The main thing is the location which is a few steps from the train station of Warveley and all shops and banks around!
The mattress ... Not bad, but for the standard of furnishings and decor of the apartment could be of better quality!
Second stay at the apartments. Location is fab so central. The room was very well appointed and the bed comfortable. Excellent smart tv with net flicks thrown in. Would stay again for sure. Thank you St Andrews.
Stairs up to first floor very steep not for the elderly.
location was good apartment very neat and tidy
proximity to mcdonalds noisy in the morning while deliveries were dropped off
interior top notch and location to train station.
large groups of youths hanging around the external door(next door to Mcdonalds).
Apartment 10 excellent views and decor. Near everything
Stairs up to lift but can't be helped
Location is great and is a short walk to the Scott monument, a street view of Edinburgh Castle, Waverley train station and other features. We went on some tours with the Wee Red Bus company which was conveniently located near the Waverley train station so we didn't have far to walk to and from the pick up/drop off point. The keyless entry system is innovative and efficient. Room is clean and everything is provided for in the few days we stayed. Bed linen is clean and good thread count. Towels are clean and very useable. Complimentary small bottles of shower gel and shampoo are provided but they will be good for a day or two. Kitchen amenities are clean and well equipped. A washer/dryer, fridge and dishwasher are provided. In room WIFI signal is strong and fast. The admin staff are cheery and helpful. When I expected a letter it was quickly sorted out and delivered to the room without fuss. The interior of the refurbished building has lots of charm and the staircase is a great feature. The room has good lighting and airy and smelled clean.
The mattress sagged in the middle and did not provide the best sleep quality. The floor is uneven so when placing items on the table they roll off. It's an old building so that's understandable. Lots of stairs to go up to the apartment. A modern but quirky, slow and very compact lift is in the building to the upper floors. Even getting to the lift will require some effort and will be unsuitable for people with limited mobility or in wheelchair. There is a fast food place directly under the apartments so you might smell food being cooked in the lower rooms on occasion and the sound of the trash being emptied in the morning. It wasn't an issue for me but it may be for some other guests. Expect to see some homeless sitting in front of the fast food place or some smokers grabbing a puff in the entrance way to the apartment.
The décor was lovely and the rooms were clean
The view of the bins out of the window but I understand that this is unavoidable
Fantastic location, opp Waverley station for train and airport link, 3 mins walk to St Andrew Square tram stop perfect location, spacious 2 bed apart on top floor was v peaceful
Minor housekeeping issues addressed locally. But would still return
Quality of fixtures and fittings location and ease of check in and otu using pin numbers only.
Almost everything was excellent. However, noise of boiler in the room was exceptionally loud. We did contact the emergency number given to us to ask if we can turn this off but didnt hear back.
The apartment was very cleverly designed to optimise space. Very comfortable for the two of us. Location was great, a hundred yards or so from the tram stop and a matter of minutes from Waverley Station. Numeric entry using number given by Destiny meant no keys were required, very handy we thought. All in all very comfortable.
Our main concern was that the heating boiler located by the kitchen was on the noisy side. Additionally, we were unable to activate the heat rail in the bathroom to air the towels properly. The book of instructions for the apartment was a little light on information.
Location Ease of check in and out Cleanliness Facilities - including free wifi Biscuits! Friendliness of the staff Accommodating/flexible on checkout
Nothing to dislike!
Great location, near shopping area and main attractions.
The bed in the apartment was really really poor, you can't have a bed like that and call it 4stars. Also it was very noisy since you could hear everything in another apartment which was a bit disturbing at night.
Excellent condition and great location. Best bang for the buck.
the long flight of stairs
Good location, secure and easy access.
More bed sit than corporate apartment. The bed faces the entrance door, poly cotton sheets, and cheap pillows. The apartment was a lot smaller than I expected, but maybe they are of different dimensions and I was unlucky. Our main view was of a street of a long line of large rubbish bins. Over priced for what it was, after our visit we had a marvellous stay at a Malmaison City hotel, for £30 less! a night and including dinner for two, a bottle of wine and cocktails, big towels and pure cotton sheets. It was a promotion but I still felt I had over paid at the Destiny Scotland property.
Size, layout, facilities, location. The separate sitting area was very nice and easy to relax. No noise between units but loose (rattling) windows a problem. Easy walking distance to most major attractions.
Rated sleep poor due to loose outer windows which rattled very loudly with any wind keeping us awake. Street noise also bad. Long stairway at entrance inconvenient if you have heavy luggage as we did. Difficult to resolve any issues as there is no reception and only an emergency number after hours. My request for early check-in never did get a response.
Location was excellent and close to everything we needed as tourists - trams, information centre, shopping, railway station, hop on busses were all less than 3 minutes walk.
Check in process was OK but as we wanted to check in early it became a little cumbersome. Ability to leave luggage at the apartments on check out was not available. Windows opened up onto an alley that had garbage collection early in the morning - not a big issue but could be for some people.
Rear bedroom was noisy due to service road behind property
The apartment had a very modern design and was overall quite spacious and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was excellent and the wifi was stable and easy to use. The soundproofing with the street was also effective.
The bed was far too small. While i am a tall person (6'7") and expect my feet will overhang most beds, my wife is 5'11" and even her feet were right on the edge of the bed. It was also quite narrow.
clean, comfy, wifi, secure
room location facing bins and noisy generators
Fab location and would definitley stay here again if I was travelling to Edinburgh
We got an upgrade last minute, not sure why, but we were put in a luxury apartment, as oppose to the cheapest standard one we'd booked...it was fantastic!
Location. Decor. Facilities. WiFi. Cleanliness. Price. Access at Destiny Scotland office, staff. Would def use again.
Air con noise from KFC below, can't be helped. Bathroom door hard to close/ lock. Box of tissues in bathroom would have been excellent (but that's v picky of me).
