We stayed at the Hotel on 31st October we were a group of 5 using 3 rooms we found it to be a friendly clean and welcoming Hotel. The staff could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were attending a funeral the following day and in the evening joined the locals in the bar they were also welcoming and friendly and it helped us take our mind off the sad event we were attending. The rooms were clean warm and had facilities to make drinks the shower was hot and powerful and clean fresh towels were provided .We had an 86yr old in our group also he was originally from the area and they were smashing with him chatting etc.If you are a smoker they have a decked area by the bar which has a parasol and you can get to it easily they have another area overlooking the river.Breakfast was huge and delicious afull english with the lot fried bread toast etc etc We have no complaints at all only the carpark is small but one of the staff members moved her car and that was fine

I chose this hotel because I was going to see the Wales Rally GB, and the stages I was planning on seeing the next day were very close to the hotel, so for me, the location was good. Also, the hotel has its own free parking lot, which is hard to find in the UK, and there is a restaurant and bar downstairs. The food is surprisingly good, and the staff was very helpful, making time to help me with something I didn't understand despite being busy also running the bar and restaurant, and making sure I could get something for breakfast if I happened to leave before the morning wait staff arrived to start the breakfast service hours. Everything in the room worked well, and I found this place to be a great value for my money. The bar downstairs got a bit noisy at times, and the busy street right outside was also a bit trying at times. Also, I didn't realize that this hotel isn't really in the town of Swansea proper, and the surrounding area is somewhat desperate looking.

I was staying here with friends to see th GB round of the WRC & found this hotel an ideal location. On arriving we were made very welcome and the staff were the best I've met in any hotel. We had a late supper and the mixed grill was cooked to perfection and the price of just under ten pounds was the best value meal yet. The rooms were clean, aired nicely and the bathroom was also clean. I would recommend this lovely hotel to all my friends. Thanks for a great night & hopefully will return soon.

Warm welcome. We are a group of "bikers" and this is not always the case! Good food in the restaurant and very reasonably priced. Good beer.

Not a lot I'm affraid. Its location, close to my destination, was the only reason I stayed there. Firstly, the room, number 4, was not ready at 6pm on the day of our arrival. Apparently, children had been playing in the room prior to our arrival and messed up the bed etc! The landlady did though offer us a free drink whilst it was attended to. The bedroom was acceptable though a little dated. The bathroom however left a lot to be desired. The shower waste water flowed away very slowly and I noted that the rubber shower mat was blocking the drain hole slightly. I therefore folded back the shower matt to assist the flow of water only to reveal the underside of the mat that was black / slimey and absolutely disgusting. It had obviously not been cleaned for months, or longer! The chrome towel rail and chrome waste bucket were 50% covered in rust and in need of replacement. We noted that some / all of the bedrooms were in the process of being re-decorated. Fortunatley we wont be back to see any inprovement. Breakfast; we were greeted, with a grunt, by a cook / waiter wearing jeans, black tee shirt, smelling of cigerette smoke. A tea pot was placed on the table full of hot water. The waiter / cook said he brought the hot water as he did not know wether we prefered tea of coffee! Could of asked. No cereals or fruit juice was offered. A hearty plated breakfast arrived 10 minutes later which in normal circumstances would of pleased many a guest, however, unfortunatley my wife does not like the tinned plum tomato's and baked beans that covered the breakfast. The cook / waiter did reluctantly bring a replacement but why could he not of asked what we wanted prior to cooking! All this for £68 / night! There having a laugh.

Very friendly new owners (since October 2011?) obviously working very, very hard to make an old pub into a good local hotel. Most areas recently renovated and looking good. Attached to busy and friendly pub. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but looks as though it is aimed at being a place for local families for weekend lunches, etc. as well as hotel guests. Not far from M4 and Swansea but head anywhere north from here and you are in the least touristy bit of Brecon Beacons National Park - spectacular walking country!!

It is convenient for my destination the following day, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are friendly, and personal service counts for more with me than, for instance, an extensive menu. Breakfast, in particular, is freshly cooked and a good start to the day. Furthermore, they were appreciative of my pointing out a couple of minor defects about the room fittings, which they will easily be able to rectify.

We arrived early as we wanted to ask the owner for information - not to book in. The place was clean and service was good after initial contact was made with the owner who was a little unfiendly to start but ended up to be quite pleasant. Good wholesome food. I did have to add up our account as his wife was unwell and she normally raised the paperwork. It is not a place that most people would go to but I was looking for information about the area as my ancestors came from Pontardawe. Nothing to dislike if you are just looking for somewher to stay.

The room was not clean, to my standards. My partners bed broke, there was only one cup in the room, the bathroom mirror was very dirty, the overall appearance of the place was shabby and cheap. Your website said there were few rooms left on the night we stayed but infact we were the only guests at the hotel. The breakfast was shocking no choice just a greasy fry-up covered in baked beans placed infront of you and a pile of burnt toast. Only one cup of tea served. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was comfortable, clean and served our purposes (we were in town for a family funeral and only needed a bed for then night). The only downside was that they didn't tell us breakfast finished at 9:00 am on the Sunday morning but having said that they did keep it hot for us when we came down at 10:00 am.
