In general the hotel was really nice. Good restaurant, nice bar!
For a super king bed it was just 2 beds pushed together which left a slight gap in the middle which wasn't ideal. The bathroom was slightly small and would be better with a large walk in shower.
Generally comfort was good, as was breakfast. Staff were friendly and mostly efficient. The room was pleasant.
WiFi appeared to work then wouldn't connect - at all. We asked for and were promised fresh milk, it never arrived. Dogs were allowed, which we appreciated, but there was no part of the bar or any other public area where the dog could sit with us.
Very good breakfast and comfy large bed
attitude of staff
Staff were friendly & the swimming pool was excellent.
Extractor in bathroom was not working, neither was the Wi-Fi whilst we were there.
The room was comfortable. Plenty of space for clothes/luggage. Did have fridge and hairdryer. TV was easy to use.
Cleanliness in bathroom was poor, grouting had brown and black mould. The floor was dirty in the corners. Around the windows there was a lot of black mould. No trouser press, dressing gowns. Teas only partly replenished
good gym, breakfast
Woken up at 8:30am by housemaid on morning of departure. Seemd to be trying to hassle people out of there rooms to ge on with the cleaning. No WIFI during two day stay despite manager being aware of a problem. No hot water one morning of stay.
Location The look of the hotel, nice, welcoming, foyer and lounge area. Restaurant comfort & breakfast Bar design & comfort Restaurant, bar & reception staff
The fact I had booked for a child and you had not acknowledged or prepared the room for that. The Housekeeping lady attended our room to put the bed in with barely a grunt and threw it in there. Unprofessional and unnecessary, as we were polite to her. Dirty glasses (milk in them) from previous guests were left in our hotel room Feedback card from the ;past guest which had been filled out was still in our room, so I was unable to use it to feedback also. The whole hotel is too dark, insufficient lighting in rooms, walkways/corridors etc Lack of changing space in changing rooms (pool area) and nowhere private to get changed either. Swimming pool was very small and being so busy was difficult to even swim.
Staff were very helpful, they even microwaved my little boy's fluffy bed warmer.
In an area of Sheffield with almost no hotels this one was just right for a visit to relatives in the area.
The WiFi was out of action
cold & draughty in public areas had to increase hearing in bedroom
Air conditioning worked even in winter
Tethered non-power shower.
Excellent facilities, with a huge comfortable bed and efficient but friendly staff. Food in the Louge bar was very good as was breakfast. All in all a very enjoyable stay
When deciding where to eat looked at the Piano Lounge restaurant which we thought was very expensive at typically £50.00 per head for a three course meal. Plus cost of drinks. Our bedroom had an adjoining door to another bedroom ideal for families but not when there was a drunken row at 4.30 am aftwr a wedding as it let the noise through too easily.
The staff were all particularly helpful and friendly except the manager who I found stand offish and with little ability to smile! Pity given his staff were so great.
Just the manager
The guests in the adjoining room were making excessive noise past midnight. I contacted reception and asked them to move me. They refused but said they would speak to the other guests. An hour later I called again, the noise was still excessive (they were having a party). Again they refused to move me, but said they would 'would look into it' a further hour later they eventually agreed to move me. So at 2am I an walking down the corridor to another room. Next morning on check out I was asked how I enjoyed my stay. Explained I was not happy about the lack of appropriate response the night before. They called the duty manager who said 'OK thanks we'll do better next time' Not a good response and despite the fact that I have stayed here on business on many occasions there won't be a 'next time'.
Lovely hotel, nice surroundings and excellent staff. Rooms are nice and spacious - there was me and my husband and we had a travel cot in the room for our daughter and still has plenty of space. Check in/out very simple and straightforward and when you arrive they give you a home made warm cookie each to welcome you, very nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely staff , great room with very comfortable bed . Breakfast perfect, with great choice & the coffee was superb. Definitely stay again
Lovely room with fridge - very useful my daughter is lactose intolerant so we could store her milk. I used the gym which was good and the hotel staff were exteremely helpful and friendly. I like being able to open the window often you cant do that nowdays in hotels - it matters to me.
Nitpicking here - lighting is often a bit dim for make up purposes even the bathroom could do with a brighter light. The push button flush for the loo is very hard to press, any elderly person with arthritis would find it hard to press.
Very helpful staff. Good room, very clean. Small but superb spa. Excellent breakfast service and choice. High specification throughout. Our special rate made it superb value.
Couldn't find the hairdryer but helpful staff soon solved that for us; we were very embarrassed!
Poor customer service!! I was taken ill and hospitalised for 5 days. The General Manager wouldn't allow my husband and I to re-book after he telephoned and explained. Won't be using a Hilton Hotel again.
Liked the greeting from staff , excellent service and quick . Comfy dressing gowns but bed a bit hard ! But really a lovely stay and would recommend
Bed too hard
Comfy bed clean quiet room.
Restaurant menu was small and the food was bland for the price. We didn't like the seating Arangements in the restaurant as the window is directly looking out at the smoking area outside so all u see is people in and out smoking and watching u eat ur meal which is a bit of putting.
Nice to have warm cookie on arrival
Mould on shower curtain Small bathroom Generally looking worn Windows grubby Menu not family oriented
Comfortable bed, quiet room
Food quality & service was mediocre. Chewing gum stuck under table. Room music system broken
Modern lovely hotel with pleasent staff!
Couldn't get the wifi in the room but didn't really need or want it anyway
