Lovely rustic country inn, roaring fire, warm welcome. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms - good use of space. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Only positioning of shower v loo in wet room - everything got rather wet & it didn;t dry out well.

Friendly and helpful staff, good restaurant. Spotlessly clean room. Free WiFi Rooms are rather small and, although not busy, cars travelling down the adjacent road can be clearly heard in the room (barn conversion)

A quiet village location about 1hrs drive from Heathrow airport. The evening meal in the restaurant / old bar was of high standard and most enjoyable. The breakfast was also one of the best we had in uk. The main building had a great historic and welcoming atmosphere. Pleasant outside gardens , seating and easy parking. The pictures on the Web are of the main building which has attractive historic appeal however most rooms are in a detached barn conversion which is somwhat less aesthetically appealing. While the standard of fittings and cleanliness was very good the rooms were really quite small.Thought the price was high for the room , but the easy access and nice meals made for a pleasant stay. If pictures of the barn extension rooms were on the web I doubt as many first time bookings.

I didn't like the first room offered with it's 'wet room' but was offered a room with an adjacent bathroom which was fine. The bar is very small with little sitting room to enjoy a drink before dinner but the food was excellent and the service equally good. I think they could do a lot more to the garden area making it more attractive - it's got lots of ground. The initial greeting by the reception was a little off hand..

Very rural and out of the way. Staff appeared to be very inexperienced and particulartly at breakfast had to be asked to replenish most items which obviously had run out.
