the hotel is very English style and the service is pretty good. Fine decoration and good-quality furnitures. Everything here is comfortable that made me feel like coming back home:-) the home-made English breakfast is very tasty. Quiet place, not very far from the city centre. Recommended!

Convenient for a single night stay for a night out in Bath. Just a short walk in to the town centre, but don't plan on spending any time in this b&B. Room was absolutely filthy and didn't look like it had seen a duster in years! There was dust everywhere. Window sills were going mouldy and the shower and toilet looked like it could do with a good scrub. I had to rinse the shower out before I used it.

Breakfast was good. Bed awful was broken and badly repaired. Could not sleep due to sagging. Could do with a refurb, or a Hoover. Window nice b and b but in need of new items and a deep clean. Very nice staff.

The hosts were delightful and helpful. The hotel was quaint with interesting rooms and crisp, clean bed linen. There was a bookable car parking space at low cost for 24hrs.The breakfast was excellent with all you could want to eat and served in a lovely room. It was very close to the town centre with all amenities, restaurants etc, and only minutes from the Royal Crescent. Our family room was light and airy with 2 double beds and a table and chairs, a large flat screen tv and tea making facilities. One room had doors leading to a patio area outside. We hadn't realised it was on a main road. The hotel itself needed a lot of tlc especially a lick of paint. One of the bedrooms was as soon as you came in on the ground floor, quite noisy with slamming doors and talking. The bathrooms (we were in a group) were all in desperate need of a very good clean, especially ours (family room - not twin as stated), which actually could have done with ripping out and starting again. The towels provided although clean were thin and had seen better days. There were no luxuries like shampoo etc, not even a bar of soap to wash with, only anti bacterial handwash. The bedroom carpet, also needed changing with multiple stains. One of the bathrooms provided was across the hallway from the bedroom and although exclusive to that room, was a bit off putting. The breakfast although excellent was cooked by one of the hosts whose unclean clothes were also a little off putting. Having said all of that, we still enjoyed our stay, and were made to feel very welcome and due to cost and locality would definately stay again.

The location was ideal, the room was spacious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room wasn't the cleanest but nothing as filthy as some of the other reviews suggested. It did get a bit cold at night, and there was no handle on the bathroom door so you couldn't fully close it; no shower head either, only a bath.

Ideal location for my trip. Friendly host. Warm comfortable room with good facilities. I would have been disconcerted by the lack of personnel on duty when I arrived - the front door was open and a small note on the noticeboard in the hallway had my name and room number on. The room key was in the room door when i entered - if I had not read this on other visitors reviews on your site.

The breakfast was excellent and the owners very pleasant. Very disappointed to discover this b&b is very dated and run down. Our bedroom carpet had marks all over it and the furniture was in poor order. Considering how much we paid I expected much more than this. Also be warned a £2.00 charge is asked for for debit card payment, so we paid in cash. We only saw the owners at breakfast the following morning. The b&b was open when we got there and our key simply left in the room door. No security whatsoever. It was a last minute booking - we can now see why they had vacancies! Shame as a lovely couple and they could make it such a lovely place to stay.

John was very friendly and helpful, parking was a bonus, easy location to walk into town, breakfast was delicious, nice little back patio with geraniums, that we could walk out on to from our room. The walls were paper thin, hand towels grubby, the place could do with a scrub (re-paint, wash net curtains, dust the artificial flowers in the breakfast room), but tolerable.

Easy walking distance to Bath attractions We were placed up in the attic, which was dirty, dingy, dusty. Mattress & pillows old & uncomfortable. Dirty linens from the previous guests piled up on the staircase--we actually had to step over them even the next day!

Fabulous central location, warm friendly reception & great breakfast. Great to have 2 double beds so we could both sleep well. The room was tired, the bedspreads were stained and we found a toenail clipping in the centre of the room. No shower.

Good location and charming owners Very expensive for what it is---simple b&B. Property was a bit run down/ tawdry. Room was in need of a thorough clean and quite a bit of general maintenance---curtains and bedding etc as well as a smarten up with a bit of paint etc.

The owner was pleasant and helpful There was an unpleasant chemical spray smell which made my eyes sting. The room was very stuffy and only one window opened a few inches. The standard of cleanliness was low - the carpet was dirty, the bath stained, the window ledges grimy. And even the food was old-fashioned - tomatoes served at breakfast were tinned! It felt like a 1960s time-warp

The house appeared dark and gloomy from the front hallway. However, once inside our ground floor double ensuite it was quite bright and we were presented with a patio door opening onto a nice backyard garden. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was acceptable. The owner was at first quiet but on checkout more friendly.

I meet my sister in Bath once or twice a year when she is visiting from abroad as it is a convenient place to meet up and we both love the city. Dorset Villa provided us with a reasonably priced bed and breakfast overnight stay with comfortable room and en-suite, and a very good breakfast served by a pleasant gentleman. It was within easy walking distance of the town and not too far from the railway station. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

The location is extremely convenient to the city centre and very easy to find. It takes just a few minutes walk to get to the shops and attractions. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and although situated on a main road it was very quiet. The ensuite facilities included a bath which was much appreciated after a tiring day of sightseeing. Breakfast was a good homecooked english breakfast with a choice of cereal etc. The decor is quite dated and the furnishings basic however the rooms could feel a lot more comfortable if more time was spent on the cleaning of them. Our room was very dusty and the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Situated easy walk to city centre, on flat. Rooms basic but provide excellent value for money. Breakfasts excellent. This was our third stay here and will, hopefully, return again in the future. Parking provided - at additional cost - but is limited. Parked car in National car-park which was convenient but worked out quite expensive over two nights.
