friendly welcome. room 2, small double, but comfortable. excellent breakfast, no cheap brands. excellent location for town and beach, easy walking distance. no car park, parked on the road, was ok for this time of year. But was only for half an hour between 10am and 8pm. so would be more of a problem in the main season. apart from that everything else excellent.

Owners are fantastic, so welcoming and friendly! Really make you feel at home. The place itself is spot on for the money you pay! We were pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended!

I paid for en-suite and there version of en-suite was a bathroom across the landing with a key. As a heavily pregannt woman this was not ideal and there was no discount offered when challanged that I had paid for en-suite. The tv was ontop of the wardrobe so not in a good location, giving you a crooked neck when watching it. There is a pond in the garden so when window was open you got the smell of pond in your room and as it was only single glazed window you could also hear the pond motor running all night. breakfast was average.

Exremely friendly welcome. Landlady was an absolute diamond. It was an incredible stay for the price. We have stayed in much more upmarket hotels over the years but none made us feel so much at home or were such unbelievable value. Nothing- it was an excellent weekend and even if we won the lottery would be happy to return.

The location of Dovedale was good near to facilities and the beach, not far to walk with young children. On arrival the 1st words I heard from the landlady was is there a problem. Then when we were going up to the the room and in the room there were numerous signs telling us what not to do in fairness there was 1 sentence saying enjoy your stay. They had the front room as their private accommodation it felt like we were an inconvenience their rather than we were paying guests. It wouldn't have been such a problem if the bar area was open so we had somewhere else to sit but it wasn't, there was yet another sign to ring the bell if needed anything. Breakfast was served at 09.30 but arrived at 09.30 it felt as though we were late. The showers were a major issue hot cold or didn't work no water pressure to be fair the landlady said every ones shower didn't work so if staying a few days expect to not shower properly took 2.5 hours to shower 3 people because of the water. The landlady said if anyone uses the toilet or sink elsewhere in the hotel the it effects the showers. At the end she said to our 7 year old that she was going to have a party when we left meant as a joke but as this was only the 3rd time we had seen her not really appropriate as we had already felt as though the family didn't really want us there and we were paying guests. To be fair the landlady did seem to work hard at breakfast.Pictures of the room and bathroom uploaded cleanliness not brilliant especially as rooms werent entered too to empty bins no matter how long stayed there. In the 90's the b&b was probably one of the best around but unfortunately B&B's have moved on.
