The spa is lovely and the rooms very comfortable.
The service is appalling! Staff very unproffesional on the whole. Awful food!
Food was excellent and well presented. Prompt and polite staff throughout our stay. Location beautiful and the mix of the old with the new was blended very well. Spa facilities excellent. A lovely stay and one to come back too.
Having to leave.
The hotel is beautiful and modern, without losing the charm of the Cotswolds! Cosy. The location is very good. The staff is very friendly and thoughtful. Clearly the hotel is very concerned about the well being of guests. Excellent restaurant. Definitely intend to return. Best hotel we have ever stayed. I just regret not having stayed longer and not have enjoyed the spa.
The spa was amazing !
Stylish decor Amazing spa Great food Professional and friendly staff
Level of service in the restaurant was a bit inconsistent
Super comfortable cool rooms. Gorgeous spa but very expensive - book in advance as availability low Food/Breakfast good Gorgeous surroundings for walks.
Staff were a bit slow - reception didn't answer phone calling from room.
It was a lovely Birthday treat to spend a very comfortable night at this newly refurbished hotel. Menu and cooking were fresh, thoughtful and well executed. The pastries at breakfast were not too good though.
No immediate access to footpaths or the adjacent golf course. The booking process went wrong when it came to the final bill...booking.com was not communicating well with the hotel reception.
Stunning hotel with great staff, a beautiful spa and lovely food. We had one of the best massage/ facials.
Great experience all together
Generally all of it.
No proper air-con in outside rooms but this is being sorted next year, bedrooms need more blackout features at night.
The check in - amazing! Walked in and the staff knew who we were The staff - All very friendly The spa - Bliss! The rooms - Lovely décor, very fresh, superb bathrooms The food - Spa sundeck in the evening with a G&T and Club sandwich! The location - Very close to Broadway and Chipping Campden The grounds - Lovely walks just round the corner in the estate
Some prejudice exhibited by a staff member before establishing we were residents. Instantly changed attitude on realising.
Warm welcome Spa Breakfast , lunch and dinner Well trained , happy staff
We spend a wonderful few days in a very comfortable hotel with a very friendly stuff. Excellent food !
Everything about the place
If you had to say that something was not perfect, it was the temperature at which the carafe of white wine was served. It was not sufficiently chilled. But it is churlish to highlight one (minor) negative when there were so may superlatives!
Lots of comfortable , intimate spaces to relax in. Welcoming and friendly staff. Large, beautiful bedrooms
General ambiance and refitted facilities
Bar staff could do with more training. Getting pre dinner drinks too much effort. On both evenings I had to track down staff who seemed blind to coming and asking us what we wanted.
Extremely comfortable room with delightful, subtle decor. Bedding is exquisitly soft. Housekeeping phoned to inquire about preferred timing for turndown service which was much appreciated over hotels that consistently knock as guests are dressing for an evening out. as for going out, there is no reason to leave Dormy which offers both formal dining and cozy brasserie in the bar. several lovely rooms with books, games, fires give guests relating places outside of their rooms which is always appreciated by those of us on long journeys.
Egg Benedict (only one egg) hence no plural. Beautiful setting and comfortable room.
Pretension triumphs over substance. Willing young staff lack training and professional supervision; indeed there was an almost total absence of visible management direction. Main restaurant delivered lesser quality than the bar restaurant and just didn't quite get there. Our visit, a return to our honeymoon hotel of 40 years ago proved that all has not been progress and was marred by some idiot setting off the very loud fire alarm at 2am on our first night. An incident which produced no apologies for the inconvenience and slowness in switching it off - that kind of summed up the absence of decent management.
Parking near the room.
1) Room 35 have now window and can only open the door and view to at stone wall. 2) Too many staff with little knowledge of hospitality and no supervisors around. 3) No concierge and reception staff can not recommend the best day excursions for self drive guests. 4) At breakfast must cut chees with fork as no knife, same water glasses must get from other room. Not refill milk for tea. Dinner menu missing one page with first course but still charge full menu cost. Smaller bfast room only for show and guests not allowed to eat there. 5) Room service. No light at entrance for 4days bulb not replaces as well as tissues. One day get 2 bottles still water as ordered but next day get sparkling water.
Our stay wasn't long enough.
Great design, spa, friendly staff
No bath in the room
Thought the staff were excellent considering the first room I was given was terrible they made it a pleasure spa was brilliant not overcrowded very peaceful shame it wasn't open bit later was a bit rushed in there
Nothing I cud say I didn't like but the first room I was given no5 was terrible overlooking air conditioning units+ led roof that's it
Absolutely everything. The warm welcome, the smiles all around, our room delightfully furnished and decorated, the AMAZING spa facilities, our delicious dinner in the Garden room and breakfast at the Potting Shed brasserie. We left totally relaxed, reconnected. Thank you so, so much for a memorable weekend break.
I cannot find one negative thing to say. Perhaps there could be more seats by the pool at the spa, but really this was not a big problem for us.
I'm sure Dormy House is a popular place but somehow they give you the feeling that you are the only guests there and that you have the place entirely to yourselves. This is matched with really warm & attentive service by genuinely happy and polite staff. The spa was pure luxury and never too busy to relax in in private. As were the numerous cosy living room/seating/relaxing/socialising areas all decorated in their own beautiful & unique style. The food is amazing quality and well priced for breakfast, lunch and dinner each served in glamorous but relaxing and comfortable surroundings. Great bedrooms with huge comfy beds and high quality bathrooms both fully equipt with all the modern toys you could hope to find in any 5 star hotel. It was a special weekend for me and my fiance made even better by the lovely staff. We can't wait to go back there again asap!
I simply cannot fault this place. PERFECT!
A lovely quiet break in the country, we had a wonderful evening meal in the Garden Room and a few hours using the spa. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud, the intimate rooms are fantastic, so much attention to detail. This is certainly the most wonderful place to stay.
The receptionist was a little frosty on arrival which was a slight disappointment but this was only one member of staff, everyone else was very helpful and friendly
The accomodation was superb. The spa was brilliant and the food excellent. We will definitely be returning soon
