Fantastic sea view from balcony. Friendly helpful attitude of staff. Including bellboy to assist with cases. Excellent Carvery. The only lift was very small and claustrophobic.

Every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. My son who is 10 loved the pools, croquet, tennis & snooker, I loved the view, the relaxing atmosphere & the good food. Friends visited during stay & the hotel staff let their children use the facilities as well even after we had checked out of the room Decor and bedspreads bit worn but didn't matter at all

The staff were extremely friendly, the food was lovely and the gardens were beautiful, it was a lovely peaceful weekend and we would stay again. It was a short walk to the beach which again was lovely and not to crowded and about a 15 min walk to town. The only thing I didn't like was the sink had a rusty hole in the corner, the carpet I felt could have done with a clean, and the blanket on the bed had been washed so many times it was hard and lumpy, it also had a burn mark in it which I let your reception now about, sounds like a lot but we would stay again

The Journey home ! The room was somthing out of the 80'S. The decor was old fashioned , out dated and positivley grubby. The bed was the most uncomfortable soft spongey bed I have ever slept in , the room smelt old , damp and very fusty. Staff in the breakfast room was very rude and not helpful in anyway , did not introuce you to the room or the set up. We will not be staying again or recommending to anyone

Friendly staff Old tired decor, rickety lift. Bedroom and bathroom appear not to have been refurbished for decades. Really needs updating and modernising. A Flat screen TV would at least make it feel this century! Removing the cobwebs from ceilings and windows and fixing broken locks on balcony doors would make the place feel more cared for. Real lack of investment in basic comfort level.

We have visited for a few days near Christmas for four years. It is like coming home. It's warm, comfortable without being 'posh', conveniently placed for town, beach and Exeter. We love the Christmas lights and the warm swimming pool. We hope to visit for many years to come.

We stayed at the Devoncourt hotel in November 2011and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. The room was pleasant with everything we needed plus a balcony, however the decor was very tired looking. It was the weekend of the christmas lights which was well worth the visit. Overall an excellent weekend we hope to return in the summer.

In My line of work I stay at many hotels worldwide, in particular in Europe. Some of these hotels were supposed to have been of a good to high standard but were not. The Devoncourt I can only say was a major disappointment. The room we had was old and shabby, the heating didn't work effectively. I have tried to think of something that was good or even reasonable about this hotel, unfortunately I can't think of anything. The place was that bad we left a day early.

Easy parking right outside the hotel door. Conveniently located near the beach and quiet. Disappointing that the spa closed at 9pm as check in was not until 4.30 and check out was by 10.30. Unexpected charges for spa towels not listed on the website.

I was most impressed by the two staff I came had dealing with. The first one on entering at reception. She gave us all the information required very proffessional an dwas very pleasant when we I checked out. Also the man who attended us at braekfast even though we breakfast very late 9.50 I would rate 10 out of 10. Superb service very thoughtful and proffessional again..Also impressed that the room I had booked had been changed due to a larger room with a sea view, as thought (correctly) sea view would prefable. The breakfast I had was superb quality. I had stay at the Barn the previous week and there breakfast was not as good as your or as hot and service not as good. I find it hard to describe your hotel as you can see it was a grand place previously but is looking a bit tired and needs some updating comfortable as it is. I enjoyed the garden very much and do look forward to staying again. The Devoncourt Hotel was a relaxing hotel to stay. Staff and service were excellent along with the breakfast I had. I can only assume the food must be very good if the qualitiy and generous hot breakfast was anything to go by. The price of the room was very fair. I was impressed that due to fact that the yhad a spare room with a sea view I was upgraded to that one on arrival which was also larger for no extra charge. I will be stay at this hotel again when in Exmouth Devon. I have stayed in a few others here but this has turned out to be the best. Keep it up Devoncourt.

Friendly pleasant hotel, good situation in Exmouth and for surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very relaxing. The car parking near the entrance was difficult, particularly if there was a function/meeting on.

Friendly atmosphere. Good location. Easily located just behind beach and close to town centre. Good range of facilities. Decent sized room (suite) Needs updating decor wise. Very 70's ish, which in a way, is part of it's charm, but could do with a lick of paint/ wallpaper and new cutains.
