Breakfast portions dismal.Mattress very poor and very over priced.

We thought the breakfast staff were inexperienced, we were at a small table and our large plates were not removed when we had finished our cooked breakfast so we had a problem when we were at the toast stage. Suggest the staff are trained to remove plates as soon as they are finished with. Good apart from that.
The location was really excellent

No lifts. Creaky floorboards make for a noisy night. Rather expensive with average food.
Location in town was convenient. Nice garden.

large airy room very comfortable, great view of garden, very quiet. 2 mins walk from centre, breakfast and evening meal excellent, staff friendly and helpful.

Couldn't get wi-fi and one very small complaint was that there were no biscuits to have with a cup of tea.
The food was really good and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful

Not a bad experience exactly but the window of our room had been stuck several inches open by the painter and refused all our efforts to close it so a bit cold at night. We reported the problem to Reception but sadly it took three days before it was rectified. Also we had twin beds pushed together which made a very nice large sleeping area but the cording around each mattress was like iron so very uncomfortable if you accidently lay on it in the night.
The Hotel is very central to Ludlow which means that it is easy to walk to most of the places of interest. It has a nice old world feeling and the rooms are furnished in keeping with it's age. despite which all the facilities are modern and attractive. The quality of food on offer for breakfast was excellent and well cooked. All the staff went out of their way to provide an enjoyable stay.

The Castle room looks like a cheap bordello, deep red and gaudy gold. The room had a nasty curled up rug just outside the bathroom, covering a big stain on the carpet. I tripped over it at 3.00 in the morning and had a bad fall. I informed the staff in the morning, none of whom looked to be over 21. They removed the rug. Did anyone care......not at all. I was at least expecting an apology, or being asked how I was. Nothing. In the two nights I was there the room was not vacuumed and the teacup ring on the end of the bath that was there when I got there and still there when I left.
The food was passable although very overpriced. I was charged 2.50 for a glass of soda and lime.

No wi fi - no biccys on the tea tray!
Loved the room although thought it was a bit over-priced even though it was a suite - have stayed here before in a "normal" room and apart from this being larger it was no better really

The staff superb, the breakfast hot, nice choice & very tasty. The room (flower, garden room) large, bright & nicely furnished & very quiet. The hotel with nicely decorated cosy lounge & bar & beautiful back lawn/garden.

The bedroom was always cold, even during the rare times the hotel heating was on.Complaining did not improve the situation.
Great position for a stay in Ludlow
May 12, 2015
Poor wifi availability. Missing tv remote - we were told by staff that 'they kept going missing' and they had run out of spares. Bath was small and difficult to get in and out of - bathroom was disappointing for room of this type.
Suite was spacious with separate lounge area overlooking garden with its own direct access. Breakfast was excellent with good choice and freshly prepared Shropshire breakfast to be recommended.

Free wifi in lounge areas only
Pleasant staff, excellent location in quiet street opposite castle. Quirky, comfortable and elegant interior. Lovely small garden. Food good.

May Fair!! loud and brash with drunken kids everywhere. some pubs and many shops closed because of the fair. No food market. Do NOT go to Ludlow on May bank holiday weekend unless you like cheap tacky fairs.
nice town and hotel would have been nicely situated apart from the fair which could be heard o the room.
May 7, 2015
The fair was in town and it was pointed out at booking. The fair takes up the whole market place and intruded on the hotel on two sides making it noisy. However, they did not go on late so it did not disturb us at night.
The location for exploring the town and surrounding area. There was a lovely walk around the castle and along the river.

Toilet was not cleaned properly. My husband's steak was quite tough, we did mention it. No reduction was offered. Room tired looking.
Good location central to town. Staff very friendly. We did not stay for our breakfast, so cannot comment.

Unaccountable 'filling' noise during the nights -some sort of 'tank'?Dont believe it to have been wc flushing from below
The'independence' & privacy of the 'Garden Room'; the antiquity of the building& lovely garden;excellent location.

Excellent staff, superb food.

We had a very enjoyable trip to Ludlow. The Dinham was in the heart of the town centre. We had a lovely view from our bedroom window and were well looked after.
April 23, 2015
I have a digestive problem so didn't want to have a main course or dessert, just two light starters, but there was absolutely no negotiation with regard to the set price of £29.95, and although the young man seving us was efficient he was also a little curt.
I thought the room and location was lovely
April 23, 2015
The food was a little disappointing - my sole was over cooked and slightly 'mushy' - it was served on a 'butter paper' to help preserve the shape of the fish in handling, but for a town which prides itself on local produce it was very strange to see the butter paper was for a french brand. My dessert was supposed to contain raspberry sorbet - not included and my husband's cheese plate was uninspiring (only the shropshire blue was identified as a local cheese). In contrast, breakfast was good.
Dinham Hall Hotel is a lovely little gem of a hotel in the middle of Ludlow - we stayed in a superior room which had a great view over the countryside and was of a good size. Staff were very friendly - the 2 restaurant staff had to work very hard as the restaurant was busy on a Monday eve. All in all - would stay again but would probably eat elsewhere
April 21, 2015
The WiFi is fine on the ground floor it would be better if it made it up to the second floor.
The hotel provided all I would expect to make us welcome and comfortable.
April 21, 2015
Comfortable and good location - lovely views. Near to town so excellent for that. Breakfast was a little sparse - my husband had smoked haddock and the poached egg hid it - such a small square of fish - otherwise OK
April 19, 2015
Room was not warm at night and the shower water was tepid
The room and the view
April 12, 2015
The floors above ground level all creak badly so you can hear people quite clearly as they walk past the room and on the floor above, which became rather annoying after a while. Need to get some new pillows as they were not very comfy.
The location within Ludlow is very good. The hotel has a certain chic quality and although it is slightly tired around the edges, it didn't impact on our stay. We stayed on a special deal in one of the suites, otherwise it would have been too expensiveon the daily tariff
