Location, very welcoming staff, extremely kind, keen to help, gave good advice about local amenities printed out 2 sets of directions to my proposed destination en route home. Room very comfortable, lovely touches, pot of marmalade to take away etc Superb hostess.
only slight criticism shower cubicle not large (easily large enough for me!) but worked well.
Breakfast was amazing.
General cleanliness in bedroom and shower room wasn't up to standard.
The place is beautiful, with a peaceful garden and the breakfast was amazing, such a wide range of food and well cooked. Everything was to die for! And if you need anything, they are really helpful.
Staff mentality Comfortable room Communal feel - breakfast round a huge mahogany table, beautifully laid Fabulous breakfast like no other.
A little dusty Was given an attic room on the first day - no view (had asked for a view)
Attention to detail was excellent as was the amazing breakfast menu. Being able to read the morning papers in the elegant sitting room was a bonus as well.
At first I was apprehensive about all the guests having breakfast together round one large dining room table, but once the ice was broken it was rather more jolly than sitting separately.
the ''en-suite'' bathroom the scruffy carpet floor
The whole experience, especially the breakfast.
Clean comfortable and quiet
Shared table at Breakfast
Teriffice location on the Edge of the Downs near Cliffton, a wonderful old house with antique furniture in the communal areas. Lovely comfortable beds, great breakfast choices with unusual home made jams and preserves.
Nothing it was great
Right on the Downs of Bristol, beautiful area, great view, fantastic house, beautiful gardens and nice City. Lovely people running the show. A gourmet breakfast menu like nothing Ive seen before
Room décor a little dated and facilities tired, but made up for by the rest of the stay
The breakfast was wonderful with so much choice.
A superb large room, and a great breakfast. The owners were friendly and obliging.
Our bathroom was rather small.
Loved everything about this lovely B&B. Nothing else to say really! Thank you, Downs Edge.
The bathroom was separate from the bedroom, just around the corner from my bedroom, but what a beautiful bathroom! So it wasn't really a problem. (And only applied to this room, I think.)
the welcoming. the small and unconfortable bed.
Shower pressure very low but bath great
Welcome from hosts. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast. Superb location. Extra little luxuries in the bedroom. Home baked food. Very comfortable bed and room.
Difficulty turning around in parking area when full. Only one shared breakfast table.
lovely position and interesting building
musty smell and bed was not very stable
Lovely convenient location. Excellent food & welcoming atmosphere.
The location, the scenery, the house Breakfast was excellent cooked to order.
good sized rooms, excellent breakfast all home made, friendly hosts, beautiful setting on the downs.
the en-suite bathroom was very small but we managed.
Downs Edge was a good place to stay and the decor was very interesting. The house was well kept with a great variety of flowers in bloom in the garden. Parking was available and it was within about 35 minutes walk from Bristol town centre.
1. The extraordinary pleasant couple running Downs Edge. 2. The splendid location on the park. 3. Excellent room and breakfast.
Personal experience, lovely old building with family feel. Amazing breakfast.
Our second visit. was as good as the first. Great people. They have the best breakfast of any B&B that I have stayed at. It is worth going for the Eggs Royale alone.
Breakfast was wonderful
