Nice quiet place for non adventurous people.
Ideal for train connections at VIctoria, easy walking distance. Beautiful jem of gardens to sit in a real oasis of calm in busy London. The Dolphin is a real find, very quite, calm and set in beautiful grounds.
Hard to find a negative.
We had room 610; 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms: living and kitchen: very large! Very good sleeping comfort. Environment good: barclays bikes around the corner. Diner in dolhin's restaurant also good! We made our own breakfast in our appartment with groceries from shops in dolphin shopping arcade.
The spa-employees and their policy: no kids younger than 18 allowed in gym! Only restricted hours in pool: 10-12 and 14-16. Didnt work for us with 16 and 18 year old daugthers. That is why we said facility: poor.
Rooms were lovely.. But corridors need some colour.. They feel stark and cold
The reception staff were not well trained I felt.. When I asked for some general information.. They were hesitant and did not respond quickly
Location (both proximity to central London and local environment), size of room, cleanliness, small in-house shopping centre
Noise transmitted from pool through to restaurant, uncomfortable bedding (but we realise that it is difficult to cater for all in relation to softness and hardness of bedding and pillows),
Cleanliness and amenities all excellent
Plumbing noise from adjoining rooms and excessive heat, rooms are small which is manageable but over-heating of the building is a problem
Was excellent value for money and it was ideally situated for the underground. Lovely room in a quiet location.Would definitely stay again.
Only complaint (which is very minor) is the check in arrangements. The first entrance you come to has a reception desk but this is not where you actually check in. Just wondered how many other people had to be redirected to another part of the building.
Excellent location in a very quiet tree lined neighbourhood. Lovely place at end of busy day to relax.
The provided hair dryer could not be used in front of the mirror in the bathroom. Need to provide alternate mirror near plug in or extention cord to reach into bathroom.
Some of the staff went beyond the call of duty to make the stay comfortable. Special mention is to a young gentleman with curly hair....but staff as a whole were excellent. The room and the bathroom were squeaky clean.
No free Wi Fi
Spacious room, with small kitchen
Long time taken in queue to check in. Having to pay extra for internet wifi.
Room was comfortable overall, and the hotel is very conveniently located near the Pimlico Tube station. The room and property are also very quiet, and are on a lovely street. Staff was quite helpful and friendly. Nice restaurant on site as well. I would recommend this hotel to others.
Room was a bit warm, and only air source was open windows. A small fan would improve the air flow.
We were very happy with the studio apartment we rented, everything was as it looked on the website, which isn't always the case. Nice helpful staff, so no hesitation in recommending this little gem.
One thing...when your paying a substantial amount of money per night, do they really need to charge you £10 a dayfor WiFi in the room!
garden views, spacious room. good local Spanish tapas restaurant
no kind of hob in the 'kitchen' - microwave does not =kitchen!
...and I loved it. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the beds are very, very comfortable. Dolphin House is located in a quiet Westminster area with restaurants, small supermarkets and underground and bus station nearby (take bus no. 24. It is going to Trafalgar Square via Westminster Abbey).
My friends ordered a birthday cake for me. The stuff at Dolphin House was not able to organize it in time. Thanks God I am on diet.
Bed was comfortable. Location was OK.
Noise from industrial plant outside the room mean I didn't sleep. I was in room 13 and it was hot - with no ventilation other than opening the window. Their were no sockets around the desk that could be used without crawling around under the table
Great location, with easy access to transport links (Underground, Buses, TfL "Boris" Bikes). Apartment well furnished, very comfortable.
Rooms were VERY warm!
We really enjoyed our stay at Dolphin House, great location, easy to access by car but also very close to tube station. Apartment was clean, spacious snd had everything we needed especially as we were travel lib with a 4 week old baby. Thought the milk and chilled water in the fridge was a nice touch. Will definately stay again and will recommend to others!
Location close to Central London was excellent. Certainly worth booking a larger appointment for added space and was very comfortable. Quiet area for London with good pub food close by as well as grocery stores for food shopping.
Reception staff were reasonably efficient but not really interested in helping much. Only one computer for guests who did not have their own and the printer was not working all the time we were there. GBP10 per day for wi-fi access in room is pretty expensive. Very limited kitchen equipment and no toaster - this did not match the good quality of the remainder of the apartment.
Fitness centre/pool were a great bonus. Also having a small shopping arcade was impressive.
Having to pay for wifi
Room 13 was so noisy , being above the boiler room and therefore any sleep was out of the question. I gave up after 2 hours of trying to ignore the persisitnat and deafining hum, and asked for another room on a different floor. Dolphin house is a lovely buiding , but badly let down by the location of these rooms . I have since cancelled further bookings .
Spacious rooms, good facilities.
Room was rather warm. Beneficial to have an air conditioning unit
Hypnos mattress. Relatively spacious bedroom and lounge Plenty storage room for clothes etc. Decor pleasant.
Noise from school playground sports areas - just across the road. No air con and poor kitchen facilities - 2 rings, no teapot and frying pans which were not non-stick. Small bathroom with those awful material shower curtains.
Location is great, few minutes from Tube, very pleasant area, plenty of taxis, easy to get around London. Lovely staff, very clean, well kept, comfortable room with plenty of plugs, a hairdryer, glasses and other good bits! Restaurant, gym, pool and shops all on site!
Very little, would be nice if the gardens were lit at night, especially with the good little restaurant there, on a hot summer's evening it would have been nice to sit outside, but that is just a thought, not a criticism. I'd stay again for sure and I am very fussy!
Dolphin House is an oasis in the middle of London! The location is excellent. It is a 2 minute walk from the Pimlico underground station, so easy access to everything. However the complex is completely quiet and peaceful, more like being in a nice suburb. No sirens or street noise or crowds on the street. The room was great (comfy king bed, nice bathroom, room-darkening curtains) and the kitchenette allowed us to cook each day, offsetting the high cost of staying in London.
Just 20-25 minutes walk to Buck Palace, or along Embankment to Parliament/Westminster Abbey. 5 min walk to Pimlico tube station. Fantastic location. Apartments very good: when you book, be aware not all have kitchens. Great old building; amazing central courtyard. Totally recommended.
External noise day and night but double glazing helps. Otherwise all good.
