i have stayed a few times at the lodge and have found it to be excellent value for money.the staff are polite and helpful. on this occasion i have just one compaint.see section what i didn'like i booked months in advance and requested ground floor as i am bad on my legs and have difficulty climbing stairs .i was given a first floor room which meant struggling upstairs. i pointed this out at reception but was told all rooms were occupied. if there where no ground floor rooms available at the time of booking i should have been told .i would then not have booked .we had travelled to far to cancel and go home

within easy reach of city centre with buses every 5 or 10 mins right outside, staff very welcoming and friendly, breakfast well layed out on our stay it was very noisey in rooms and corridors due to some party but that can be expected in most hotels . id say walls in rooms are very tin plus beds are not the most comfortable unless you ve worn yourself out through the day then you d sleep on anything.

*Its location very close to the Gorton Monastery which is a great venue for festivals etc * Its modern comfortable ensuite * Free parking very close to the hotel * Staff very pleasant and helpful *Tv remote not working properly in bedroom * Not easy to reach top of TV to fumble and find the power button and others, which you need to use as the remote control would not work otherwise- and even son it still did not work in this case; I had to climb on a chair to see what I was doing. * Creaking bathroom door hinges needing oiling! * That Saturday: 'a new chef' was the answer given to try and excuse the lack of the only 4 vegetarian dishes on the menu- Other clients had requested such dishes but none were not available: just a simple dish of white macaroni with a (nice) pesto tomato sauce, but NOT served with anything else with it (such as vegetables and/ or garlic bread etc) Surely the freezer could have been stocked up with some emergency dishes, especially for a weekend. There were a lot of people staying there.

Room good, facilities were good, cleaning staff very friendly. Diamond Hotel, Belle Vue, Manchester Room 214, stayed over the weekend, didn't appreciate being kept awake by partying teenagers and the rooms either side as well as above being used for prostitution, I called reception who did send someone up to ask the gentlemen who rents the room every Friday night to be a bit quieter, but I had to bang on the wall several times after this because no-one was available after midnight, I have never stayed here before and would not recommend it to anyone who wants to get a good nights sleep and anyone has children with them, although I think that the room we were put in was done on purpose because my mum is elderly. Also I appreciate the fact that it is a cheap hotel and that expectations should have been a bit lower, however I think because I had driven quite a long way it wasn't unreasonable to expect a good nights sleep. I will be taking my business else where, I don't think I am being unreasonable. It's fair to say that if I was a prostitute I would be welcome as I remember sharing my breakfast with two the very next morning.

The price. There was no Wi-Fi and when I mentioned it to reception they already knew, but showed little interest to fix it! The restaurant was closed at 8:30 PM.
