Comfortable rooms. Location. The Boat House food and staff were excellent had the best mackerall we have ever tasted. The staff on reception were very helpfull as were the staff in the spa/pool also cleaning staff were very helpfull and pleasant. catering for breakfast. We were not allowed to choose our own table we were told were to sit..While the scottish cooked breakfast was excellent the same could not be said of the servcice and cold food. Cameron House appears to cater more for weddings and conferances than the individual guests. Sliced fruit; example melon once this was gone no more was put out even on request when there was still an hour to go before breakfast ended. No prunes were put out on any of the four mornings of our stay even though they were on the menu and we requested them. White toast was placed on the breakfast table without us requesting it; we only eat brown bread; we were not given a choice.. The coffee was served in a tea pot; my wife is not a tea drinker; we were told they did not have have enough plungers for coffee for all the requests. Our drinks white wine and whisky with ice were left on the Great Scotts Bar for half an hour until we went over and collected them ourselves the ice had melted and the wine was warm; the wine was measured short and was not 250ml even thought we were charged for for a large. There were three other people in the Scotts bar the staff were not busy however that had had a wedding party in earlier. We never wnet in again for a drink during the rest of our stay. Our family stayedd at Cameron last February and recommended the service and breakfast; has there been cut backs since then? Do they make more monty on weddings and conferances than individual guests?

We enjoyed the relaxed nature of the place, the facilities were excellent. Its location was good for the reason we were in the area, close to the city as well as to the countryside for walking. We ate at the Boathouse on the first night and were disappointed at the standard of the food and felt it was a bit expensive, comparing it to other places we have dined at of a similar style/menu.

The location was fantastic the staff were very friendly and I would reccomend a stay here. It was however at a premium price! We booked The Boat House restuarant for our 24th wedding anniversary dinner. Service was slow and we were very dissapointed that despite the wine list offering a number of different champagnes, only one was available and even this was not chilled! After asking for a couple of minutes to review a different choice we were dissapointed that the waitress never returned. We had to ask for cutlery & serviettes and eventually had to ask a passing member of staff for wine. Not wanting to upset what was a special evening for us we chose not to complain, but feel that for an extremely high end hotel this restuarant failed to meet the standard expected.

We had an upgraded room so the accommodation was wonderful The food and wine was very overpriced and not to the standard I would have expected in a quality Hotel. I was apalled to be told by the receptionist when paying the account that I would have to pay a 2.5% surcharge if I wished to pay by credit card. This is penny-pinching and does the Hotel no favours at all.

Breakfast. Amazing pastries!!! Lovely rooms, bar, great pool area and gym. Beautiful setting and views. Some information on the website is a bit misleading as the Spa is actually a car trip from the hotel and the rooftop infinity pool is part of the spa, not the hotel though the pool at the hotel is lovely. Meals at The Grill are very expensive with limited options and you pay extra for any potatoes or veg on top of this! The cheapest wine in The Boathouse and The Grill at £27 seemed a very overpriced Shiraz/Grenache. I would reccommend B&B as good value for money.

Enjoyed setting, leisure facilities and decor, although stair carpet needed to be addressed especially for a 5 star establishment. Breakfast is set up as different help yourself stations. We found hot section food was cold and even a La Carte section on menu was not freshly prepared - not up to 5 star rating ! Breakfast tables were not cleared either after being vacated or during your breakfast.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome- our luggage was taken to our room and our car parked very efficiently. Our room was extremely well appointed and comfortable with a lovely view over Loch Lomond. The service from bar and restaurant staff was relaxed friendly and unobtrusive. Lovedthe wet room in our en-suite and Martin Wishaart's restuarant was devine.

We took advantage of an upgrade offer to a suite which was perfect. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The meals we had, both in the Boathouse and Cameron Grill were average which was a bit disappointing as they weren't cheap and certainly not value for money. The buffet breakfast was like a canteen. The cooked selection was never hot or fresh unless you waited for a fried or poached egg - by then anything on the plate was even colder!

The hotel staff could not have been more helpfull, nothing was too much effort. You need not have moved from the hotel during your stay, there was enough to keep you occupied for at least a week. Infact your money would probably have run out before your energy. A fantastic place to visit if you have little time and lots of money. In fairness to the Hotel they deserve there five stars it was excellent, especially the Martin Wishart restaurant which we dined in on our first night. I look forward to returning.

