Great location, lovely gardens and views out of the bedroom window, was extremely cheap to stay!
Needs some updating, a bit shabby around the edges. We couldn't take our dog to breakfast and told to leave him in the room, we asked if we could have our breakfast in the conservatory which was dog friendly but we were told no, they were short on staff. As we were leaving later on though, saw some other guests eating breakfast there.
Not a bad location, breakfast was very satisfactory, staff courteous, lovely grounds.
Tired look of inside of hotel, needs money spent on it, as it is very shabby with rucked carpets in places. Also room 104 floor has terrible slope on it and subsidence crack in tiles in bathroom.
Grass to long on putting green put into small double room not good value for amount paid
location and grounds are fantastic Room had a great view good entertainment on one night excellent breakfast
poor choice for food and wine
We like everything about the hotel. This is our 2nd visit this year but we come every year.
Food Grounds Location
Our room was dated and the room was not clean ie dirty skirting boards and dust under bed and the towels were grey not white. Our bathroom was filthy with cracked floor tiles and an over bath shower that just trickled water out so unable to use . I have pictures on my phone to prive thus
Location, reception staff
Cleanliness and quality of rooms
Needs a lot of work!
Good value accommodation compared to other Lake District hotels and in a lovely quiet location.Comfortable modern bedroom.
Car park is small for the size of the hotel. I have had better hotel breakfasts : scrambled eggs were dry & overcooked; full English was a buffet selection and therefore hit-or-miss whether you got hot or cold items depending on how long food was on display; fresh fruit selection was poor (one small bowl) and bizarrely grapefruit segments had to be ordered from the waitress.
location and setting. Dog friendly. Good size room.
Location is great Basic comfort and clean
Not for luxury.
Location and facility's
Always enjoy the lake and wandering around Keswick
Fantastic location.nice garden and walk down to lake. Easy walking into Keswick. Good value for money. Staff all very friendly.
Your first point of entry was the conservatory which was a little shabby giving perhaps the wrong impression. But still pleasant to sit in with nice views.Generally needs a lick of paint everywhere.Garden trees growing up rapidly and will soon restrict lake views ,needed trimming back.
Lobby in serious need of a face lift- especially lumpy carpet- a health & safety risk in my opinion. Indifferent staff Poor breakfast& unfriendly, badly trained disinterested waitresses too busy setting tables & ignoring breakfast guests. Overpriced considering the bad service etc
Gardens Village location Walk to lakeside Good breakfast
Didn't know dogs we're allowed in rooms before booking. Torn, worn chair arms in room. Wrinkled carpets throughout reception area dangerous. Poor quality fittings in bathroom. Generally tired and needs a refurb. Modern cleaner look in rooms would be better than florals.
Appalling rude staff
Breakfast doesn't start till 8am which was too late for me so I didn't get any
Service was efficient and staff helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent if you don't want to be in the midst of town but surrounded by nature. Gluten free bread was provided for me for breakfast.
You can only use wifi in the small sitting room next to reception. No wifi in rooms. There should be a bigger selection of food for breakfast including cold cuts and cheese.
Location, rooms & bed
reception area carpet warped and in poor order, the same applied in the communal areas and restaurant
Location was good
Beds not comfortable, Dinner in the restuarant exstremely poor especially for the cost. Overal would not recommend this hotel.
Fantastic setting. Great view. Pleasant and relaxing.
Breakfast could be better. New carpet needed on ground floor. (Or relaid to remove the bumps!).
The location is excellent. Walking distance to Keswick
Every meal the waitresses got our order wrong somehow. We were woken up at 7 each morning by the breakfast room under our room.
