having to come home
This hotel is a wow, it is a proper manor house, high ceilings, huge rooms, everything pristine and spotless. Each room is a castle room each a different castle
A great welcome as soon as I arrived with my two dogs. All of the staff were ready with a smile and nothing was too much for them.
Jacuzzi bath, also shower, all toiletries were molton brown, robes and slippers in the room and the reviewer that said get a room near the spa was right, you can go down in the robe straight from your room.
The hotel is in excellent condition, well maintained and an absolute pleasure to stay in. The pool was small but very warm, the spa area could have been redecorated as it let the rest of the building down but even then it was not bad.
The gardens are lovely, there is even a walled garden, watch out for the ponds in the dark, reception have torches if you need them.
The breakfast was lovely, fruit, yogurts, cereal, croissants ect the sausage, bacon and eggs were surely fresh local farm produce.
I had the steak baguette one evening, it was huge and the steak was tender, I spent a lot of time in Bamburgh only 6 miles away, for the beach and so ate out most of the time.
I will be returning, it was lovely. Have to say the hotel was fab but the staff made it perfect, will be returning
