Score from 158 reviews Very good
In the centre of St Helier, this independent colonial-style hotel has a seasonal outdoor heated pool and free Wi-Fi. With a bar, restaurant and bright, modern rooms, the harbour is just 1 mile away.
Score from 214 reviews Very good
A lot of decoration has been done and new furniture bought. Looked good. Staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfast excellent.
As we're both disabled, it would have been easier to get into the swimming pool if there was a rail going alongside the steps.
the staff were friendly polite and very helpful i cant wait to return
was nothing i didn't like
Hotel very helpful. Location good. Very nice peaceful stay.
Dirty carpet and bathroom.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and fresh. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay again.
My room was above a busy mini roundabout and it was too noisy to have the window open. The bin in the room had not been emptied from the previous guests.
I can't fault it for value. I've needed to stay in Jersey a couple of times recently, and Hotel De Normandie offers a great price, a good breakfast; choice of cooked options everyday, promptly served with good attention to detail - e.g. I like my eggs poached hard, or porrige with water etc. Plentiful buffet to go along with this. Not amazingly luxurious, but that's not what one would expect at this price point. Tidy and spacious room, good wifi.
Missing a gym. Swimming pool available but quite small and cold. Would be good if the hotel had just a running machine and a xtrainer in a small room, would be better than nothing, although in good weather the beach is right there. :)
The hotel is clean, tidy and convenient. It's not the Ritz and you're not paying Ritz prices. I stay at the hotel quite often and have never had reason to complain.
A heavily tattooed guest was leaning over the reception counter, obviously using a hotel phone, when I checked in. He was swearing (not aggressively) down the phone to his friend (?) about the lack of facilities in Jersey and the fact that there were not many girls around, I did think he was being somewhat optimistic. The receptionist could do little but I think it was inappropriate to even allow the call to be taken there given one has no control over what a heavily tattooed guest may start saying (loudly) in the main reception area.
The room was very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and polite. 20 minute walk to St. Helier or you could catch the bus outide the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again
staff very friendly
hotel just being redecorated no major problems
Breakfast was good!
Check out time is too early for us.
The staff were helpful, especialy for printing the boarding passes for our return trip.
The service in the restaurnat on the Sunday of our stay was slow, however, the quality of the food was fine.
The overall stay was great staff are friendly and very helpful!! Great price great stay !
One night there was a couple of people drunk making a lot of noise but that was the only bad thing I experienced
Staff were very helpful, the whole of the hotel where we were was very clean and tidy.
On our last day (Sunday 14th feb) they must have been really understaffed in the breakfast area, as a lot of people had to wait a long time for their cooked breakfast.
Helpful counter staff. Fair value breakfast freshly cooked. Good pool for size of hotel. Good site in summer I would imagine.
Cold empty restaurant and if you book dinner ahead 'included for £15' you get to eat off the (very unappealing) bar menu up to the value of £15 - so what is point of booking ahead? Go over the road to the White Horse. Flakey wifi connection - v unreliable. A virtually empty hotel yet not automatically upgraded from pretty dismal single room (though was when pointed out that stank of paint as corridor just done). Note that is on main road, os open window and noise ams or closed window and pretty stifling in night. But that is not really their fault.
Location was good The White Horse pub across the road was nice Close to beach
Could barely move in the "bathroom" Room must have been dusty as every time we entered we'd start sneezing and I had to take my inhaler for the first time in months Inside the pillow case looked like it had rotted away - maybe this was the cause of the dust problem and was not pleasant to look at
friendly staff, especially the Portuguese barman.
pity they don't have a full restaurant as the chef is great and deserves a full menu
From reception was clean and nicely decorated, friendly staff, great value for money.
Room 104 spelt damp
Excellent hotel, lovly location with all amenities at hand, very helpful staff, all in all excellent value for the price you pay, its nice to get a bit extra nowdays and the Hotel Normandie certainly goes that little bit extra in all departments
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Shower lacked pressure and was tepid. Temporary breakfast/dinner room was dismal and needed more natural light (when renovations finished hopefully will improve)
The location is good, walkable to town centre (about 10 minutes) but very seasidey, felt like we were on holiday!
A few restaurants and cafe's were closed for the winter season so not much choice nearby for dining out, etc
A bit short on towels, if being picky, hot water took a long time to come through, shower head fixed.
Excellent Staff Good Breakfast Great value Nice and Quiet
Although the hotel is slightly dated, I quite like that fact, this is one thing i find missing from the more modern bland hotels you find today
Liked everything, great value for money
Recently refurbished room. Friendly staff. Excellent Breakfast. Good value.
