Leaving at the end of our stay. Gready. They had 2 weddings on the same 2 days that we stayed. When we booked they would have known about both weddings but did not tell us they would be busy. They moved the times of our spa treatments, had the restaurant booked to the hilt, had most tables in the bar reserved, did not offer alternatives. It was a case of like it or lump it. We were stuck in the middle on the road side of the hotel and disturbed by revellers until 03:30 a.m. both nights. Never again.

The food was amazing Our room was disappointing, the shower door was broken, reported it 3x but it didn't get repaired as the maintenance guy doesn't work at the wkends!!! The shower also had mould, wasn't clean to the standard I would expect. Due to the shower door being broken they was going to move our room, however the room we was being transferred to had no lights in the bathroom, so half way through the move we decided to stay in the original room, they did offer to move us again, but we went there for a wkend rest!!!! This place is very expensive, the pool is used by outsiders so is always full, we was going to have a swim the morning before we left, baring in mind you have to book out by 11, but a childs splash party had been booked, so not much of a leisure break :( very disappointing. The spa was fully booked when we arrived so couldn't get many treatments, they were also very expensive. When booking out, there was lots of confusion, I believed I had pre-paid for the room via a debit card, which should have been debited before our stay, we also upgraded our room, we paid cash for this when we arrived, they then tried to charge us again for this, as they tried to charge us twice for a couple of other items we had paid for in full, luckily the other receptionist remembered us paying for our upgrade when we arrived, on confirmation that they had received payment for the booking we left, I then contacted booking.com to check only to be told the hotel had made a mistake !! huge headache however Sallie the manageress was very good, she upgraded us to the a la carte menu for dinner because of our problems with the rooms :) This hotel made us feel like we could've easily ruined our wkend by having to complain all the time, we went for some relaxation and de-stressing, sadly we came home with more stress than we went with !

The waiting staff seemed a little disorganised, we were not able to eat in the restaurant on the Saturday night - and were not told this when we booked the weekend.

Staying for Christmas, I was impressed with the way the hotel was decorated, especially the gingerbread scene and real Christmas Tree in Reception area. The spa facilities are excellent, as are the staff. Also very impressed with the service from the staff in general, which was very quick, polite and helpful. My daughter (N. Reeves) was disappointed with the size of their suite given that they had a 14-month old child. The standard of food was very good indeed, although I've never had Christmas Dinner without bread sauce and the sprouts were like bullets! An excellent hotel with a relaxed and friendly manner, which thankfully genuinely welcomes children. We hope to stay again but with a larger suite!

The staff were amazing, very friendly, couldnt do enough for us! Food was the best ive ever tasted and the facilities exeptional and complimentary! Perfect place for relaxation and to get away from it all!

Good sized relaxing bar area, pleasant dinningroom, good food, comfortable rooms with large bathroom Chairs in bar / lounge could do with more variety - maybe add some more relaxing seating

Enjoyed the gym and swimming pool and steam/sauna areas. The breakfast was very good - one of the best breakfast's I have had in many years - the black pudding was delicious! The staff were all very helpful and friendly while still giving a professional service. Overall a very relaxing stay. There was nothing I didn't like about my stay!

It's location and facilities also good décor. When my booking was lost, the lack of pro-activity of the staff to find me two alternative rooms was very very disappointing even though I showed them my booking confirmation.

I liked the spa, I thought the massage I had was lovely. Breakfast was nice as well. I was shocked to see people older than me, 35+ guzzling beer and downing champagne in the public pool area, they took up the whole space leaving no room for me and my boyfriend to relax. For an executive room I would have expected a little bit of food/drink other than water in the fridge. The reception staff were friendly but one lady was quite abrupt when I had a few questions to ask. The holes on the golf course were very poorly signposted so everyone kept playing the wrong holes! Plus was hugely congested on the saturday. I won't be returning.

Very little The staff were of little assistance. You would expect taht if teh checking out time is 12 o'clock then the (suite - on 3 of them) rooms should be ready by 2pm! The receptionist was particularily unhelpful, we had a meeting at 3pm and managed to get into the suite at 2.45pm. The advise would make checking out at 11am and give the cleaning staff time to prepare the rooms. We were one of amny couples waiting for rooms.

The Spa facilities were lovely. The more senior member of staff on reception who sorted out a room change and treatments in the spa was very friendly, professional and helpful and more than made up for our initial treatment at reception. I did not feel that the Initial Classic room we were put in was of the standard I expected.

Excellent facilities, excellent evening meal and a great massage in a clean new spa. Pool, steam and sauna all first class. Room facilities good for the price. Will considervthis hotel again when traveling through from south to north of uk.

Spa and lesiure centre is excellent, good equipment, spotlessly maintained. Rooms are acceptable 4 star standard. Staff and service levels are poor, getting attention at the (empty) bar was difficult. Restaurant staff were intrusive, even while we were still in the bar, to the point of ignorance. Overall we felt the service levels could do with major improvement. Restaurant food was acceptable, but not at all memorable.
