Excellent food in restaurant, helpfull staff, nearness to city centre. Lack of disabled facilities & stupid lift which was not wide enough to hold both a folded wheelchair & person standing, i would like to return for a few days but the lack of disabled facilities in bathroom would deter me, too many hotels don't care or don't realise what trade they are loosing from people like me , who have a minor disability(1 leg amputated) with money to spend. I would expect more from a quality hotel like this. |

Location - close to shopping, restaurants and Cathedral. Very helpful staff. Great view of the Cathedral. Worst internet connection that I have seen in several years. Practically impossible to connect - even for downloading emails less than 50KB each!! Neither at night time, nor in the morning. |

From the point of arrival on Friday 2nd October to departure on Sunday 4th October we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who seemed pleased we were there which is quite refreshing in the hotel sector. The quality of the food was excellent. |

Great location for all attractions in York. Wonderful staff - very friendly and helpful. Great food. Large, comfortable rooms. No air conditioning in the rooms. In summer, this could be very unpleasant. There are two hire AC units for the entire hotel. The rent is 25 per day. The units are large and install in a window. |

Proximity to the Minster, thus enabling us to go frequently to Services. Also wonderful outlook to Minster. Perhaps a very small point---would like the small bathroom bin for tissues etc to have been emptied every day,& breakfast tables a little small for generous breakfasts! |

The location of this hotel, immediately opposite the Minster, is perfect. To sit in the restaurant looking out onto this Gothic masterpiece is a very special experience. For those wanting to explore York on foot, it is ideally placed. My room, at the back of the hotel, overlooked the garden of a neighbouring pub. Regrettably, the pub guests chose to use that area every night starting at around 1100 pm and continuing their very loud raucous enjoyment until well past midnight. My window was bolted open and there was no secondary double glazing. Eventually, I was moved but two of my three nights were badly disturbed. My replacement room at the front of the building was fine. |

This is a small but very well organized hotel located in a period building directly opposite York Minster and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. The railway station is just 10 minutes away on foot - and a pleasant walk. |

A very nice hotel in an excellent location very close to the sights and only a few minutes walk to the station. The staff were particularly efficient and helpful and the food was very good. Room was a bit small. |
