On the quayside, overlooking the river, in the historic port of Sandwich, this recently refurbished traditional hotel offers free Wi-Fi, an impressive restaurant and elegant, modern rooms.
Score from 202 reviews Very good
Set in peaceful landscaped gardens, Ramada Hotel Dover is just 10 minutes from Dover’s bustling Ferry Port and famous White Cliffs. It has free parking, a gym, and a themed restaurant.
Score from 902 reviews Very good
Just feet from Canterbury’s medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking, a short walk from the center of the city.
Score from 996 reviews Very good
Attractive old building from the outside and good location for our purposes.
Lack of concern for comfort of guests. No glasses in room, only 2 coat hangers, no toilet roll holder, only 1 hand towel, couldn't use shower as water scalding hot and wouldn't stay at temperature, no hook for shower, only hand held, no shower curtain, no shaving socket, light over bathroom mirror didn't work, banging and crashing from kitchen evening and morning, strong smell of cooking in room in evening, no cushions on bed for comfort while watching TV and we paid £99 for all of this!
The rooms have been refurbished in a style that maintains their character. Food and comfort were all superb
One or two items on the menu were not available, otherwise all was excellent
Great food. Excellent staff. Very accommodating. Lovely rooms. Couldn't fault it.
Service was faultless. Change of room when they realised a nicer one was available. Food was wonderful!
Breakfast was disappointing compared to previous nights dinner
Room was grotty. Place has no atmosphere. Never again.
Beautiful room ,with huge comfy settee. Friendly staff, excellent dinner. Dogs welcomed. Lovely village, close to Sandwich.
Not there long enough.
When full staff transfer guest to another hotel 15 miles away without informing us. apparently is standard procedure.
Food Staff Quality decor in rooms
Thin walls in bedroom
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was superb. We were in the family suite which was perfect for our needs.
The hairdryer didn't have a fuse in it so was unusable. No alternative available.
Waitress during breakfast was very helpful
General condition of the facility looked poor. Breakfast was simple
the fact i was moved to a slightly better room after second night.
because of my early starts & breakfast doesn't start until 8 am, staff forgot to make sandwiches two mornings out of five .
Really friendly and amenable staff. Would go out if their way for you. Massive +
Very small pokey room, almost falling over each other. Seemed clean enough in the right places. Believe me I'm picky. But it was a bit rough around the edges. Just old I guess.
Very nice rooms & great pub!
Paying for wifi, get real
Dinner Menu Drinks Range Friendly Staff Attention to detail Room facilities Car Park
Sign obscured by bush, made it difficult to find while driving. Breakfast options not obvious
The staff were helpful and advised on where we could go for drinks / dinner. Reason being that The Dog Inn closed early the evening of our arrival due to lack of staff. They did try to be accommodating due to this inconvenience, and also offered us a free drink by way of apology.
The bed was uncomfortable and the lack of staff on the first night meant that we had to find food and drink elsewhere - which wasn't what we planned for. While the staff available that evening tried to be helpful, you do wonder about the overall management of the Inn, that could let this happen. On checkout no staff were able to be found, so we simply left our key and walked out.
It's a lovely building with good potential
No management Non functioning smoke alarms, light bulbs, plug sockets Chef an waiter the same person so we waited hours for our breakfast All the local ales had gone off/ dirty pipes Generally shabby and poorly maintained A disappointment on many levels How do I get my money back? Will you be investigating as I think there are serious safety and governance concerns
Nice location with character. Plenty of local pubs and Indian restaurant within walking distance. Good parking. Decent bar. Very freindly staff. I would definitely stay there again for events at Lydden.
Evening menu looked expensive. Would benefit from additional clothes storeage (drawers) in room and a small table near plug sockets for the tea kit or extra sockets as the TV & cable box used the ones that were there.
To be honest I had the best night sleep I have had in years very peaceful
There was nothing not to like beautiful building great staff
Very good value for money very comfortable good brekfast excellent
Could hear noise from room above
Friendly amd unpretensious. Good food. Good secure parking at the back
Using the TV to listen to the radio - didn't work properly
Noisy, from bar, road, plumbing Cold, couldn't turn heating on. Shower not working
Beautiful location, excellent food and friendly staff
Lack of 'small touches' - hair dryer, glasses in bathroom etc.
I was travelling on business but at short notice found I had no choice but to bring my dog. This was no problem for the hotel/staff. Found the hotel small and friendly, so I didnt feel uncomfortable being a lone female traveller.
The shower pulsated from hot to cold and back to hot every few seconds, and I couldnt work out how to set to 'normal' as there were no instructions. No hairdryer in room. Found the room a little chilly for my liking. If I had been on vacation, there was no local tourist information available, and I would not have wanted to stay more than one or two nights max. Pity.
We have previously had a very comfortable stay at the Dog Inn, lovely room, good food and helpful staff.
Our room was shabby, there was nowhere to put things on in the bathroom, no toilet roll holder which meant twisting back round to get at loo roll. There was no mirror in the bedroom which made doing hair impossible and we were unable to check our outfits before going to posh dinner. It was like a room that had been forgotten with a couple of holes in the wall and grubby carpet. The duvet cover was torn as was the replacement one and the one after that.
