Staff were attentive and friendly quiet environment Food truly excellent
bed far too soft limited access to pool/steam/hot tub which was disappointing baring in mind a spa hotel jets on hot tub not working
+ the location (amazing scenery) + the very kind and helpful staff + the fresh food at the restaurant + the swimming pool/heating room and the gym + the excellent night sleep (comfy beds and very quiet)
- the opening hours of the swimming pool were not very convenient.
I liked the friendliness of the staff and the accommodating atmosphere.
Other guests weren't to friendly but that is no fault of the Hotel.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff who made up for any shortcomings, the location/view, the breakfast choice, the free tea/coffee and cake upon arrival and the pool - despite limited usage times.
I would stay again - largely due to the views and the staff. However, I wouldn't say this was a four star hotel - our toilet stuck after flushing, causing it to run for minutes; the rooms were very warm with the heating off, but facing onto the A66 meant it was too noisy to leave the window open; the pool is lovely but I would suggest that the times when it's in use by kids is when most guests would want to use it; the hot tub wasn't working (with no explanation); our TV would cut out randomly on terrestrial channels and there were many signs of aging decor in our room and the hotel's public areas.
No where to hang towels - so towels remained damp
We loved everything, it was a perfect get away with all necessities in the kitchen, perfect for our barbeque on the spacious balcony.
Low beams in mezzanine room (daughter still has a black eye).
location awesome kitchen great room value for money
Room had lovely views Lovely room for meals Staff were excellent Great choice for breakfast Good evening meal Pool
Shower door handle was broken and seal was broken at the bottom Noise from room above woke us very early one morning(not hotels fault) but rest of stay was fine
Location and family apartment was excellent
Wifi signals were poor
Uncomfortable and too small bed, noisy with kids and not great value given the price.
Fast check in, always smiling ready to go an extra mile staff. Beds and duvets were very comfortable. Top quality furnishings,The location is superb.
some continuous noise was disturbing the sleep during the night.(Ulswater family room). Swimming pool has to be made available more often.
Eclectic mix of rooms (hotel style rooms mixed with apartments for larger groups) Lovely eating are & can visualise winters curled up in front of the log burner
Appreciate the pool facilities are being used by community groups but residents usage times were quite restrictive & hence after being out most of the day couldn't benefit from a lovely dip in the pool later in the evening-& come rain or shine a hot tub is v beneficial after walking round the Lakes to bubble away the aches ( please try to fix itas would revisits if facilities like this were freely available & I chose this hotel against another due to the facilities!)
the service was exceptional, the staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. We stayed in an apartment within the hotel which was ideally spacious and comfortable given that there were 4 adults and 2 children! Having the kitchen in the apartment was really convenient and gave us flexibility. The food in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. The chef went out of his way to cater for our party 3 of whom have special dietary needs. the views from the hotel were lovely and we were within easy reach of places to visit. all the family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would love to go back.
if staying longer and cooking more often the kitchen could have used a couple of additional items e.g. grill tray, dish towel, dust pan and brush. We did need to ask for a frying pan, however, the staff were great and sorted one for us straight away.
Room cost was very expensive for the quality of the room and venue. The bathroom ws not clean and smelt.
Very friendly staff
nice place, spacious clean rooms, friendly staff
very noisy. You could hear everyone having a shower, etc
Food was excellent, staff were excellent, room was large and comfortable and easily accommodated 4 adults. Location was great.
This is not what i would call a spa hotel, the outside hot tub didn't work, small jacuzzi in swimming pool ( 2 jets in corners ok if you want your elbows massaged!) pool only available a few hours in morning and evening. The 'spa' treatments are carried out in your room by an external beauty therapy company. My wife and her friend both had treatments, my wife said her massage was very poor. Her friend was pregnant and I confirmed this with the salon's manager before arrival and she assured me a treatment would be available that was safe and we could discuss what we wanted on the day, however the young girl who turned up said she wasn't qualified to treat pregnant women and didn't feel comfortable carrying out any treatments, after about 20 minutes deliberation and trying a few times, unsuccessfully,to ring her manager she eventually agreed to a facial. All in all a lovely hotel, great food and staff but not ideal if you are looking for a nice spa day or weekend
Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The room was big and bathroom spacious with a wide bath and shower. Tv had plenty of channel's to choose from. The location was perfect and we had a very romantic/relaxing holiday will return again.
The hotel was in a lovely spot overlooking the mountains. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was lovely. We used the pool during our stay which the children really enjoyed.
Location,friendly helpful staff,Leisure facilities.
Poor wifi connection.
Hotel is located in a peaceful and tranquility area. The hotel staff were at all times friendly, smiling, and attentive. Breakfast and dinner was excellent.
No mobile network and wifi connection was poor. Not even a telephone in the room.
The staff are wonderful and the facilities exceptional. It is situated in a very rural location, but beautiful. It is also near the Wordworth museum which is very nice.
There was nothing we didn't like. Fond memories all round.
The location and facilities were excellent. Staff very accommodating. Provided for a large family holiday plus extended family gathering. Many thanks.
Only having one key for each room.
The restaurant was excellent, with an imaginative menu and excellent cuisine. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, and service was always prompt. The views from the hotel were magnificent. We felt personally welcome in a very relaxed and friendly environment.
Unfortunately the pool was unavailable for most of our stay, as it was under repair. The shower in our bathroom ran at a trickle after a while - a blockage? While most of the suite was beautifully clean, there was a roll-up stub on the window ledge, a grubby hand print on the carpet of the livingroom, and a couple of cobwebs in the bedroom. We were not too put off by this, but others might be. The location was super, but the road could be quite noisy at night-time.
