Rooms are comfortable, good breafast but lack of choice at the buffet. Good location if you are travelling in the cotswold buy car.

Rooms 25 can hear all noises from upstair room 26. So to avoid. We had family upstair so it was not awful but we could hear them walking, speaking ect... We paid 109£ per room which was overall I think expensive and not a very good value for money, even during a bank holiday week end.

Very good clean hotel with helpful staff. Did not have time to experience any leisure facilities.Eating experience limited but very enjoyable.

We got a great rate by booking at the last minute, thank you booking.com! The food and hospitality is fantastic, nothing too much trouble, evening dinner was exceptional. Bathroom was a good size, well fitted and very warm. We were sure there was underfloor heating, but the receptionist said that there wasn'T.....nice and warm anyway!

Couple of problems with the room/housekeeping which the lady on reception was at pains to take note of, so I'm sure they will be dealt with for future guests. Not sure we would pay the normal rate of £109 for the double room, it was compact and I didn't like the high sides of the integrated wardrobe/bedside tables unit being next to my head, but fine for a single occupant

Location in village was good. Restaurant food was good. Lounge area with open fire was welcoming. Bedroom was warm.

Our room needed some attention, i.e. bathroom had chipped enamel bath and sink plunger did not work. The bar area on occasions was like a sports bar with noisy football and language of some people quite ripe. Would expect this in a public bar not a residential area. For the rate charged, which is quite expensive, together with price of drinks do not think this quite meets the standards of a hotel.

The only fault was no Broadband access!! 21st century folks..

The atmosphere was very conducive to meet friends and the menu was extensive to meet all taste. Having coffee by the log fire after lunch was great. We also enjoy the excellent ales .

Leaking wash basin plug which wasn't fixed during our stay. Under floor heating which could not be adjusted rendering the room too warm at night.

On arrival our room (22) was excessively hot & stuffy. After opening the windows we found operating the aircon with the remote control to be impossible so called reception for help. The receptionist was unable to assist as she was as unfamiliar as us with the controls. While we were at dinner another member of staff grappled with the device and left it cooling the room but also making sufficient noise as to make sleep impossible. We turned the AC off & opened the windows wide at bedtime but the room remained uncomfortably warm for some hours. During these events we noticed that the floor at the foot of the bed was warm!! Things were a little better the following night as our handling of the situation improved but the room temperature remained difficult to manage. At check out on Monday morning a different receptionist revealed what we suspected; that hot water pipes ran beneath the floor of room 22 which is why the AC had been installed!! In view of the above why are there no instructions for the AC controller in the room? All members of staff who are likely to be asked should be familiar with this controller. If it is known that room 22 is to be occupied then the AC should be set in advance of the guests' arrival in order to render the room habitable.

Pints of beer not full 1 hour wait for breakfast after arriving in breakfast room, unbelievable because it was not at all busy

Once again my Key Card did not allow access to my room when I returned at midnight, No it had not been placed next to a mobile phone. There was a phone number to call for assistance and I had no phone access as my battery was dead, they should provide a phone to the helpline that is available not just a piece of paper on the door.

Very friendly staff; good location; excellent breakfast and reasonably priced.

My room was a bit small, but nothing of any consequence.

Room was cramped and small with no ac and very little natural light. Could not stand upright in shower. There was no room service. The staff were not very welcoming and even told us the wrong times for breakfast. The food in the restaurant was no better than average. It was very expensive for what it was. Previous reviews misled us into thinking it would be quite a special place to stay which was not true

The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. There was a good selection of different starter main and desert courses and the food was well presented. The location is good and easy to find. It was very quite at night with no discernible traffic noise.

The original building was full of character and our room was unusual in that it was on two levels with a tiny lounge and bathroom at ground level and the bedroom upstairs which was comfortable and clean.

The bar area was very small and tended to be very crowded.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier. From my initial contact with the hotel I received a better then normal customer service experience.

I had previously requested a quiet room due to having difficulty sleeping and I was given a room which backed onto the road adjacent to the School. Although it was half term there was quite a lot of vehicular activity and this did affect my stay. I had previously been told that the Hotel was full so unless I was going to check out and find somewhere else at 8pm, I had few options. I was then told that the restaurant was full and couldn't accomodate my wife and I until 9.30pm - too late for anyone to eat really.It would have helped if I'd been advised to book earlier. The bath taps dripped quite badly and could be heard from the bedroom. Not worth £109.

Have stayed here many times. Find it relaxing and very pleasant.
