get WiFi you had to nearly sign your life over, without agreeing to lots of terms you could not get WiFi, after saying FREE WiFi. (7) But if that was not enough, on going to make a cup of tea, the cup had ASH inside it. Once again agency staff blamed. Does nobody check these rooms? I will avoid Days Inn Hotels in the future.
The lady at reception was very helpful, happy and welcoming when we checked in. She was very apologetic about the smell in our room.
The room smelt awful and was not clean. It smelt damp and stuffy. Opening windows for awhile did not clear the smell and I ended up spring aftershave everywhere to try and mask the stench
Needs better signposting when you leave westbound carriageway, just small signs saying hotel. No mention of DaysInn & it is tucked away being grass mound and service complex.
My room was changed immediately on request. Having wifi in the rooms was excellent and all basic needs were covered. The new room was warm and clean.
The room I was allocated was a non smoking double. When I opened the door, the smell of cigarettes was overpowering. Also the heater did not work and the room was freezing. Not impressed.
Friendly Staff, Comfy bed.
Shower Head broken, water squirted out sideways over the floor. Shower holes are too fine, stingy and not warm enough. Heating was turned on and the room was too hot, only one window opens, and no good airflow. Signage not clear enough, I had to ask for directions to reception.
We really liked the fact that it was so quiet even though we were right next to the M4. Also the amount we got for breakfast - for £4.95 we got cereal with proper milk, croissant, butter, jam, yoghurt, apple and orange juice and kids got the same but free.
We had trouble with the free wifi
As always I leave things to the last minute and this was no different. Visited Lambourn for a wedding with family and all of the so called decent hotels with family rooms were booked up. Was not expecting much from Days Inn but was very surprised. Room was large and clean, the bed was really comfortable and it was the little extras that made it exceptional value for the money. Free broadsheet paper, wifi and posh biscuits with the tea and coffee. Well worth a try.
Cannot really be helped but its a long way round from the direction we were travelling after the wedding, when really it was a mile as the crow flies
I know this will sound odd but the signage is poor, nothing about days inn, as you exit the motorway and as we came from the south west direction there was no mention of signs telling you it was on the side of the motorway! Solution more days inn signs or on the website or your confirmation booking form!
Sorry wrong way round, when we found it a fantastic location and good value for money!
Cracked basin. No toilet paper holder.lu seat loose. Small bed so putuup had to be used. Very difficult to unfold. Extremely uncomfortable. Cldnt connect to wifi. Receptionist unable to help
