Breakfast was expensive and not very nice
The price of the breakfast
location, pet friendly, 1 night stays
Food have had a better breakfast elsewhere
Room had lake view. Breakfast was excellent.
The grounds are worth a look
quiet location, but within easy walking ,or driving distance of many great places.
m wife has various food allergies, one night there was nothing on the menu she could take,we aske for qn omelette for her,the chef refused to make it because it was not on the menu.
Very nice room, very comfortable and spacious nice to have a bath and shower in the en suite, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, excellent location just 15 min walk to the centre of keswick which was even fairly pleasent in the drizzle.
View of the lovely garden at breakfast. Walk through the garden to the lake. Spacious comfortable room with view of Skiddaw fell. Free use of a beautiful spa.
Staff really pleasant and helpful
Good size room, comfortable bed.
Dirty 1980's bathroom, you will notice from the hotel's website that there is no pictures of bathrooms! Bar and consevatory area lacked atmosphere, can't comment about the restaurant as only ate breakfast there, but couldn't see the lake as the double glazing was misted over. Receptionist really rude when checking out, no manners to even ask how your stay was!
The view from room of the lake was an added bonus but the whole stay was excellent value for money and we would not hesitate in returning and recommending the hotel to others
The location of this hotel is great and the veiws over the lakes are amazing and something to be made the most of. The interiors are nice and clean although the bath rooms slightly dated In my standard double.
The biggest let down of this hotel had to be the food! Whether a business traveller or holiday maker one of the biggest things is the food especially breakfast, I went for a full English with scrambled eggs, I have no idea what happened to the eggs but they resembled nothing like scrambled eggs, the rest was quite small portions and I was not offered any sauces. I had also had dinner at the hotel the night before and had the Indian selection to start which was very small and had clearly come out of a packet all for nearly £6! For mains I had the chef special which was a red Thai curry this for nearly £10, this was all sauce and I would be very surprised if this was home made as it had no flavour! All in all it completely let down my stay at the hotel.
Well placed for exploring the lakes. Good walks from hotel no need to use car. Lovely view of Lake from bedroom.
Could do with some updating the dining room looks a bit tired.
Beds comfy and in nice location
When requested extra toast and utter with breakfast staff weren't happy and refused extra butter.
A nice warm bedroom!
Having, on arrival, to drive all the way round Derwenwater to access the hotel, but this was nothing to do with the Hotel. Road closure was affecting staff as much as guests.
Shower was awful, bath was unusable due to small size. Whole bathroom was no bigger than a storage cupboard. The bedroom itself was ok, but overall, for the money we paid, I would not revisit or recommend
lack of empathy on news of my mothers illness and my wife and i having to leave a day early
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, comfortable, well maintained with a lovely view over the lake. I'd definitely recommend it..excellent value for money!!
The shower barely a trickle, wifi didn't work, check in too late at 3pm, décor a little dated, menu uninspiring!!
Good location, staff fine, breakfast adequate. gardens very pleasant.
Décor very dated. Damp in the room. Dog felt more like a hinderance than a welcomed pet.bed was uncomfortable.
Location is perfect for access to the fells and for walkers.
Shower was barely a trickle, fod was abysmal.
The location was great view lovely
The window didnt close properly so when heating was off it was a bit cold
