Poor service from the lady on reception/bar on the saturday 3pm to 6pm. Displayed a bad attitude towards our group. Lacked serious customer service skills, making customers wait for service and check in because "it was time for a fag" and also stating im not changing the barrel cause i dont want to go downstairs. I spoke to 2 other members of staff and found them quite pleasent.

The day staff were excellent - the bloke at night was a grumpy sod who seemed to get easily irked with foreigners. Needs to be a bit more tolerant! I thought the whole place was excellent though, great value for money.

Very pleasant receptionist, very helpful indeed. Room was clean and tidy. Thought there could of been more tables at breakfast as we had to wait for one table to be cleared although it didn't take long for it to be cleared and there was bit of a wait for the breakfast as there was a queue.

The family room is spacious that accommodates up to 4 people. Very friendly environment. Fairly clean rooms. No lift. We had to drag our large size bags to the top floor. BTW, Booking.com should mention if the hotel that we are staying has lift or without lift. it helps in our decision making...

Location. Easy to use public transport to get into city centre. Breakfast included in tariff. In need of general decorating. Bathroom very poor standard. Looked as though there had been a flood recently as flooring was coming up. Grouting round bath going black. Could not book in until exactly 2 pm and unable to buy drink at bar because floor had been washed and had to dry! However free coffee and tea was available. Night porter obviously unhappy in his job! Very difficult to have conversation with him - we decided to take our drink up to our bedroom rather than sit in bar.

We liked the Diamond Lodge very much. We were going to a concert at Manchester Area and found it easy to jump on the bus to get to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us a map of where to go and bus numbers etc. Would stay there again.

It was ideal for a night out at Belle Vue dogs, good access from M60, spacious free parking. Very noisy, but it was saturday night with stag and hen parties.

staff were fantastic, very welcoming and dealt with any minor problems professionally. Restaurant and bar facilities very acceptable and reasonably priced. only a short bus ride to city centre. entertainment nearby eg. dog track, golf, snooker. Rooms tidy, clean and with decent facilities. crockery and cutlery were sometimes dirty.

It was a weekend away to Aintree for the Grand National. I know Manchester enough to be able to get around and I knew from Manchester - Picadilly it was convenient to get to Lime Street then our onward journey to Aintree, to be honest in and around Liverpool was very expensive just because of the race meeting so staying a little further out was better for us.

A very friendly value for money hotel which unlike other budget hotels did not charge extra to have a breakfast which at the price the others seem to charge for breakfast makes them expensive and no extra charge for staying on a saturday unlike the budget chains, also free parking unlike one of the budget chains which I had to park in N.C.P car park at cost of sixteen pound! as a regular visiter to Manchester will definately be using the hotel again and there is even a train station next door only £1.70 to take you into the centre.Ignore that the hotel is a little bit out of town you can afford use taxis.Brilliant value. Nothing.

Free on site car parking; Free Wi-Fi; Great (help yourself & eat as much as you like) breakfast includes continuously replenished scrambled egg, mushrooms, beans, bacon, sausages, toast, pikelets, cereal, fruit, jams, juice, tea, coffee. Bus stop directly outside hotel which cost £2 each to city centre (would not recommend walking!) and a late night bus service is provided. Canal Street and China Town not far from centre bus stop. Trafford Centre easy to find from hotel (following directions by helpful reception staff) and approx.10 Mins drive away. Room clean with usual facilities: hairdryer/showergel/tea & coffee/TV. Absolutely fine for short stay - great for price. Overall a good value hotel with hot- option breakfast & quite close to city centre (2.5 - 3 miles). Will definitely stay again. Busy, noisy road adjacent to hotel. We couldn't find any nice places to eat/drink close to hotel, however, the hotel does have a bar.
