Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room hotel is lovely and it is excellent for the prices they charge. The location of the hotel is excellent for the reason of our trip, which was visiting the SECC for a concert.

Hotel staff very friendly and approachable. Having read some of the web reviews, we didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. The only reason the comfort factor has been marked 'fair' was the mattress on the bed - very thin and soon hit the base underneath. Ideally it should have been upgraded at the same time as the room. As we're country folk, we requested a quiet room. We were put at the back which was good. Blackout curtains would be a bonus though to keep out the city light pollution. Room temperature was fine, but if we opened a window for fresh air there was too much city noise coming in! Oh well you can't have everything and for the money we paid we certainly couldn't complain. Did us fine for our business trip. As there was an extensive upgrading programme being carried out during our visit, it wouldn't be fair to comment on the corridors etc - they were kept as clean as one would expect (mainly plaster dust on the carpet). Didn't care for the young rowdy pair coming in at 03.30 on 2 mornings to the room opposite, but you pays your money and hope for considerate neighbours! No doubt everyone along that corridor was affected and not just us.

The receptionist very kindly gave the guests in the breakfast room the staff canister of coffee because there was none for the guests. If poor service was to be provided on Boxing Day they would have been better closing the hotel.

The hotel was very well placed on the bus routes to the city and also near some of the attractions ie The Art and Natural History Museum and we had nice walk through Kelvin Grove Park. All in all we had a very good time. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to help you in your requests. Out whole stay was a very pleasant and we would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is well placed to facilitate the town centre and the airport. A comfortable and friendly place to stay. Safe for the single traveller. Basic but friendly and clean, if a little tired.

Having read some other reviews, I am was apprehensive about my short stay at the Devoncove Hotel, but I need not have worried. From the moment I arrived until I walked out the exit after checking out, my experience was excellent. The staff were friendly and cheerful throughout the stay, and I would recommend the Devoncove Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable place to use as a base to explore the city and surrounds, at a price that doesn't hurt your pocket.

For the price I paid - £29 - the Devoncove was excellent value for money. It was clean, the staff were nice, breakfast was pretty good and so were the facilities. I had a comfortable stay. The decor was a bit tired, but for a budget hotel, what do you expect?

Despite the renovation work thats currently in progress the rooms themselves including the public rooms were very clean.Breakfast was perfectly good and the tariff was fair. Our main gripe, and its a biggy, was the fact that it was impoosible to get a good nights sleep. I know, I was young once, but hells bells, the noise from a room party down the corridor went on till 0800 Saturday morning and the night porter was pretty ineffective in controlling it. When I complained to the duty manager, there was no apology, just a look on his face as if he was saying, "what do you want me to do about it?"

The hotel was in a very convenient location within walking distance of the shops and pubs, the rooms were clean and well presented although the bed was a bit worn and a bit uncomfortable. It was an enjoyable stay which I had booked for my partners birthday. The breakfast was really good and set us up for the day. The only thing was the hotel was being renovated and was a bit messy but nothing too bad, it has the potential to be really nice. Also they beds could do with renewing.

I choose the Hotel as it was convenient for the secc . The Sink did not drain and the next door neighbours decided to have a party which is not the hotels fault . People who had parked in the car park could have done this better as space was taken up unnecessary space ,however we were able to park near the hotel .
