Staff were friendly without being overbearing or obsequious.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff in all areas of the hotel were very helpful and attentive. Excellent meal in restaurant and most comprehensive wine list we have ever experienced. Leisure facilities were also excellent.
A very comfortable stay again, from first to last. All staff welcoming and cheerful; food delicious; great selection of wines by the glass with excellent and knowledgeable recommendations from the sommeliere. Spa very relaxing. Room spotless, quiet and well equipped.
That I could only stay for one night!
Breakfast was awful & having to ask for someone to serve was mortifying
Helpful staff... friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. Good food in restaurant No complaints
the room was very good
excellent service, delicious food, nice breakfest, pool and spa very good
Room was lovely, had fridge and dvd player. Lots of storage. Bed very comfy. Spa is lovely, can get rather busy in the day.
Breakfast was expensive and only ok
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very good
Good food in the restaurant, comfy bed, nice spa
Slow and confused service, food in the bar, noisy aquarobics in the pool
Not much, although the reception and bar staff were fine.
The restuarnt. It was terrible on so many levels. Poor service with most staff, and there were a lot of them, not knowing what to do. Their cloths, especially trousers, were so dirty and crumpled I am not sure they should have been around food. Also the food was terrible. There is no way this was 4 star.
Nice spa facilities, bar and a pretty good restaurant with an ambitious menu but which under-delivered somewhat (soft crackling, overlooked salmon). Excellent staff and wine list.
Had booked a double room but on arrival found I had a twin, and as the hotel was full, no option of changing it for my first night.
The helpfulness of all the staff
There was nothing we didn't like
Friendly staff, good service, didn't use leisure facilities but they looked fab.
Lady on reception who checked us in was really great, could not have been more helpful with early check-in, taxi to races etc, a real credit to the hotel!
Everything was amazing, can't really fault it.
The choice of food in the restaurant could have been better I.e the food you could order in the bar you should be able to order in the restaurant,I could be wrong...you may be able to do that but it didn't say you could or have it on the restaurant menu but that isn't a major issue as the town is minutes away with many restaurants.
The hotel is excellent.
One downside you need to pay for wifi extra.
We liked. The catering and leisure facilities
Guests need access to a car as it is a rural facility.
good food, friendly restaurant staff attentive and well trained.
The noise in room 404; air-conditioners or refridgeration units from the kitchen below; main water tank above. When I asked to move next morning, receptions excuse that the hotel was full. I pre-warned my late arrival by phone call, and I had booked this up several weeks earlier - My arrival should not have been a surprise! Return from work to another room - a twin rather that the double I had booked weeks before. Very disappointing. The receptionists belief that removing breakfast from the bill (payed by my company) somehow compensates for the worst night sleep I have had in a very long time. Its not about the money! My first stay at this hotel was very very disappoionting all round. Back to the dowdy old Hilton for me.
The evening meals in the restaurant, choice of wines and the spa facilities
Queuing for breakfast on a Saturday morning and not even being properly greeted at the restaurant - wrong member of staff appointed to welcome guests to the restaurant. Having finally managed to get seated everything was either finished in the buffet or completely over cooked. The breakfast experience was thankfully better on the Sunday morning
Everything from booking in to room and facilities. Restaurant by night superb. Cafe for daytime really good, and comfortable. Could tell not a chain by the finishing touches. Treatment area really good . Friendly staff and fab products. Congrats to owner of this hotel as I believe is private not chain as it really shows. This was my second stay and they gave me an upgrade in room choice.restaurant in evening was super,we had three course special menu £28 and every course was exceptional. Staff were so friendly and very relaxed feeling in restaurant. I am a travel tour operator and coach operator for groups, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would like a price breakfast included.
Great pool and gym facilities. Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Service in main resteraunt was very slow.
Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff; all rooms and public areas clean and well appointed, including the excellent pool and spa area. Ask the sommeliere for wine recommendations with your dinner - she knows her stuff!
blanket is too thin, getting too cold at night.
The room and grounds were fine
Service extremely slow reason given by staff ,staff shortage . Hotel cold and draffty especially in the public areas .unable to use spa treatments as fully booked no advise to book prior to arrival no compensation offered
