Exceptionally helpful staff wonderful rural location really good and spacious room excellent food
having to leave after only one night.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Beautiful, tranquil location. Spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Superb setting. Very comfortable room. Lou the manager could not have been more welcoming and did her best to ensure our stay was good. She lent us brochures and recommended places to see and do. Thank you Lou.
Meal on our first night was very poor hence 'poor' rating for facilities - we did not feel we could eat dinner in the hotel again.
Food the first night was excellent and the staff the first night were good as well
No views of lake? Décor tired Very young staff second night Very loud group of walkers in the lounge after dinner.
Beautiful tranquil setting with plenty of walks from the hotel. Fantastic views all around with neatly mowed lawns that blend well with the local farmland. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Saggy bed in room 2. Very expensive afternoon tea.
The quiet room and no lights or fans to disturb at night. very comfortable beds and pillows Breakfast was good - quality and choice Friendly staff
There was a a misunderstanding over the evening meal. We were under the impression that you had to book for a full three course meal and would have liked a light option.
nice food, friendly staff
We liked our room and views it was clean and the people were very friendly. The breakfast and dinner was lovely!!!
We were cordially greeted at Plas Dolserau reception; a lift to the first floor was welcomed, and the traditionally designed room suited our needs perfectly. Our evening meal and full Welsh breakfast was delicious. Overall, the experience was positive and according to conversations we had with regular visitors to Plas Dolserau, we were not on our own in appreciating this venue. My wife and I shall certainly be considering revisiting Plas Dolserau.
Food was excellent-evening meal was mouthwatering, breakfast delicious! Rooms spacious and spotless! Staff were also fantastic!
Maybe restaurant could do with having a bit of backround music as it was quite quiet and awkward when we arrived. Minor detail though.
Very friendly Welsh speaking staff.
The quality of the food, especially the breakfast
Guests being treated like schoolchildren by being asked to decide on evening meal choice immediately after breakfast; It is difficult to sleep in rooms that abut immediately on to a fire escape as the room is fitted with a garish green light to indicate the position of the fire escape, which must be obvious to anyone staying in the room - management answer "It's due to health and safety." Dirty table linen; room left in a disgusting state by the maintenance contractor who fitted the garish green light.
Welsh-speaking staff. Location. Quality of food
Chef unable to fry hard egg.i
Nice building with beautiful surroundings and in a great location to get to the coast or the hills.
The room wasn't prepared when we arrived. In particular we had no towels and the floor had not been vacuumed - the carpet was soiled from the previous occupants and the previous occupants bags were still in the room when we arrived.
food friendly staff
As couple with two children we've been visiting Dolserau Hall for couple of days. Service was excellent, stuff very very kind, food perfect. Premises are cosy and clean. We felt like home. Highly recommended for others.
No weak points :)
Friendly and helpful staff. After noon tea was lovely. Welsh Breakfast was lovely.
Dead flies on the window sill. Not very good choice of desserts on dinner menu. Veggi breakfast would be better with a Glamorgan or quorn sausage not a veggi sausage with peas.
Beautiful place inside and out and the relaxed and welcoming staff who were all friendly in making the a long journey worth while
nothing much only that the bathroom floor had talc on it whoops
Food & Staff.
Tired rooms. No beds made up ! Expensive for what it is.
We enjoyed a very relaxing couple of days, where the location is so beautiful. We were well looked after by the very friendly, efficient staff and fed with wonderful food.. The Hotel is Old but well maintained. Recommend to all.
Location was perfect - I wanted to stay the night to be ready to attack the mountains in my car come morning. Staff were friendly.
The fact the WiFi was broken and there is no phone signal at the hotel was a bit annoying.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and service were excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet and beautiful scenery and the room we had was one of the best I have stayed in over the last few years.
Our room (number 16) was right by the lift so could be a little noisy. However as we were only staying for one night (unfortunately) that was a minor issue and certainly did not spoil our visit.
The peaceful location but near enough to both mountains and beach to be able to spend leisure time at either. Food was excellent and company was good. Many a pleasant evening could be spent in socialising.
On checkout our bill and that of another guest were completely mixed in that we had their wine and papers booked to our room and he had our bar drinks added to his. We both unfortunately realised this mix up too late to go back to the hotel and complain as we had already settled up and departed in different directions. Had the addresses been on the bills it could have been worse in that people could have used the name and address falsely if they so desired.
Return visiy after a good few years. Last time was also the Kayes last year. Very little change just as good as before.
I know why its been done, but the best part of the lounge used to be the part now allocated to HF groups. Shame for the private visitor as it was a real cosy retreat with its wood fired stove.
