Spa and pool were lovely, clean and well looked after. The room was clean Free parking
Poor bar staff, no idea how to pour a pint! shower in room needed attention, getting old..
Staff very welcoming and friendly. Excellent bed and quality linen. Fantastic breakfast.
Bath was chipped. Shower head needed a clean. Some flaking paintwork.
Relaxing bar area & afternoon tea.
A little too far from the town.
Staff, bedroom, food, and particularly my treatment in the health suite.
Public rooms too cold and noisy. No hair-dressing facility - had to go into town.
Rooms were spacious and very clean. Hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and the décor is lovely
large spacious room.excellent clean bathroom, bathrobes a nice extra.even though wedding was taking place the whole hotel was quiet.checking in went smoothly.
we decided to have a bar snack.the staff were busy but my meal arrived cold..I didnt complain as wasnt sure if feta tart and boiled potatoes were meant to be hot or cold! barman wasnt sure about carribean coffee..two thirds cream and cold! the only complaint in room was tv was on same wall as bed so had to sit on sofa to watch!!
like the location. don't like their 'game'. we made reservations 1/28 for stay 9/13. were put in inferior rooms. we were moved to a/c wing but we had to ask and insist. they said that the 2 rooms had 'just opened up from a cancellation'. I don't believe them. They put us in inferior rooms because we did not book directly thru them. rather than an apology they asked my husband if I needed a drink. really?!?!
we were put in inferior rooms I think because we booked thru booking.com. I went to a friend's room in another wing which had air conditioning, a view, and was quite nice. we were in the 'attic' rooms, with granny linnens, looking over the trashcans and with no a/c. (picked the place for a/c) beds hard as rocks. stay away from the short wing that sticks out on the right. either the 400 rooms or the rooms that are less than the number 5....
Staff were friendly without being overbearing or obsequious.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff in all areas of the hotel were very helpful and attentive. Excellent meal in restaurant and most comprehensive wine list we have ever experienced. Leisure facilities were also excellent.
A very comfortable stay again, from first to last. All staff welcoming and cheerful; food delicious; great selection of wines by the glass with excellent and knowledgeable recommendations from the sommeliere. Spa very relaxing. Room spotless, quiet and well equipped.
That I could only stay for one night!
Breakfast was awful & having to ask for someone to serve was mortifying
Helpful staff... friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. Good food in restaurant No complaints
the room was very good
excellent service, delicious food, nice breakfest, pool and spa very good
Room was lovely, had fridge and dvd player. Lots of storage. Bed very comfy. Spa is lovely, can get rather busy in the day.
Breakfast was expensive and only ok
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very good
Good food in the restaurant, comfy bed, nice spa
Slow and confused service, food in the bar, noisy aquarobics in the pool
Not much, although the reception and bar staff were fine.
The restuarnt. It was terrible on so many levels. Poor service with most staff, and there were a lot of them, not knowing what to do. Their cloths, especially trousers, were so dirty and crumpled I am not sure they should have been around food. Also the food was terrible. There is no way this was 4 star.
Nice spa facilities, bar and a pretty good restaurant with an ambitious menu but which under-delivered somewhat (soft crackling, overlooked salmon). Excellent staff and wine list.
Had booked a double room but on arrival found I had a twin, and as the hotel was full, no option of changing it for my first night.
The helpfulness of all the staff
There was nothing we didn't like
Friendly staff, good service, didn't use leisure facilities but they looked fab.
Lady on reception who checked us in was really great, could not have been more helpful with early check-in, taxi to races etc, a real credit to the hotel!
Everything was amazing, can't really fault it.
The choice of food in the restaurant could have been better I.e the food you could order in the bar you should be able to order in the restaurant,I could be wrong...you may be able to do that but it didn't say you could or have it on the restaurant menu but that isn't a major issue as the town is minutes away with many restaurants.
The hotel is excellent.
One downside you need to pay for wifi extra.
We liked. The catering and leisure facilities
Guests need access to a car as it is a rural facility.
