BEST WESTERN PLUS Dean Court Hotel  

Room 31 was quiet - important in the centre of the city - and has a view of the end of the Minster above the roofs. A lovely surprise although I would not say the high window would make it worth a supplement (should you be tempted to add one because of this comment!) Very comfortable bed and linen. This aspect a big plus: good night's sleep from these two points will make me return. Night manager/porter on Friday night excellent ambassador for your hotel. Denis? Older gentleman. Without being asked, gave my nephew and I a complementary pot of tea at 1am, as we were still talking in the lobby. Very much appreciated! Another small touch that will make me return. Price reasonable for the small room size in the best location. Will definitely recommend.

Excellent staff, location

The location was perfect for a York break. We dined in the hotel one night and the food was excellent. Presentation was good, too. I wanted to ask how the napkins were folded. Staff were very helpful - the porters were rushing to take us to our room. Breakfast was good although we didn't have butter on our table the first day and had to ask twice for tea the next day, but that was all - the poached eggs were beautifully cooked. Our cases were looked after for us on check out day as well which was much appreciated.

Our bathroom was a wet room and the water was a little slow to drain.

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and we were checked in within ten minutes helped to our room with our luggage.. The hotel is in a wonderful location right opposite the Minster.

At breakfast we had to ask twice for a couple of items and then made to wait, there was a party of ten in the dinning room and it seemed the staff were pre occupied with them, asked for a morning paper but had to ring reception to ask for it, but above all it is a lovely hotel and will be staying there again .

location was ideally situated and in very pleasant surroundings. staff veryu pleasant and helpfull.Best bed ever slept in for a hotel room. Will definately recommend it for a city break.Food good . Good choice

Location perfect for shopping weekend

This is a friendly, comfortable, classy hotel with an unbeatable location in York. The staff are immediately helpful, and go out of their way to make up for any temporary inconvenience (the elevator was briefly out, and the manager carried our heavy bag upstairs himself). The deluxe rooms are much more spacious than the regular, and worth the small extra, making for a very comfortable stay. The heat in the room — it was very cold this particular weekend — was easily adjustable. We had breakfast at the hotel both mornings, which was impressive in its array at the buffet, while the dishes ordered were excellent. We can't speak to the dining experience, which is otherwise highly rated. There are any number of other restaurants within easy walking distance, and York centre can be walked end to end in twenty minutes from the hotel.

No complaints: except against the municipality, which had closed the walls because of snow, so we couldn't get up on them...

The quality of service, the standard of food and the overall warmth and welcome of the staff were amazing. We'd booked the hotel for our Wedding breakfast and overnight stay, and we weren't disappointed in any way. In fact we were overwhelmed by the standard and the saff can't be faulted at all, as they can't do enough for you.
