All 4 of us had stayed here before, so knew what to expect. We picked it for it's close proximity to Wembley Stadium, where we were going to watch a football match - all that is needed is a taxi to either Uxbridge or Hillingdon underground station, and then it is only a 20 minute train journey. This guest house is excellent value for money, and we would definitely not hesitate staying there again - in fact we were going to re-book on check-out, but our team lost the match (again) !!

The coffee was good, the wifi worked and the shower was good. Although the owners claim no-one else has ever complained, they willingly gave us a discounted rate. We stayed at several B&Bs during out 2 week holiday in the UK, and this was a huge disappointment compared to all the others, which ranged from very nice to exceptional. There is no staff on site at Debden. The room and the linen did not smell fresh. The carpet and walls were stained and some surfaces were dusty. There was no information in the room - there was supposed to be a folder in the hall for several rooms to share, but it wasn't there. Althought the room was large, the arrangement of furniture made it crowded and the TV was mounted ridiculously high on the wall. No effort has been taken with the garden. The milk was sour and sugar bowls empty at breakfast. All in all an unhappy ending to an otherwise excellent holiday.

Pros: The room was lush! Very generously spaced. Fridge, microwave, tv, iron & board, kettle were all in the room. Even plates and cutlery for self-catering. Silky bed linen. High-quality ham for breakfast (as a part of cooked breakfast). Quiet location. Free parking. The best guest house experience in years. Highly recommend! Cons: Coffee at breakfast was so-so. During the night someone forgot the key to the front door and was calling for their room mate from outside for 20 minutes keeping me awake - this can happen anywhere though, so cannot blame the management.

Needed overnight stay between connections at London's Heathrow Airport. This facility was close to the airport. Also, it was close to several pubs (walking distance). Spacious room. No one there when I arrived - had to call a phone number to be given instructions as to how to enter facility. Also had to call that number to obtain information as to where I might obtain a meal. Finally, I was unaware of the required 10 am check out time, so I was in process of getting dressed/packing when I was literally forced from room. Was allowed to use hallway bathroom to finish preparations, but moving all my things to that location caused me to lose time. Bathroom sink there would not empty and the only staff person remaining in the house by that time spoke no English and was unable to help me. She did not even want to come up the one set of stairs so I could illustrate the problem.

Good value for money - owner very friendly - good parking appreciated being able to leave our car early the day of occupation While it didn't happen to us as we arrived about 10am and owner still on site due to cooking breakfast. There is a note on the door that if she isn't there to phone. Ok if you have a mobile but if not inconvenient. The owner doesn't live on site.

Friendliness of owner - good breakfast Relying upon a mobile phone to make contact upon arrival - if someone doesnt have a mobile, they are going to have difficulties gaining access.

The room was ok value for two people. Wouldn't pay that much for one. There was noone to meet us upon arrival and the only time someone was there was for breakfast in the morning - to provide food and take money, but she was very nice. The room was qutie small the bed was old and not very comfortable, the springs in the mattress could be felt quite easily.

“We chose this hotel because of its location for picking up the M25, M4, Heathrow only 10 mins by car, also right outside the hotel you have plenty of buses and the Underground at Uxbridge takes you right to central London for all the attractions. The check-in was very friendly and quick, room was extremely clean, very comfy bed, clean towels everyday, tea and coffee making facilities and added extras like iron, fridge, safe and free wifi. We had a great weekend and would definately use the hotel again.” Carol, Uddingston |
