Breakfast was OK but split across 2 rooms so you had to keep walking backwards and forwards and by 9.30 food was a little scarce......
Room pictures on here are NOT an executive double! Bed tiny, room tiny, wardrobe was a broom cupboard and tv was about 19 inches at a push. Nothing executive at all......
the character of the hotel
bit chilly.....but they are original windows.
We had the room called Elion it was amazing it is decorated tastefully to the rest of the building and there is everything you need! The lady on reception was very helpful even at 23.00 when the batteries in our remote ran out, they were replaced and remote was brought up the the room. The ground were amazing! We went for a walk in the morning and it is a stunning location. :) hotel is very well sign posted and easy to get to. I loved the little touches in the rooms to give it a more cosey and comfortable feel.
Breakfast was aweful, we could have had a better breakfast, continental was very basic and fish was left to warm out in the sun and items that had run out were not replaced, no other option to order anything apart from a full English as your cooked breakfast. Breakfast room was full of dirty plates/tables despite to young girl not being busy, she seemed to like the lecturn and was maybe new, if not she wasn't trained properly.
The room although small was comfortable pleasant and clean, and the en-suite was well equipped.
The food was presented beautifully BUT had no flavor, over cooked, miniature portions and obviously reheated. The room was in an annex and the access through a tight, not so clean ugly stair case very out of place, as was the furniture in the dining area... cheap and plastic in a historic location was a shame.
Beautiful setting, great room, food and staff
Food was great Room small but ample Bed very comfortable Fantastic setting
Service a bit old fashioned Waiters walking past constantly - as if trying to suggest it was time to leave the restaurant Bar too bright -needed dimmed lights to relax a little
I stayed at Chicheley across 2 days for a business conference. The building and it's facilities are stunning. There was a lady called Soniya who attended to us and she was brilliant!!
The facilities within the room were shocking. The phone didn't work, it had a card attached with details of how to reboot so spent 20 minutes trying to reboot the system. There was an aerial on the TV that had to keep being moved in order to get a picture. There was no mini bar. The room was freezing. The shower was cold. Very disappointing as the room looked so nice. I eventually ordered room service which turned up an hour later and was luke warm and not very fresh. Such a shame as the hotel could be something amazing.
The whole feeling of the place from the approach up the drive to the luxurious indoor and outdoor surroundings. It is an oasis of tranquil ,former times, luxury. Our oak panelled bedroom, once the library of this grand house was a visual joy.
Some of young staff needed further basic training.
The setting is beautiful, out in the fresh air of the countryside. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is not much nearby. A walk to the local pub in the afternoon only to find was closed, so the only option for "entertainment" was the over-priced hotel food. The first room stank (I was told it was because of proximity to the toilets, but after moving a considerable distance down the corridor, the problem persisted, though not as bad), the windows were covered in cobwebs (clearly not used or cleaned for some time), and the window lock was actually broken and nobody bothered to fix it, in spite of a request to have a look at it, given that I was on the ground floor, and my room could be entered by simply lifting the window.
The staff were courteous & friendly
It was windy and the TV did not work
Main building is beautiful. Large room, good food in the restaurant
Inexperienced, clumsy and clueless staff at every turn - almost a joke.
Beautiful property in a lovely location. Great gardens with oodles of potential.
Some elements of the housekeeping require attention such as cobwebs in the bathroom and cleanliness around the shower screen seal. Otherwise the property was good. Staff on reception seemed more interested in stoking the real fire than dealing with check ins.
Atchitecture and decoration of the building
Free & Fast WiFi, comfortable bed, VG breakfast, friendly staff, not in the city.
Nice location lovely building
Not enough seating in bar area
the grounds of the hotel were lovely to walk through in the morning after breakfast
Bar menu very limited
We booked the most expensive room available online. We were promised a room of 32m2 but this is not what we got. The room we were given was called Dirac and met the description of a standard double. The staff would not move us even though we were one of the 1st to check in that day. We were on 2nd floor and the shower backed up at flowed out the door when I used it. The staff would not discuss the issue or acknowledge it. Someone was sent to clean up and a lorry arrived with it's pump running close to our window all night to clear the drain. Staff, especially duty manager, were rude and suggested that they were to busy with other problems to discuss mine. I was told to "go to your room" and "discuss later", this did not happen. On check out, I was told that they will give me a better room next time but I am not sure they did enough for that.
Good location to Milton Keynes / Cranfield
The size of the room is very disappointing esp. for an executive room.
Lovely venue very close to Milton Keynes, wifi was good as was room and bed.
Bar was almost non existent and with a limited menu for both bar and restaurant. Staff seemed a little out there of their depth!
The location is a rural setting that has plenty of open space and the facility looks very extravagant with loads of history.
I was being scammed by the desk clerk on arrival. She wanted to overcharge me an tried to put words in my mouth with the booking agent when disputed. She even went so far after not being able to succeed to start crying an trying to put some blame on me and making her self look victimized. It was strange to say the least and I felt completely vulnerable and threatened by this woman. Other staff was normal but she was way over the top, after 2 hours of trying to get into a prearranged booked room. The rooms are small and cramped an wifi is sporadic. The cleaners were banging on the door long before check out and made a huge amount of noise in the morning.
The amazing architecture & decor.
The dark route to some of the rooms.
The building is spectacular views over the gardens and lake just beautiful, beds super comfortable and staff were all first class and extremely helpful
Little bit dusty in places just a small detail but it didn't spoil the stay
no biscuits for the tea making in room
Locaion Staff friendly Quality hotel
Daddy long leggs
