Doxford Hall Hotel And Spa  

Yet again the hotel has reached it's own very high standards in every area, with particular attention to the the staff all round. It well deserving of it's two rosettes from the AA. and the staff's willingness to talk with guests rather than at them. Great experience.

The temperature control system on the bedroom which was quickly alleviated by opening the window. (Lindisfarne) Otherwise no major niggles. (Note to self, next time must arrange for a garden view room).

The hotel was a beautiful building sympathetically decorated and had a very comfortable feel to it. The facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient

The peace and quiet, always find somewhere to sit, as the lounges are plentiful. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds. Unfortunately no time for the spa, maybe another visit.

The hotel was beautifully furnished and equipped. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the spa was lovely and quiet. The location was good with easy access to a1 and the coast.

We thought the resaurant was a little overpriced at £29 for a small steak, and vegtables were extra. The food was excellent however and the service faultless.

The beds and pillows were quite uncomfortable. Our room(11) was very noisy in the early morning I.e. 6.00 am onwards. We were left unhappy because we had to pay £50 more for our two night stay than the current room rate quoted by the hotel. When we queried this we still had to pay this extra money.

Excellent staff, friendly but professional and couldn't do enough for you. Spotless decor. Luxurious feel of the whole place and the beautiful building. The relaxed and unstuffy atmosphere. The chef who cooked the breakfasts did an excellent job, everything was cooked beautifully.

The limited evening menu in the restaurant. We decided not to eat there which was a shame as I'm sure it would have been lovely. No private shower facilities around the pool - suprising

Needed to drive to get to any local amenities but the countryside is part of the charm! Room service menu was limited - but glad we went to the restaurant which was gorgeous

The staff - friendly and helpful. The Spa - very relaxing and the therapists were excellent. The Library - a wonderful place to relax. Walking round the maze and the gardens. Decent wine list. Fresh flowers in some places. Whilrpool bath. Parking.

The rather staid vibe. Marked carpets in public areas. Disappointing lounge menu and overly priced a la carte menu. In my room, mirrors were not near electric points, so it was difficult to style and blow dry hair.

The staff were very friendly and also very professional. The lounge food was excellent as was Sunday lunch/ The room was well appointed. The curtains were notably good quality. The choice of sitting rooms was a nice touch.

I would have liked a more comfortable easy chair in the bedroom - I am partially sighted and have to sit very close to see a TV. (That is not a dislike just a suggestion.) I was ambivalent about the background music (quasi classical). My daughter and I were disappointed with our manicures

Competent & attentive staff without being over invasive. Clean & spacious room with stylish ambiance. We booked late & arrived late so only sampled the breakfast which offered adequate variety and was of good quality. The location is quiet with easy access to the A1.

Wonderful Hotel beautifully decorated,lovely spa, staff very attentive. The gardens and grounds must be quite something in the summer. Location of the hotel is excellent so many places to visit in the area. The cream teas are delicious.

Everything about Doxford Hall was first class. Staff, food, accommodation, location! Nicest hotel we've ever stayed at in the UK.

Loved the whirlpool bath in the en suite bathroom - a real luxury! Room was fabulous, can't fault it. Spa was also really lovely General design of the hotel was beautiful

The spa is superb, very relaxing after a long day.

As a business traveller on a modest company budget, the main restaurant was way out of my price range (should have checked before I went so my own fault). Due to bad weather I had to eat on the hotel both nights, and the bar menu is a bit limited and quite expensive.

The friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the place and the food was excellent.

Fantastic rooms, big and spacious, and very comfortable. Lots of lounges to relax and read. Quiet. Not far from A1. Excellent breakfast.
