The rooms were great and very reasonably priced. The hotel food and breakfast were delicious!
My bathroom had a slight strange smell but nothing that would stop me going again.
The hotel is in a lovely location. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the food good.
Restaurant and breakfast was of a higher standard than expected from this star rating hotel. The attic room had exposed beams and the hotel generally had many quirky features typical of an old building. Staff service was prompt and made the stay easy going. We stayed for the Welsh Rally (Nov '14) and it was a good hub with many stages less than an hours' drive away.
We had an attic room which had a very low beam and not enough headroom over the bath for a shower. Noise proofing between some rooms is lacking -but this is an old building so partly to be expected.
Easy to find friendly staff
Missed breakfast as we had to be out on the road early. So really only used the room to sleep in.
It was friendly and quaint. Very welcoming and warm. Staff were great and we were comfortable. Lovely building.
Wifi was terrible. Very intermittent. I needed it for a research project I'm doing (the purpose of our trip) so it was pretty frustrating. Not much to do in Montgomery - we wandered to the Crown but that was it. It'd be good to know if there are any decent restaurants around - esp as we stayed 2 nights.
Friendly, comfortable. Homely.
Shower had low pressure. Light pullstrings above bed were too short to reach when in bed.
lonely.cold, and having to ask where things were, even to call someone to serve at the bar,
The staff were excellent: friendly, outgoing and efficient. They made you feel you were their only guest and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. They succeeded! Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
There's no denying the Dragon is 'tired' but not to the extent that one's stay is compromised. Rather, it has assumed the air of an old friend - much loved and brimming with character.
Very friendly. The jazz band!
Super staff - friendly and helpful. It was good to stay somewhere with real character right in the middle of Montgomery, a charming little town. We liked the beams in room 17, and the colour scheme of the bedding.
Nothing except I found the heat control on the shower impossible to control!
The excellent team of people working at the Dragon hotel made the stay memorable.
Yummy food with excellent menu and variety to choose from. Staff friendly and couldn't do enough for you! Lovely location in a pretty and quaint village I'll be returning!!!
I wasn't there long enough :(
hotel great location lovely old place staff were very kind and helpful meals were very good and not too pricey I would recommend the food the hotel and the area but not the room
bedroom and bathroom ceiling kept banging my head(ok it was special price) i am not tall 5' 8" and being a man the toilet was a problem the wife was ok
Great little place in lovely Montgomery. Our room was lovely as was the food and service from the very friendly team. Thanks guys.
nice restaurant with a good menu
1 very steep stairs to the room. R18 2 there was an inter connecting door with another bedroom and you could clearly hear every word of their conversation ( and snores). 3 the twin beds have seen better days
Large room, good beds, free and secure parking for motorbike. Delicious breakfast.
Location to wedding at the town hall.
Our room had a sloped ceiling which meant using the toilet was difficult and squatting just to have a shower. Not what you expect when you pay good money.
The food was excellent
Friendly and prompt service and lovely breakfast. Place has character and close to the castle ruins
Great little village for use as a base for exploring Brilliant bar staff always keen to please Food is excellent value and quality Quirky hotel, doors everywhere, but lots of character
everything about this hotel was great Staff were so helpful and friendly we wish the owners all the best in this venue
Right from the start every member of staff we saw was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and had a good nights sleep even though the floor sloped, but that added to the character of the place. Lovely breakfast too. The pool was lovely and warm. Also good choice of beer!
The building could do with updating and general decorating, but the staff were so friendly things like this pale into insigniface. The pool could do with better showers and hair driers. But really enjoyed our stay
Unexpectedly arrived late and this was no problem to staff. Highly recommended for flexibility and quirkiness. Good food
We enjoyed a very warm and friendly welcome, nothing was ever too much trouble throughout our stay. Good food, a great atmosphere, a good sized comfy room and a fantastic location, what more could you ask ?
Spacious and comfortable room.
Very slow service in the restaurant. Ordered two bowls of pasta at 1905 and these were finally served at 1955. If we had not been staying at the hotel we would have walked out and eaten elsewhere.
