I would recommend this hotel either on business or leasure. Excellent location to vist Abindon and yet quiet and relaxing for those afetrwork moments.
Nothing. I would vist this hotel again.
1) Dog friendly 2) Excellent food , mixed grill was perfectly cooked! 3) Friendly , attentive staff 4) Quiet , peaceful location
Not a lot ........struggling to find any criticism at all !!
I loved the beautiful location of the hotel the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent.
The decor was very dated. The mountains of exposed wiring on the outside of the building spoiled the over all look. The double bed was two single mattresses which made sleeping slightly uncomfortable
All aspects were very good, very comfortable bed, room was spacious clean well laid out with on suit facilities. Food and drink were sensibly priced, Super breakfast and the staff were excellent throughout.
Wi FI - Gave up trying to log in to the 'Free' wifi as it required me to register my personal details to gain access. Not prepared to do this on a shared public system.
staff were awesome and really enjoyed it
pipes were noisy but refurb being done soon
large room noiseless, parking, cleanliness, good breakfast
poor food of the restaurant
Friendly good breakfast value for money
Hotel a little tired. Breakfast waitress didn't want us to sit at different table to her choice ("this one is laid up for you") but once I insisted she was friendly enough. Bit of traIning in allowing customer choices would help
Location was good, room had a very nice bed
Window catches broken in the room, wallpaper hanging off, cracked tiles in the bathroom, very poor painting in the public areas, scuffed and worn carpet on the stairs
located in a quiet, lovely town rich, delicious breakfast the enthusiasm of the staff the warmth of the room the open-air restaurant
The pretty building & gardens The extensive food menu The price when booked through Booking.com rather than directly
The kitchen extractor fans (or similar) being outside the window. The door having a big gap under it so the landing light poured in (unless you stuff a spare pillow up against it) The tired and grim bathroom
Location to where we were visiting.
Was a fan running somewhere all the time. Every time someone went through the fire doors, they banged. Hate that!
enjoyed our stay
Friendly staff, outdoor eating / drinking areas. Care taken to place guests not attending wedding reception well away from the party area. Efforts to smarten the accommodation.
Slightly faded interiors, nothing disastrous but keep doing what you are doing, the effort shows. Digger in the garden one evening. Noisy Americans!
not far from CLA game show quite and pleasant location, staff mostly friendly and reasonably helpfull
after travelling from Norfolk are plan for weekend was to spend Saturday afternoon in Oxford, freshen up evening meal and a few drinks at the Dog House Hotel, early breakfast and full day at the CLA show. But after a totally sleepless night are weekend was spoilt On the second night I insisted on a fan for our room which in fairness they provided although very small and of not much use Room reasonably size but need totally revamp and good clean Bathroom need new fittings new shower when used do not flood the floor and generally a good clean and lick off paint
Staff efficiency. Location.
Being offered a room opposite the toilets which serve the main dining area however this was changed to a garden view room when we complained. The general decoration needs an overhaul in all the main areas & bedrooms. Dinner was substandard but service was good.
Lovely clean room, reasonable shower. Our meal in the restaurant was served quite quickly though it took ages to submit our order as there was a big party on there and staff were run off their feet.
Our room backed onto the garden and a party was taking place there outside so it disturbed our sleep to start with. It was an exceptionally hot night and we could have done with a fan in the room.
The staff were excellent. Food was great and very good value. Clean and comfy rooms with good beds. Short drive to Oxford park and ride. Good wi fi.
The fire doors need to be adjusted so they don't slam.
The staff - friendly and helpful.
Bed was awful, pillows, dreadful, bathroom was not clean, room extremely hot (noise from outside meant open windows kept me awake), wifi v poor (if existent), breakfast was average. Is was not worth £110 for the night I'm afraid. Sorry.
Lovely atmosphere. Josh, Tom and Anita very welcoming and helpful
This place is utterly charming and delightful. If you're not picky about every little detail being perfect (a missing light bulb cover, dated bathroom) but satisfied that everything works, then I can't recommend it highly enough. It has an utterly fascinating charm all around. And the complementary breakfast choices are superb. Really - eggs benedict - are you kidding?
You will have to hope the weather isn't too hot as there is no A/C. But it's England...
rooms staff food drink
The building, the atmosphere, the helpfulness of the staff, the fantastic breakfast.
Confusion on directions with our Sat Nav, which directed us to a different road of the same name not far away, but far enough away to be v frustrating. Called the hotel, who helpfully talked us through the navigation issues. Stairs were a bit steep, but that was to be expected,
Location. Staff. Breakfast.
Room 20 all night a mechanical device outside the bedroom window made a constant noise I only slept 2 hours I see in reviews this has happened before. I intend to contact Greene King for some form of rebate
