I stayed in the Desalis for one night prior to an early morning flight from stansted. I enjoyed my stay immensely. For the price I expected a dingy, budget hotel. I got a surprise. Clean, comfortable rooms. Not perhaps the most modern or well maintained bathrooms, but not the worst. The restaurant is Indian,catering for a wide range of tastes, and I guess the hotel is simalarly managed/owned. The decor, perfumes and ambiance gave me the immression that I was on holiday in the orient. Breakfast from 4am for those early flights. I booked the room following the death of my father and this hotel put the smile back on my face.

Is perfect if you have to spend a night close to the airport. It's 5 minutes away by car and they have a really good taxi services. Minimal breakfast and the room wasn't really clean.

Proximity to Stansted airport which was the reason for booking it. Ate in the Indian restaurant where the food was good apart from the inedible lamb that was impossibly tough. In the morning there was no hot water in the room and it was impossible to find anyone at reception.

The possibility to leave our car parked at the hotel with very quick transfer. We could put our minds at rest that we will be at the airport on time and the car is in safe hands. Free parking for 5 days is good value for money. Very friendly owners and staff. Large, comfortable room. Not really a fan of Indian food (although it was very good) so would be a plus if more continental food is offered at the hotel. Although the room was extremely clean, there was a strange smell in the room (a dodgy men's after-shave spray) but I understand that when hotel is full it is difficult to air the room quickly after each guests.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent Indian cuisine in the restaurant (the best cjhicken tikka in years!!!). Good and inexpensive (but not free) shuttle service to/from Stansted airport (<10 min drive). Good value for money Wifi a bit insufficient. Continental breakfast could have been better.

I had an early-morning flight to France several days after Christmas. I chose the Desalis Hotel because A.) it was close to Stansted Airport and b.) offered a shuttle service to the airport. It was a satisfactory stay; the room was comfortable and the staff efficient. I found the decor slightly over-the-top.

The location of the Hotel is not what we expected to be close to the airport. We had to spend additional money to get there. Website did not indicate that airport shuttle was available. We also paid for breakfast and the quality of food was disgusting. The croissant, cheese and meat was old. For the amount of money we spent on breakfast we could had a really meal at McDonald. Also, the bathroom in the hotel was disgusting as well. The drain in the shower was backed up. I would not stay at this hotel again!

The price and proximity to Stansted It is very dated, the room was cleanish but very old fashioned and the bathroom was strange, with a shower over a non working spa bath and no shower screen. Strange smell in the room too, as if it is normally used by smokers and had been Fabreezed!

The room was very clean and well equipped, (iron, hairdryer, large kettle and proper mugs etc) Room well sound proofed so could hardly hear aeroplane noise despite proximity to airport. Nice bathroom. The hotel only seemed geared up for one night stays. We weren't told we had to upgrade on the second night if we wanted anything other than self serve breakfast and there were barely any staff available in morning. (I had to actually actually walk into the kitchen to get attention as there was no-one else about and no response to the call button at reception). Car park poorly lit. Bed too small.