Very tranquil and relaxing. Particularly liked the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Dirty seats in the restaurants. Although staff did clean the tables they swept the crumbs on to the seats. At every restaurant and bar we found the same problem.

Excellent service and although a couple of things went wrong very good response from staff. They are clearly empowered to offer recompense or put things right. The spa (extra cost) is superb and the environment is beautiful. This is a very traditional hotel and quite formal, so compared to say urban 5 star hotels it feels quite staid. Also very popular for weddings which can be a drawback for other guests. The lack of information in the room was a bit of a mystery - it took us until day 2 to find there was a restaurant choice availalbe - and would not have chosen to eat at the Boathouse family restaurant if we had known.

We experienced a fantastic 3 days at Cameron House. The location is beautiful. I requested on my booking that if possible could we have a room with a view as it was a suprise for my husbands birthday,we were allocated a room with the best view in the hotel overlooking the Loch. There was a hand written card from the manager wishing a Happy Birthday and a pleasant stay, this was a really nice touch. The rooms are luxurious and extremely comfortable, all areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The staff in the restaurants and reception areas were very helpful. We would definately go again.

This was a last minute reduced rate deal and our room was down a spiral staircase so I felt a bit disappointed at first but no need as the room was really nice with a beautiful view of the loch. All staff were extremely efficient and friendly, particularly Gabrielle who welcomed us on arrival. W e had a meal at the Grill on our second night and although my husband and myself enjoyed our meals we both felt there wasn't a great deal of choice on the menu and the meals were overpriced ( not value for money) We had considered having a meal in our room and to be honest I preferred the choice on the room service menu.

The hotel was occupied by far too many badly behaved children. Two of our party were unhappy with the quality of our steaks. This information was passed to our waiter who apologised who said he would mention it to the chef. The air conditioning was fierce and when the ladies spoke to the waiter, they were told to put on jackets.

A very enjoyable stay. Room was comfortable and clean with good quality fixtures and fittings. Iron and ironing board /good quality hair drier / fridge were provided. Summer deal price gave us a room with no real view which was the only real negative. Well placed for days out and road conections. Easily able to use the free broadband in our room to book a further 2 night stay at Cameron House as London had riots and we needed to book additional accommodation. Had a really enjoyable stay and would definately book again. Not a real complaint but more of an observation. No lid covering the loo seat. Would not choose a wet room style shower as choice as the whole bathroom floor becomes flooded when taking a shower.

The main Hotel Building was very impressive along with the extensive grounds including the 'wee Demon' Golf Course which suited my wife very well. The Great Scots Bar was very comfortable and the food in the Cameron Grill very good. On the downside the service in the Boat House on 2 separate occasions was not up to the standard as that of in main Hotel building, also I was surprised that the only was that I could get a drink on the patio outside the Leisure facilities was by getting it myself. The 'Cream Tea' on the Patio menu does not include 'Tea' and again the only way I could get this was to go to the Great Scots bar myself. That said overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location, Hotel very clean - facilities are good. The spa is additional charge. Food Great, breakfast very substantial Service was disappointing, we waited over 45 minutes to be seated at the boat house - we were never seated. Went back to main hotel complained and they placed us else where for eating with complimentary bottle of wine but we were eating 1.5 hours after we planned to eat. In general the service in all the places was extremly slow even if you ordered a drink however the staff themselves were really nice when you did finally get served

The room was excellent and comfortable and the spa was fantastic. The service charge on champage which had been ordered for us and the person ordering had not been informed but the recipient was charged. Bad organisation as there was a wedding on at the time of arrival for guests. I would not have liked that on my wedding day.

Beautiful situation, luxurious hotel Although our room rate on this occassion was good for a 5* hotel ,hence why we booked, the price of food and beverage in the bars and restaurants was ridiculous. It cost me over £4 just for a cup of coffee and I had to wait a long time to get it as I had to ask to be served as they hadnt noticed me arrive.

Fantastic views from a luxurious and extremely comfortable hotel. Food was as you would expect from a 5 star hotel and plenty of sports and activities. The location was perfect and peaceful. There was also a great choice of restaurants and bars in the hotel and in the vast grounds of the hotel too. We have recommended to family and friends as it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Must point out that the staff were very friendly and helpful too.

I found Cameron House to be a reasonable hotel. The location is awesome. Stunning views. However the hotel I can only describe as being ok. It didn't have the wow factor I was expecting having looked at the hotel's own website or on reading independent reviews. Have stayed in better hotels for the same cost. Nothing particularly negative.
