Location! Worst nights sleep I have ever had. Had downstairs room in annex block. There was too much noise from outside and in the corridor. The floor boards were really creaky so when you needed the loo during the night then I woke my hubby up. I paid a reasonable price for the room but would sooner pay more to get a decent nights sleep!

The room we had, although part of the hotel, was a sort of seperate. Like an old servants quarters or similar. We really liked the quirkiness of this. The hotel is right in the city centre so the ferry terminals, bars, restaraunts and shopping areas are all accessible with a short walk. Not too drastic, but it was a little difficult to find how to get in to the hotel car park if you are not used to the Southampton streets, so would suggest doing a bit of research before turning up. The bar is way too expensive, even for a city centre hotel. Handed over a tenner for two drinks and was politely told "that isnt enough sir"..! Plenty of bars within a couple of mins walk...

Convenient overnight stop for cruisers and anyone who requires reasonably priced town centre accomodation.Helpful friendly staff. Seemed to be understaffed at times-Receptionist having to serve behind the bar etc.

The central location Trip up to room, up and down little passage ways and stairs. It felt like a rabbits warren. Plus the hallways and stairs smelt musty and damp in places.

beautiful building, good view, comfortable bed, description said there was a lift but failed to say many stairs were between our rooms and the lift. Despite the statement "Wi-fi in all areas" the only place any of the guests I encountered were able to get a useable signal was from the lobby, there was absolutely no signal from my room. The shower was tiny, I am a petite person and bumped my elbows so many times I feared breaking the glass doors.

Central, clean, uncomplicated, two dollar cab fare from dock and parking space. Very hard to criticise really. Couldn't find an information or tourist advice centre. Minor point, it would have been nice to have a little grassed area at the rear with a couple of benches to perhaps have a coffee.

The location to the port, shopping and sites was really great. They allowed early check in to accommodate my post cruise stay, and the room had a very nice view of the courtyard. The breakfast had a very nice variety of hot and cold selections. The distance to the room, and additional stairs after using the elevator that were required to get to the room. There were no temperature control units in the room. The window did open, but only a foot and was not screened.

We were joining a cruise sailing from Southampton and the hotel location was ideal for us, being a short taxi drive from docks We were in a front bedroom which was subject to noise from nightclub/bar across street. Perhaps a more expensive room might gain from a quieter location?

Good price when booked early and close to city centre and cruise terminal. Nothing really, just used it as a bed for the night.
