As soon as you arrive the sweeping drive says it all, you are about to enter luxurious surroundings. The staff were superb, really helpful, room and facilities really nice and the food was outstanding> will definately return.

The staff were all pleasant and the food was good. The room was advertised on line with a view of the golf course. We were given a room on the ground floor with no view other than a walled garden. We were then moved after complaining, to a second floor room with in my view no better outlook as the view was very minimal. The sink in the room was dirty and there was dust all around the cabinet top near theTV. In my view the room did not meet my expectations and was not good value for money. I would have rather spent my money on a standard room. The rooms at Premier Inn I have stayed in on business trips are better.

Suited all our needs for a few nights away and close enough to Norwich for us to do some extra shopping in a city location rather than the more limited opyions we have in Boston Lincolnshire.

Ambience of surroundings. Courtesy and helpfulness of staff and freedom to come and go at our lesure. Enjoyed the swimming pool. Did ask for twin beds but had a double. Temperature of the water in shower and bath were not hot enough. Long walk to room for my husband who is disabled but our own fault as we did not specify this on booking.

The deluxe room was excellent. We did not book a golf package and decided to take our chances. We felt that the pro shop staff (apart from one very helpful person) generally seemed negative in trying to find us a golf tee time. At dinner, we thought the buffet cold starters lacked inspiration and variety - we preferred the soup of the day. Otherwise the food was good. We observed that one of the ceiling lights in the restaurant was not working for three days at least. This did not affect us but did appear to concern the various occupants of the large table underneath it who sat in the comparative darkness. On our first night the affected occupants were an 80th birthday celebration. They (and the occupants on the next two nights) seemed to be struggling to see their food!) Anyway, it was fixed by our 4th day.

Quiet location, plenty of parking, decent size room, decent breakfast choice Lounge/bar area cold in the evening and furniture a bit shabby. Surprised no drink fridge in room or at least a bottle of drinking water.

Swimming pool and gym facilities were nice, there is also a good selection of food for breakfast with the buffet set up. There is no mini fridge with complimentary water or a mini safe in any of the rooms. You have to request room service for water, and go down to the reception to store any valuables which is an inconvenience, particularly if there are queues. The fridge, complimentary water and mini safe were all standard on my previous stays at Dunston Hall, and other De vere establishments but I understand that this has now changed as matter of their policy. For the price of the stay I would expect items as part of the standard facilities. In future I'll opt for Hand picked hotels over De Vere, its a similar cost but far superior in the details.

Position, Character of old part of the building. Staff response to complaints. Breakfast. Price. Staff attitude in general. The rooms are fairly dated and need updating. The newer section has little character and the first room that i was given had a view of a brick wall, air conditioning units and a vent pipe. Not what i was expecting at a Country House hotel!

The grounds and setting, the Spa facilities, the swimming pool, friendliness of staff, style of room, buffet breakfast. Carvery was very limited and had been under heatr lamps for too long. Not a vcery good selection of breakfast choice if not a fry up person. Base of bath was rotted through which did not give a pleasing impression. The accommodation standard was much better on our previous visit: we got a special price from you so I expect the reduced price was reflected in the room we were given. Bedroom itself was lovely.

Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and comfortable beds and bedding. Have stayed twice once in deluxe room and recently a standard room. Both very nice. The fine dining restaurant wasn't available as it is now seasonal so check before you go if that is important. Pool could have been a tad warmer but this hotel does have a lovely pool area with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi. Beautiful setting.

It was convenient for the nearby wedding we were going to. Also it was nicer than a budget hotel which we wanted as we don't get to stay away together very enough. Some doors banging in the early morning but I guess that depends on the other guests staying at the time.

Efficient and polite staff. Excessive bar prices and my room was rather tired and needed redecorating, particularly when you consider the high prices you pay. You expect more than just a good view and an historic feel.

Very little - would not recommend this hotel and will definately NOT stay with the De Vere group again. Room unclean - bins not emptied from the previous occupant - no sweetener with the tea making facilities. Asked for a quiet room - baby in the room next door the first night and small children in the second night. English breakfast cold. Kept waiting for an hour for dinner on the Sat night - kitchen and staff could not cope with theb volume of residents. Served the wrong food. House wine undrinkable!!
