Excellent car parking facilities in own grounds. Clean comfortable and very competitive
No adverse impression of any aspect during my short stay
breakfast room size friendly staff free parking
bathroom had no shower gel, shampoo no telephone in room no smoking rooms bar closed during the day toilet felt like it would fall off the wall at any moment. no toilet roll holder no card payment machine at bar
Good, comfortable and affordable hotel close to the motorway.
The character of the building staff were friendly will defineately stop there again
Attentive staff and good food
Room damp and cold
Dinning room dirty, obviously not cleaned in the two days we were there, staff only interested in your room number. Absolutely no professionalism, one staff member proceeded to serve four of us with one hand while holding his clipboard with our room numbers in the other hand simultaneously, simply awful
I loved most things
there weren't many signs to rooms. also we got there early evening and couldn't find reception, would be a good idea to signpost the way in.
Very clean and food very good at party for Tom Wood Room decorated nicely Very well signed for Hotel 1st visit to Liverpool
I used to live near the Devonshire so chose it for the location. Good value for money. Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was sufficient. Would stay here again.
Decor was a little date.
thanks to ben, the night porter, who was always a true gentleman, no matter who or what he had to deal with, and loads of hugs to sue, our friendly neighbourhood barmaid, a million thanks to sue for putting up with us to the wee hours of the morning, and always a smile for me every evening, in the immortal words, I'LL BE BACK, (p.s. hi dave, will be in touch again after new year, dont change anything, pete, )
beats the hell outta me, oh, one thing i didnt like, the mornings after, ouch,
we enjoyed our stay at the Devonshire hotel,it was further out than I thought but we left the car at the hotel and used public transport,it was great not to worry about car parking and using public transport was a doddle.we did use a taxi and that was about a fiver.
Free parking, excellent wifi signal, quiet location, good night sleep, quick check in.
Rooms need updating, bathroom tired, breakfast times restrictive 7-9 and hot breakfast small portions fried eggs not on offer. Given the cost I was looking for something a bit plusher.
Had to walk for bus but not far
The building, although tired and in need of TLC, was impressive and the gardens very pleasant. An oasis given it's proximity to the city centre
Decor was tatty , particularly in my room ( cigarette burns on furniture and bathroom fixtures ) room smelt of cigarette smoke !! Down lighters in bathroom hanging down , very dangerous. The breakfast was poor fayre. Toast was thin cold and rubber like in texture!!
was very nice to be so close to liverpool city center only 5 minutes by taxi hotel was okey staff friendly and helpful :)
It seemed reasonably priced and the location was ok.
Breakfast was served until 9.00am only. Visitors coming in for breakfast at 9.05 were out of luck as the food was hastily removed from the counter. There was little engagement with the guests by the staff and the overall impression was rather impersonal and detached. The hotel could do with some renovation (carpets, etc.)
It was ok to stay
The bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom door didn't close shower rail hanging off and screen door didn't touch the bath, black mold around bath and cup far too small need mugs. Meals not how described on menu the fish was out of a box.

Inappropriate heating not sorted out.
Room need renovation.
Location Comfort Size of family room
Wifi Room wasn't ready Big tv didn't work Room was in a noisy location
Breakfast and the breakfast service was excellent. When a problem with the radiator was reported it was immediately sorted.
When we checked in we were sent to 2 different rooms that were not cleaned from previous guests. The 3rd room was still being cleaned when we got to it so we waited outside for 10 mins whilst it was finished. The first night was very chilly as the radiator would not turn on.
staff helpfull. Convenient location.
Small room + uncomfortable bathroom.
Friendly and helpful staff.
A bit well worn. Could do with a bit of interior decoration....... And new matrasses on the beds! Mine was rather lumpy.
The hotel was very dated and the room very basic. Wasn't expecting luxury but was expecting it to better. Breakfast was very rushed for a weekend. Had to be served by 9am! Some guests who came down at 9.15 am got turned away.
Claen, comfortable, friendly staff and good location
Hotel a little jaded and would benefit from a bit of TLC to upgrade into a lovely hotel
