Food was exceptional in the evening as was breakfast the following morning. Avery quiet and peaceful location
Staff need to smile and be a little friendlier.
Bar area layout and decor Food was outstanding, I stay in hotels 5 nights a week and the meal was the best I have had in a very long time.
Room was chilly on arrival and too cool overnight. Wifi in the bar was ok but in the rooms was very poor (frustratingly so!)
Even though they had a "staffing problem" at breakfast, everything was sorted out with no inconvenience to us.
Can't think of anything. Madam said she would have liked a full length mirror in the bedroom?
Excellent service. Relaxed atmosphere in lovely surrounding. Great bedroom and good food
Shower in room 2 could be better
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and well furnished. The food in the restaurant was excellent - very creative and cooked to perfection!
There was nothing to dislike!
Comfy and well designed rooms. Delicious breakfast. Lovely garden.
Wonderful pub with high quality comfortable rooms and an excellent menu. Very helpful staff too.
Wifi was hit-and-miss in the room, though was (apparently) good down in the bar.
We really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. Westayed for 2 nights and also ate in the hotel on one evening. Staff were very helpful in arranging for our bikes to be stored securely and were friendly throughout. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower and shower room was a decent size. The gardens are spacious. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
The location, staff and hotel were wonderful... Very friendly reception and all staff were relaxed, polite and very professional... Lovely evening meal and breakfast...well done chef. We stayed for a special occasion...It scored 10 out of 10, thank you for a great night... We would love to visit again!!!!
Minor issue. I had the 4 choice cheese board. Not cheap at over ten pounds. It was ok, but a little disappointing. Cold from the fridge and very average cheese... Well presented with a lovely relish....was a bit of a shame...
Decor: interesting and tasteful in all areas. Outside courtyard garden very attractive; a nice place to sit for pre-dinner drinks. Menu: well chosen dishes and well cooked and presented.
Free-standing bath with very inconvenient shower attachment. One was not able to stand and shower properly as the shower head had to be held in one hand all the time and there was the risk of water going all over the surrounding floor. Not at all satisfactory.
Excellent food and drink as are the staff.
Wifi/TV signal could be a little stronger!
Extremely pretty hotel with charming features. Very easy to find and great value for money.
Only issue was very poor shower, it looked great but water pressure was very poor.
Everything was just right it was relaxing, good service and very helpful staff
Lovely village pub atmosphere combined with a good quality hotel, food was good both evening and breakfast with excellent service, luckily we were able to eat outdoors as the weather was so good.A great place to visit Street and Bath we would recommend it.
Food was good, rooms clean and roomy, pub was really pleasant and staff very nice.
Great location, friendly and efficient staff, good food, good value. Will stay again.
What is not to like ?
Atmosphere was really relaxing and comfortable. Staff were really friendly as well as being effecient. Food was very good, drinks selection great, value for money too.
WiFi could be stronger
A walm welcome on a rainy evening. Cot provided for our baby and pleasantly surprised with the size of the room (5). Lovely food for dinner and breakfast.
There was a wedding on which we weren't told about at booking- v noisy and woke our baby up at 1am so not very restful.
Decor in room beautiful, spotlessly clean, high ceilings, comfortable king-size bed. I would definitely stay here again.
One very small thing - milk provided for tea and coffee in room was horrible.
Beautiful location and environment. Room was lovely.
Could have done with a mirror in the room (by a plug!) and wifi
The room was spacious and had very nice facilities. The staff were friendly and the food very good. Beautiful pub garden with plenty of sunshine and shade if needed,
Great food; comfortable room; beautiful old building in country village setting; nicely modernised and converted; friendly and welcoming staff.
Didnt suit a business traveler - Couldnt get Wifi in my room, no desk room for work. Dinner was ok, staff where ok. Nothing too impressive. Not sure i would stay again in a hurry.
The food and restaurant The room The hotel Breakfast
Good food, nice room. The Devonshire has a lot of old character, but the rooms are stylishly furnished and very comfortable. Restaurant is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner.
No real car park, but plenty of parking opposite the front door on the village green.
