All staff friendly, good bar prices
The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome on our arrival. They were very happy to meet any requests, including changing the room we were booked into as it had no shower. The dining room looked lovely as the Christmas decorations were still up so we had our evening meal at the hotel. Our waiter was very attentive and the meal was excellent, we ate in very peaceful surroundings as we seemed to be almost the only guests. In the morning we had a superb breakfast and again, nothing was too much trouble, including taking care of a special dietary request I had made.
Nothing to dislike, our stay was very good.
Staff were excellent and very friendly. Made a large party very welcome.Would definitely return.
Extremely attractive little town full of historic character; the hotel is fully in keeping with its surroundings. Very pleasant and helpful reception staff.
Steep and narrow stairs up to room - but that is an inherent feature of an historic building. Service at breakfast was very slow and intermittent - definite scope for improvement here!
The staff must be the best asset of this hotel, however the breakfast was also very good, I have stay at much more expensive places that could learn a few things from the dragon,
Breakfast was great
Ceiling height in our room and the bathroom meant it was not possible to stand in the bath to shower... Or get into bed from the one side. I am not even very tall 5ft3. Did give the room character but also a few bumped heads.
Lovely old Inn , Quirky layout and rooms and a much pleasanter experience staying in a characterful building in a lovely location than your usual modern lodge or Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent evening meal. Good value for money
Not too good with stairs, but staff did offer to carry luggage up and you can't have everthing !
Staff very friendly Fantastic cooked breakfast with " real sausage" Hotel full of charm Lovely comfortable room
Hotel is very old & quaint with bags of character. Centrally positioned in town so easy access to the small shopping area and walks to the castle - it's a bit steep !! Plenty of "ambience"
Shower was a bit naff but it worked. Floors a bit creaky from rooms above otherwise a nice little find.
homely, clean, good breakfast
Quiet rural village location
Flies in the bathroom
Good location in village staff was very friendly breakfast was fantastic the lady cooking could not do enough for us very friendly village was made to feel welcome
Service at bar wasn't very good had to keep going to reception to get service,no food being served on arrival all that was available was sandwiches which wasn't very nice put us off eating there
The rooms were great and very reasonably priced. The hotel food and breakfast were delicious!
My bathroom had a slight strange smell but nothing that would stop me going again.
The hotel is in a lovely location. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the food good.
Restaurant and breakfast was of a higher standard than expected from this star rating hotel. The attic room had exposed beams and the hotel generally had many quirky features typical of an old building. Staff service was prompt and made the stay easy going. We stayed for the Welsh Rally (Nov '14) and it was a good hub with many stages less than an hours' drive away.
We had an attic room which had a very low beam and not enough headroom over the bath for a shower. Noise proofing between some rooms is lacking -but this is an old building so partly to be expected.
Easy to find friendly staff
Missed breakfast as we had to be out on the road early. So really only used the room to sleep in.
It was friendly and quaint. Very welcoming and warm. Staff were great and we were comfortable. Lovely building.
Wifi was terrible. Very intermittent. I needed it for a research project I'm doing (the purpose of our trip) so it was pretty frustrating. Not much to do in Montgomery - we wandered to the Crown but that was it. It'd be good to know if there are any decent restaurants around - esp as we stayed 2 nights.
Friendly, comfortable. Homely.
Shower had low pressure. Light pullstrings above bed were too short to reach when in bed.
lonely.cold, and having to ask where things were, even to call someone to serve at the bar,
The staff were excellent: friendly, outgoing and efficient. They made you feel you were their only guest and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. They succeeded! Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
There's no denying the Dragon is 'tired' but not to the extent that one's stay is compromised. Rather, it has assumed the air of an old friend - much loved and brimming with character.
Very friendly. The jazz band!
Super staff - friendly and helpful. It was good to stay somewhere with real character right in the middle of Montgomery, a charming little town. We liked the beams in room 17, and the colour scheme of the bedding.
Nothing except I found the heat control on the shower impossible to control!
The excellent team of people working at the Dragon hotel made the stay memorable.
Yummy food with excellent menu and variety to choose from. Staff friendly and couldn't do enough for you! Lovely location in a pretty and quaint village I'll be returning!!!
I wasn't there long enough :(
hotel great location lovely old place staff were very kind and helpful meals were very good and not too pricey I would recommend the food the hotel and the area but not the room
bedroom and bathroom ceiling kept banging my head(ok it was special price) i am not tall 5' 8" and being a man the toilet was a problem the wife was ok
