Fabulous,
Score from 26 reviews
“ An excellent base for exploring the area. The staff were very courteous and helpful and ensured that the hotel had a welcoming and friendly feel about it. The catering was exceptional. There was a very good choice at both breakfast and dinner and packed lunches were available for those that wanted them. The chef clearly has an excellent understanding of flavour and makes quality his first priority. ”

Spacious rooms and very friendly staff! Nothing really. Everything was great except the booking process with Booking.com (no fault of the Hotel)- despite booking a room for 2 adults a child, this information was not passed on from Booking.com to the Hotel. Lou in the hotel was great and she managed the situation well and arranged a room with an extra bed for my son in no time! If you use Booking.com, it would be better if you ring the hotel directly to ensure that your requirements are passed on!

WE DID INTEND TO STAY LONGER BUT IT WAS TOO QUIET.

Spacious friendly clean & disabled friendly I wanted a room with a shower as I'm unable to fet into the bath unfortunetly they didn't have one but were very helpful & considerate over it & went out of their way to make sure I felt comfotable . They had a tour staying there at the same time & all staff were busy at meal times with them so at dinnertime they forgot our veg we managed to get a waitress after nearly 10mins to remind her (she did bring everyone elses the same time as their meals but for some reason forgot ours, the following morning breakfast we waited about 30 mins for our cooked breakfast, the waitress did apologise. The private guests were sitting in a different dining area from tour guests. Would it not be better if one waitress was assigned just to private guests. It wouldn#t have been too much for her as only 4 tables where we were sitting & just 2/3 in next area which were empty. This spoiled an otherwise lovely stay, we would go back again but hopefully they will have it sorted by then. We did tell Lou the managress & I think another couple complained to her also.

The location was great, the hotel room very clean & comfortable. The restaurant staff and management - Louise and Lynn were very friendly, warm and made us feel very welcomed. I would recommend Dolserau highly and will stay again at the hotel if I return to North Wales.

The room in the coach house overlooks a delightful walled garden. Really beautiful. The room is delightful, spacious and comfortable. Views breathtaking. Location stunning and peaceful. Complimentary sherry in the rooms. Nice touch. Breakfast buffet spread was par excellence. The all inclusive dinner menu is good value for money. 4 courses for £25. The all inclusive menu is good value for money. 4 courses for £25. However, the website makes a deal of the award winning chefs, and the stunning food. I guess a lot of people eat very humbly at home and would have found this menu a real treat, but gastronomically it was less than the website leads you to believe. eg I had pork loin for main meal. It really was a very ordinary pork chop cooked in a very ordinary way with the usual toughness. It is hard to know whether to say anything; after all this menu is £25. How can one complain? But this is my honest appraisal.

The location and grounds were lovely to walk around. Staff very friendly and helpful Our room was in the annexe and although it was ok there and we were able to use the facilities of the hotel it was not the same as being in the atmosphere of the main hotel.

Loved the place, there is something magical about it, The mOment you enter you feel you are home, food From breakfast to dinner is great, the walks n waterfalls N nature is just breath taking The biggest turn off is the staff , they need to be a little more friendly It's good but when you are away from the house you expect everything to be great Then there are silly charges like if you checkout Late £15 if you check in late £30 which isn't about Money but just comfort other than that everything is superb as this was our second time may be thats why we felt not treated like the first timr

The staff were particularly good; friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the food was excellent. The setting was everything we expected having read the description. Assuming that I didn't miss it, it would have been helpful if the website had made clear whether the room being booked was in the main building (which we would have chosen) or the coach house. There is nothing wrong with those in the coach house, once you are there, but as the weather was bad the walk to and fro for meals was irritating.

Really pretty location...we saw it in both rain and shine! Loved the fact they had their own prepared guides for walks, that was really helpful. Everyone was really attentive but not leaving you feeing bullied in any way. You have to be careful with directions as its not well signed...but then thats more an issue with the roads than the hotel! A really minor point but in buying wine the by the glass choices were minimal. I would have liked at least another white and red option. That said, like much of the menu it was right in the middle of price vs quality though so that was great.

Very attentive staff, excellent food, lovely bedroom (No 1), nice location and very good value for money for DBB at price paid (£100 for the room bed & breakfast and £20 each for dinner and aftermoon tea). The is something about the decor that grates slightly and the furnishings don't sit comfortably with a 'luxury' hotel (an upmarket nursing home someone said!).

The staff were excellent and attended to every need. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was good. This was quite an expensive 4 night stay. The hotel is jaded and needs updating internally. The exterior requires attention too - it looks tired and in need of some tlc.

The food and the staff were just great. The room nice, clean, and well heated. Highly recommended especially for travellers from continental Europe who are struggling to find in the UK a hotel with a good kitchen and service for a reasonable price.

The room was large, airy and very comfortable although decor/furnishings were a bit dated. The bed was huge and room facilities were excellent with 2 TV's and sofa in the lounge area. The complimentary decanter of sherry was a nice touch. Bathroom more than adequate with extra large towels provided. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Restaurant was very nice and food was delicious but would have preferred to choose our own table instead of having one allocated by room number. We were told there would be complimentary cake and tea/coffee in the lounge/bar area in the afternoon (subject to booking into the restaurant that evening for a meal). However, there was only tea/coffee available - no cake. My husband was quite disappointed about that! Overall an enjoyable stay in a luxurious hotel with excellent food in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We would definitely go back again.

This was a very nice location if you want to walk or visit Snowdonia region. Very quiet hotel. Nice and friendly staff. Breakfast was super, dinner not so but already good for GB. We had the feeling of being too young, all other hotel guests where much older. The staff worked there already very long (which is very positive) but they are all in a kind of used routine of doing the things f.e. coffee after dinner. The system of getting hot water in the shower made a lot of noise when showering. Would be good to have some fresh paint and wallpaper in the hotel.

An absolutely stunning location just a few minutes drive outside Dolgellau. Great service and excellent food,weI'd stay again. It was a little quiet during our stay so on occasions it lacked atmosphere, but this is not necessarily a bad thing as we wanted peace and quiet and to get away from our busy lives
