Peaceful location

Bedside lamps too dim and hard to reach to switch off and on.

The in room tv was out of the the ark, and the picture quality was abysmal - but wasn't there for that

Location is unbeatable, bed comfy, staff helpful. Kudos to Debbie from leisures' booking: her colleague has made a mistake while signing me up to a spa session. I wanted to go on the day of our departure, went to the Carrick Spa by 10 A.M. only to find out that the booking is on the next morning. Back at Cameron House Debbie has offered us a complimentary cruise over Loch Lomond - which we could not make as already did the same a day earlier; but the fact was nice and Debbie was adorable.

As it was a banking holiday, the hotel was quite crowded - and on the contrary to my previous experience (August 2012) we felt rather neglected at the hotel. Ordered room service: despite the fact that the dishes arrived promptly, the soup was tepid. Then we found out that a spoon was missing - another 10 min wait. Then there was no salt&pepper to be seen on our tray - decided not to wait more, this was getting ridiculous. Plus crowds on the long weekend - can be upsetting for those who are more into quiet surroundings. I guess the fact that we were on our honeymon and all other hotels were particularly nice to us has quite lifted our expectations - while another couple of honeymooners for Cameron House is a very ordinary thing and they do not try any harder - which is absolutely logical; nobody has to.

Beautiful hotel. Comfortable room with splendid view over the Loch. Very friendly staff.

Hotel had business meeting going on. It was not nice that for breakfast we were seated surrounded by this group talking over our heads.

The boathouse restaurant was lovely and the service excellent.

Breakfast was chaotic! We waited around 15 minutes for teas and coffees. The hot buffet area was badly organised next to a door with waiters trying to get in and out with plates. Dirty plates were left piled on clean plates and my partner and I ended up covered in tomato sauce as a result. An unpleasant and not very relaxing experience.

Lovely hotel, helpful staff and a wonderful position on Loch Lomond. Room was great very luxurious and dinner in the Cameron Grill was outstanding. The buffet breakfast had almost everything you could have wanted and more. Would definitely return. Friendly conceirge only too happy to help and very polite. Thanks

Milk in room was off which wasn't hotels fault. Room was at back of hotel so no loch view but get what you pay for.

we had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the tranquil setting and luxury of our room. Facilities were brilliant.

We had a rattling window in our room which disturbed our sleep. This was a real pity because other than that the hotel was lovely and quiet

The hotel was fabulous. We were staying there on the first night of our honeymoon so the hotel kindly upgraded our room to a suite! It was beautiful and made out stay even better. We could not fault the hotel in any way. It was lovely and the staff were excellent. We would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Staff were terrific and very helpful. Facilities are excellent and the location is beautiful. It all combined to make a great break.

The food in the Cameron Grill was not up to scratch, but the staff there were very nice. Communication over when collecting from the Spa was very poor. If people have to wait an hour just tell them and they can adjust.

The comfort of the hotel; the hotel's situation. The staff were very fried,ply and helpful. Food was excellent.

We had difficulty in booking the restaurant and had to eat too late at 8.45. Had we known it would be so busy on a Monday night, we would have booked the restaurant when we booked the room, especially as it was our 30th wedding anniversary!

Everything except....

Appalling service in the Cameron Grill on the evening of Thursday 04 April 2013. This happened to be our wedding anniversary and the night when the whole service team went into meltdown. We had our table booked for 19.30 and nobody came to take our order until 20.30. It was a painful experience with nobody really wanting to admit that there was a problem until I forced them to own up. It was a complete and utter disgrace and most unexpected for the place that we have come to cherish after many great visits. How could the whole process go so badly off the rails? I would love to know the answer.
