Score from 312 reviews Fabulous
Set in quiet and affluent Jesmond, next to leafy Jesmond Dene park, this stylish hotel offers modern rooms with flat-screen TVs.
Score from 336 reviews Very good
friendly staff, room facilities and decor good, nice sized bathroom, good shower. beds comfy and clean bedding superfast wifi
cleanliness lets this place down, room had not been hoovered, with peanuts and threads small bits of rubbish on floor, tea/coffee but no mugs and the tray had not been cleaned covered in coffee stains, shower had loads of hairs in bottom of tray
the friendly and welcoming staff
The homely manner of the Hotel and the friendly staff. There is also a Parrot in the corner of the main lounge which impersonates a Dog! You have to stay here to listen to that alone.
There's nothing you can fault about the Dorset hotel, the staff and owner made us feel really welcome, the location was great for the nearby golf course we went to and not too far from the centre of town for the night, would most definately return
Very friendly staff comfy bed what for the price
I stay regularly now here on business having found it by chance when Premier Inn was full.Stayed three times now and would not stay anywhere else now.
All of it
the staff were excellent. could not do enough for you. very friendly and helpful.
The location suited our needs, the outside and the gardens were very picturesque.
Hotel was under going some refurbishment, the room we had had been decorated but the windows were in need of replacement and did not close properly. The room was located over the bar entrance where smokers congregated, so was noisy. The restaurant was not open in the evening so we had to eat out. There was no alternative at breakfast for a gluten free / dairy free quest although it was stated at booking. At 10pm loud music started and we had to request that it was turned down (this did not happen) it went on till just after mid-night. We checked out after only one night
Lovely place to stay, staff were very friendly, the room was great and the resident animals were gorgeous. Will definitely use again.
Nothing negative to write about
A pub with a lot of local charm. Ideal location for wallsend. Near local metro and metro station. Nothing is too much trouble for Stan the manager.
Bar noisy early on, it is afterall a sports bar. It did finish before 11, so didn't bother me, but could be an issue for those with young children.
Friendly greeting and helpful
Had to ask for supplies eg toilet rolls, towels, coffee, milk etc. Stayed for 2 nights and room wasn't cleaned.
The hotel was really friendly and the room was brilliant. i hope to stay again
Good warm welcome and rooms are good especially for a group. Bar downstairs is reasonably priced and friendly. Easy Taxi to Newcastle.
would say nothing was bad if you look at the price paid don't think I could have asked for more.
Free car park
It was cold no heating x the owner had jeans and a mucky t shirt on x no plug on wash basin x shower and window black with mould need I go on...,.
Great place lovely staff would use again :-)
No problems :-)
The staff were friendly
The place needed a woman's touch. The bedrooms were dirty. There was only a sheet on the soiled mattress. I am 75 years of age and have stayed in many hotels. This was the worst! Also we had 2 rooms as our daughter was with us. It was supposed to be a treat!!! The cost was outrageous for what we had!
The locals were friendly and warming to us. The staff at the dorset were a pleasure.

Friendly & clean, good value ,excellent breakfast, soft towels, warm room on a freezing day.my 2nd stay there would recommend.
friendly staff and owner very helpful, Central for many facilities in Newcastle.
all of it that, why we only stayed the one night.
No breakfast as the girl could not find a key to open the door, very short staffed in the evening one person serving drinks, booking people in and cooking food like fawlty towers but less staff
