Staff were always most helpful and went out of their way to make sure our group of family and friends were made to feel special and comfortable, from moving the newly married couple to the bridal suite, moving tables to allow all 15 of us a memorable dinner!Towels werethick and fluffy and water always hot. The rooms are delightful, big and like the stately Manor that the building has been.Very enjoyable stay.Would not hesitate to rturn if in the area.
friendly helpful staff spacious room with lovely views Quiet location
Dining area lighting too bright. Lovely room but too bright for evening dining
Staff were friendky
There was a fight. Felt very unsafe and uncomfortable
Friendly & helpful staff
TV in the bar area - put it elsewhere, the area isn't designed as a TV room
Loved the old traditional style and ambience. Ate in bar. Very tasty and breakfast also delicious!
Our bathroom for family room was in the eves and awkward. Needs to update leisure facilites. Feels like lack of interest and uncared for. Trading on old reputation but in danger if falling behind.
The rear deck and grounds
Room did'nt get cleaned on one of the days. Room was small for the price. Expected a little more.
We rang to tell them that our arrival would be late, due to long traffic delays, and ask if we would be able to have a meal, they said no problem. They kept the restaurant open late for us. Excellant service
Everything that I saw
Having to leave
The room was nice enough, comfortable bed. Good size bathroom. Lovely grounds.
Breakfast service was very slow. I thought it was fairly overpriced. Not very suitable for the older generation, as even I (at 24) found it difficult to remember how to get to my room, lots of corridors and doors to go through.
Location close to london
Room stank of kitchen waste stored outside the room window. Room120. Took 45 mins to a bar meal served. WiFi broke down overnight. Could not access emails in the morning.
I was in a single room and was at the top of a stairs with another door that lead to another flight of stairs. The constant banging of the doors meant i had very little sleep.I had asked for a quiet room and this was not the case.
Just about everything. The evening meal was really good, our compliments to the chef!
Very friendly and efficient staff
dining area and bar.the pool was quite good The breakfast was very nice.
our family room was tatty ,the bathroom was grubby with dirty paintwork and mastic. The marble was cracked,i had to crouch to get under the shower,we ran out of toilet rolls.only towels for2 guests our grandson had to share ours.there was no duvet for the pull out bed ,when we asked for one we were sent a thin sheet.all in all the vroom looked very tired and dated.
There was nothing not to like!!! Staff are happy and work as a team nothing to dificult to do or help. Thank you
Very old fashioned.
We stayed for a wedding and had a fantastic time. All staff were extremely friendly with the exception of the functions manager who struggled to serve with a smile. Considering this was a wedding I don't think her attitude was appropriate! The hotel is lovely and has really beautful grounds. Would definitely return.
The attitude of the functions manager wasn't the best. She was quite rude when serving drinks and struggled to smile.
Staff friendly, room excellent, food good.
breakfast tired looking rooms
The building and grounds were lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable, the room service was excellent, good beds.
The breakfast hours were not late enough. We were told we had to be in the breakfast room no later than 9:30am, which is too early when one is travelling on holiday, and we had been attending a function quite late the night before.
The food, dated decor, no bath
Staff fantastic food excelent overall good
Found the rooms quite dated and small and the shower room was poor
Very nice building and views
The food was extremely bland for what was suppose to be a gourmet menu. I would not recommend it. Also the staff were rude to a point where they accused me of not paying the bill for my poor dining experience; only to later realise that it had been their mistake regarding payment. No apology was made by various members of staff.
