Score from 331 reviews Very good
comfy bed, quiet room, cosy bar, good parking
The well being centre is nice, the rest of the hotel was lovely and warm.
Got my money so, didn't even ask if I had a good sleep. My room =freezing, no adjustment,
The location was perfect for the funeral we were attending --the Church was just across the road. Staff were pretty good. Furnishings were of good quality.
Heating in our bedroom was supplied by 2 wet radiators which on full were at best lukewarm. There was a 2Kw fanheater which got a fair bit of use. The bathroom had a very nice vertical towel radiator which was stone cold
Very friendly staff, wonderful building with lounge and bar areas, lovely room and ensuite although we werent there for very long it was extremely comfortable!
The power shower was wonderful despite being in a bathroom too small to turn around in.
The room was too cramped and noisy due to proximity of main road and small children running around in the room above. Also, the coffee at breakfast was appalling. The waiter had only used a single spoon of coffee for a large cafetierre and had also plunged it immediately. I would not return to this hotel again. It is much too expensive for the quality presented to guests.
Gym was good. Parking is free. Easy access. Staff very nice. Clean. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good. Shower was powerful and hot. Basin had a mixer tap.
I think the price per room maybe the downside for this hotel. As I was working to the West of Harrogate I found I needed to be out of the hotel by about 07:30 to avoid the traffic jams. .
convenience - breakfast - staff
bathroom needed updating, shower was barely adequate. just showing its age as everything worked
Everything you need, comfortable room, great friendly polite and helpful staff providing great service.
I thought the evening meal in the hotel restaurant was absolutely terrible :( nearly inedible! reheated roast potatoes, fatty meat you could barely chew, and extremely overpriced for the quality of food served.
Food was good staff very good location ok Basics good! need a bit of tweaking here and there
nearly died in the heat with the rads off!! could not open window? toiletries poor in bathroom
The three staff on duty the afternoon and evening of Friday 19th. Dec.2014 worked very hard ,efficiently and cheerfully in the face of a double function involving more people than they should be expected to cope with. One young lady Alison I think deserves special mention and the man and Swedish receptionist both
Too few staff overworked. R.K.Smithers Huddersfield
The staff were helpful bot sometimes it was hard to find them.
The room my husband and i had was in the old part of the hotel and i really do not think it was worth the price we paid. It smelt of the kitchen, smelt of deep fried food.
The breakfast was good and pool and sauna would go again in the spring ,
The staff are very pleasant and very helpful
Staff were friendly and helpful in the hotel and spa.Good Spa.Food excellent.Good Value for money.Room small but comfortable.Would come back hopefully soon.Loved our weekend at the Dower house
Shower in the room had very poor water flow.Tried to shower but gave up and went down to the spa changing rooms instead.Really need to sort that out.But did not take away from nice relaxing break
The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The Gym and Spa were good, the rest of the hotel had cosy rooms and the general ambience was restful and pleasing. The Hotel is nicely situated near pleasant river walk and interesting shops. This was our second visit and I would go there again.
Food ok but expensive for what it was; vegetables with meal nearly non-existent, room towels a bit rough (spa towels however white, fluffy and soft!)
The bar and dining area The location The bathroom with toiletries The early check in
Not having everything on the menu - they'd ran out of chips and sausages Twin room no. 9 a bit too small for 2 people
I've stopped here before and would use it again for an over night stop
Food expensive and little choice . Shower had massive leak and no shower gels/ shampoos provided
The room they were given was over the spa area and the drone of the jacuzzi kept them awake all night. They're 70....why did you do this.
Spa facilities, location
Changed rooms to avoid noise of a wedding taking place.
the room which we had was poor value for money it was very noisey with traffic most of the night in to early morning
Stayed here 2 nights. room had four poster bed and was a "superior" room with lovely bathroom with spa shower, but room location very noisy due to traffic at front which went all night, so we asked to change rooms on 2nd night which was done with no problem. Nice breakfast, helpful staff, and spa pool was nice. Convenient location for town and attractions.
Room on 2nd night was quieter but supposed to be a "superior" room like the first. However the bed was two single beds pushed together to make a "kingsize", bathroom was tired and dated with broken tiles, old style shower over the bath which didnt work very well and black mould round the bath edge. This room was the same price as our first room but we didnt complain or want to move again as we were just glad to get a nights sleep. We felt it was all overpriced for the average quality of the hotel in general.
Poor WiFi Bed to short I'm 5ft 9 and my feet stuck out. Repeatedly asked for in room coffee sugar etc but never arrived had to go to reception myself. Windows no lock on them held open by strips of wood.
