Donington Manor Hotel  

Located so close to Donington Park, so a perfect hotel for Superbike racing. Right in the centre of Castle Donington so perfect for petrol heads to soak up the atmosphere on a race weekend. I was a solo traveller and was made to feel very welcome from the time I arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, even organising taxis for me. Room was superb. Very friendly staff all over the hotel. Not sure what planet some of the previous reviewers were on with trivial criticisms. This hotel is splendid in my opinion.

The heating in my bathroom didn't work very well but the heating in my room did so I left the bathroom door open to compensate. I had problems locking my room door. Staff locked it for me when I went out in the evening. It didn't lock properly when I came home as someone managed to open my door in the early hours of the morning(they didn't enter realising it was the wrong room)

Outstanding staff and good food.

A few of the public areas were a little 'jaded' However, the room we had was very good.

Breakfast was good value for money

Friendly atmosphere, in a well run establishment.

The building has been sympathetically restored by its current owners and its staff very pleasant and efficient.

The shower room was a little cramped.

The staff from the receptionist to the bar staff were extreemly pleasent

Room 2 was a little tired carpets marked sink cracked shower gel not suplyed

Proximity to East Midlands airport. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant and quality and presentation of food. Good sized double room. Off road parking.

No lift. Having to ask for a tv remote control, as there was not one in the room.

Grand old coach house with real character.

Attention to detail was poor. Tv in room although new did not work, wallpaper peeling and paint damaged throughout. Room smelt old and fusty.The shame is it could be so good.

The staff were very attentive and friendly.Food was of an excellent standard. The beds were very comfortable and room had a nice ambience.

Only let down by poor quality pillows

The dining room at Donington Manor was pleasant. Dinner was good and the service was friendly and efficient. There was more than an adequate choice of breakfast, which included my favourite, smoked haddock and poached egg. The coffee was also very good.

My only complaint was that our room was rather cold. We did mention this to reception but the radiators never came on. Also, the front door of the hotel had to be left open as it had been freshly painted, which made it feel cold in the dining room. The waitress kindly closed the room door on request.

Good location for Donington Park. Room was lovely. Restaurant was small but had lovely evening meal. Bar was lively due to a wedding being held that day.

Lovely old building in a picturesque village. Very quiet despite a wedding party. Very large and comfortable room

Decor, furniture and style now quite tired. The room had signs of damp on the ceiling but was otherwise clean. Unable to have a light meal in the bar due to the wedding party.
