Donington Manor Hotel  

Located so close to Donington Park, so a perfect hotel for Superbike racing. Right in the centre of Castle Donington so perfect for petrol heads to soak up the atmosphere on a race weekend. I was a solo traveller and was made to feel very welcome from the time I arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, even organising taxis for me. Room was superb. Very friendly staff all over the hotel. Not sure what planet some of the previous reviewers were on with trivial criticisms. This hotel is splendid in my opinion.

Nothing will stay again

As always excellent service and enjoyably relaxing stay. Large room with quiet garden view of trees and flowers. Decor a little tired but more than made up with size of room and bathroom. Room and bathroom kept very clean. King size comfy bed. Will be back again next year.

Excellent food and great service. Family run style feeling (although its not) rather than standard chain hotel. Has just changed ownership although staff and quality as yet remain the same as before.

Air traffic noise as close to East Midlands Airport

Excellent location to East Midlands Airport.Fairly in expensive with breakfast included.

Room quality average, fittings dated. Took along time for hot water in the shower to appear.

Fantastic Suite, with Olde World charm, quite luxurious for the price. Superb food in the restaurant, with excellent friendly service.

Location perfect for the stay and event we attended

The charming staff. The nicely cooked breakfast, delivered to my table. The enormous room (twice the size of the room I recently had in nearby Hilton - which was twice the price).

The dining room at Donington Manor was pleasant. Dinner was good and the service was friendly and efficient. There was more than an adequate choice of breakfast, which included my favourite, smoked haddock and poached egg. The coffee was also very good.

My only complaint was that our room was rather cold. We did mention this to reception but the radiators never came on. Also, the front door of the hotel had to be left open as it had been freshly painted, which made it feel cold in the dining room. The waitress kindly closed the room door on request.

Very nice and big rooms with a lot of character. It is located in the city centre of this small historical town. The countryside is very close buy and includes some interesting museums as well. Very pleasant place and staff.
