Handy for City Centre, Good Breakfast.
Price and location (close to Etihad) were the main reasons for booking. Staff were very good but the hotel is in a desperate need of an update.
Short taxi ride to stadium
Great location for a night at the greyhounds
Room was shabby and cold. Not as shown on the website pictures at all !! Misrepresented badly.
Clean,good helpfully staff
Free wifi for kids.
Receptionist was about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike!!
Close to dogtrack
Room cold and needed updating
The set up of the bed, which keeps moving as soon as you lean near it. Do not pass health & safety rules.
THE BATHROOM LET IT DOWN BADLY ROOM MUCH TOO HOT AND TOO NOISY WITH WINDOW OPEN
Having no hot water at tea time, when wanting to get ready. Stayed several times gefore
slight issue, there was a fire alarm when we arrived and staff were not very organised. also ran out of wine :(
Cosy room, tv worked well, clean room, nice staff
Was quite loud early in the morning got woke up with banging a few times and also the breakfast wasn't great
Great location for the dog track or off into the city.Breakfast was great and plentiful.
Fire alarm went off through a small fire in the tumble drier. The fire brigade turned the gas off so no hot food and no hot water for a shower . having said that I would stop there again.
Great for one night stay would recommend to anyone on a budget breakfast was spot on beds were comfy staff were friendly and helpfull
Not a big problem but over powering smell of cleaning stuff and room was cold took a while for the little heater to warm up
Beautiful room, helpful staff, enjoyable food.
Handy for where we needed to be.
Dirty, worn out and untidy. No white wine, ice or lemon behind the bar.
The reception staff was helpful and sorted out a different room for us no problem. (The first one was disgusting old fashioned and the room smelt like damp, it was not what I expected after seeing the pictures of the rooms they advertise, but turns out only half the hotel has been renovated, so be careful when booking). Breakfast was nice and just what we needed to prepare us for the drive home : )
As stated the original room they gave us was awful, old fashioned and stunk of damp. If they could not have offered me a new renovated room I would not have stayed there, that's how bad it was! There was a fire in the hotel earlier in the day so we arrived at 5pm and was told there was no hot water and this remained the case until 10.30pm. Lucky for us we had already had a shower and got ready prior to arriving. We was going watching Peter Kay at Manchester arena. But there was lots of unhappy people complaining and they refused to refund them which I felt was wrong as they was wanting to get ready for nights out ect but couldn't.
The breakfast was great, it had everything, toast, cereal, fruit yogurts and the full english, I was hoping to speak to the lady to tell her but did not get the chance! I have to say it is probably the best ive had, and I have stayed at alot of hotels! Top marks Diamond lodge and paticulary the cooks!
It could be a bit noisy in the corridors! Also the location a bit far although the bus stop is right outside to Tue city, but if you miss the last bus its quite expensive in a taxi!
We stayed for two nights, it's a nice hotel can't grumble for the price, staff was lovely, breakfast a Was decent,
Beds was uncomfy the only bad thing
Free WiFi, great location.
No hot water upon arrival so we couldn't take a shower before our night out. Nearly no breakfast left a good 30 mins before the end of breakfast serving time.
The hotel staff were not friendly at all. There was no hot water until 10pm. Both rooms smelt of smoke The decor was very old fashioned and the photo of the room on booking.com did not represent the pictures in reality.
It's been refurbished and it's nice and clean
Bed is really comfy and ample parking
Breakfast was ok but not so good that I would want to eat it all week Reception right next to people eating breakfast and it's kind of offputting Stait carpets and areas of restaurant was quite dirty
Quality if bed and bed linen
Wi-fi not good
