On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.

The room and staff were very accommodating
Got woken up at 8.00am by cleaners hoovering outside the door
Bath in the bedroom
The weather but not drakes thought!
Our room had lovely views of the beach and pier and had a freestanding bath.
Liked the look and decor of the hotel. Really friendly and helpful staff.
Annoying whining noise from outside generator/ ventilator. Noisy cleaners chatting Whitley trying to have a restful lie in. Cleaners leaving new/old sheets in the hallways.
No hot water for use in the bath
Loved the room, helpful staff, beautiful views and comfort.
My only dislike was the stairs. Being 3 flights up was exhausting. Very beautiful curving stairs but way too many for my liking!
The staff were so friendly and the location and room were lovely will definately be back, fantastic views over the sea and bath tub looking out over view or TV xx
Air con didn't work so had to have windows open and was a bit noisy
We got an upgrade and a lovely room as the room we booked was substandard and basic and the air conditioning wasn't working. (Too noisy to open the windows and too many flies) The upgraded room was large and very comfortable- much more suited to the price we paid and we couldnt fault it. Hotel was well located and staff friendly.
The first room we were given looked much better on the website but in reality was very cramped, very warm (no air con. working) and very basic for the cost.when we were given another room on the next floor up the room door card often wouldnt let us in so after we'd climbed the 3 flights of stairs (no lift) we had to go back down again to get it reactivated at reception on several occasions then climb back up again which was frustrating as well as knackering!! Parking pricey but we understand that spaces are at a premium in Brighton.
In room 305 overlooking the beach and pier. Nice clean room with plenty of extras thrown in (free wifi, usual hot drink selection / slippers / shampoo etc). Could not fault the hotel from start to finish. Maybe could provide the option of a lighter sleeping duvet - such as a sheet and throw. But I never asked - so I can't really complain :)
The staff couldn't have done more to make our stay special. Lovely room, amazing bed and wonderful experience
The very relaxed and casual atmosphere was great. Despite the great variety of eateries to chose from in Brighton chose to eat in hotel restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Having already checked in when we enquired about dining in restaurant member of staff pointed out a better room package to include dining and changed us to it accordingly. Very impressed as didn't need to!!
Slight problem when booked online as thought id booked a seaside room with a bath in window but when confirmation received it wasn't! Call to hotel changed to a City room with bath in room as no seaview available
The hotel has beautiful food. Everything fresh. The bed was very very comfortable. Service was good. in spite of the stair difficulty we would come again and maybe organise a room on the ground or first floor.
When booking on the internet I did not realise the hotel had no lift and as a mature couple the stairs to the top floor were too much. It was nearly 400 stairs up and down per day! It would be helpful if you could inquire whether patrons minded climbing to the top floor. We had to go up slowly and stop on each landing. We met another older lady on the stairs who was doing the same. Steps to the bathroom were precarious and the bathroom although lovely and modern it was so minimal there was no extra ledge on which to put toiletries and no towel rail
Amazing room with sea view, room very clean and confortable nice and sorprise thing it was tue bath in front if the bed, cool and romantic... Perfect room... Breakfast good , quality food and good staff.. We been only for 2 days but absolutely we come back..
Double booked me and tried to cancel on me even though I'd booked on this site, only relented after I kicked up a fuss, wifi intermittent, air con non functioning.
View from room, bedroom design a little different, great evening meal
Great staff who helped us find some places to visit. And we're very helpful with bags etc.
The hotel was in the perfect location. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was perfect! It was my partner's 30th birthday which I had told them beforehand and they thoughtfully left a birthday card for him! Would stay again and recommend to friends.
Norris was an excellent front of house. My first impression of Drakes could not have been a nicer experience and that was all down to Norris and his amazing people skills.
The food in the restaurant was very good if somewhat small portions. The staff were very helpful and kind. Parking was an excellent resource and utilised by us. Cocktails in the bar were very nice. Location to the sea and pier and lanes for shopping was really good with not too long a walk.
Felt the size of the rooms was very small with no proper wardrobe and a wet room so couldn't leave your wash bag or toiletries in there as everything got soaking wet on showering. The shelve unit for the tea making facilities, kettle , glasses etc was very unstable and was worried so moved the kettle before use. One of the double sockets was hanging off the wall and this didn't seem very safe to me. Finally the weather was beautiful and very hot and we felt the air conditioning couldn't cope with the demand and wasn't particularly effective.
Love the location. Food excellent. Staff lovely
Comfy beds, fantastic wet room.
Lack of attention to detail. Its quite an expensive hotel and is billed as luxurious but whilst they have created a lovely ambience, they have forgotten about the small things that make a difference. No bottles of water in the room, no fridge or mini-bar and no safe for valuables. After hours room service is poor - just lame limp white bread sandwiches and a packet of crisps. We were also rushed out of the room and called at 10:50am to make sure we were leaving on time in order to make way for a wedding party. These are all minor things but in a place like Brighton with many great hotels I will try somewhere else next time.
From start to finish the whole experience was excellent. Location, staff friendliness, car park, room and food. My no 1 Brighton Hotel
It was a little trip with my boyfriend to relax away at the sea side. Location of the hotel was just perfect! Staff was very friendly. Bath with sea view was amazing!
No lift-but it's just my laziness. Car park could be bigger and the option to park longer would be better
Everything really - paid for a single got a (small) double with a sea view. Cheers guys! Been staying for years - still very few signs of wear and tear.
Couldn't get the air con to work. But I managed with a window open.
Love the apartment feel of the king city facing. Lovely bright bathroom.
Noise at the back of the building. We stayed on the third floor. Kept window closed and a/c on to block out this noise (generator) ??
